    I sprained my ankle at BJJ yesterday, found this video this morning and followed the instructions and have noticed an instant alleviation of the pain! Thank you so much

    I have to say this is great...I suffered a high ankle sprain a month ago...just got out of my big bulky moon boot earlier this week...and have 3 different therapist tape my ankle 3 different ways...the first 2 I felt did nothing, so today when I went for PT, I asked the therapist to specifically wrap this way, and I had to walk her through how to apply it....but my ankle feels amazing...I feel like this is stabilizing it more than the other 2 ways, and better than the plastic air wrap thing they gave me...next week I get a lace-up splint, but will still be taping like this as well! Thank you for the walk through (no pun intended!)

    Thanks so much. Sports tape is so awesome these days! Besides support, it can really take the edge off. Something to remember- taping for ankles usually proves very effective, SO... if it doesn’t help an injury at all and you haven’t been to a doctor, time to see one right away. : /

    Thanks for the post, I have tried that and find out I have pressure allergy. Did not know such a thing existed. I always forget and time after time do the taping again. I had a blister 6 mm deep on my wrist and 2 cm long because I kind of did not realize what the feeling under the tape was. With RA you get used to the pain and ignore it to some lvl.

    I know this an odd question, given that my focus should be related to the taping (video was excellent by the way); but I spent all the time trying to work out your accent. It sounded a combination of Scottish (not sure which part), Northern English (Liverpool or Manchester), and Canadian. Please help me out

    I ripped my anterior syndesmosis (Lig. Tibiofibulare anterius) and the Lig. interossea). I didnt want surgery and im on sticks for 4 weeks now. Did you overcome your sprain and are into sports again? I did crossfit and cant imagine it will be like before. will test your taping on the next.

    A question...fell with a high ankle sprain in April....since then, additional xrays show I also fractured 3rd and 4th metatarsal...I also feel like my arch has fallen...
    Been doing PT, but feel like I need the additional tape support...love this technique, but can I combine it with an arch support as well as metatarsal support?

    • @NorthernSoul
      @NorthernSoul  Před 5 lety +2

      I wish you a speedy recovery! You can combine tape techniques together for custom taping for your specific needs. I do it often for treatments. It's hard to demonstrate because I combine them in my head and then apply. You may need to take out a strip or two so as not create a cast. Remember the tape is for mobility. Check out some of my other videos on the Northern Soul channel. I have an arch support taping video. you might have to experiment a bit but your body will tell you if you got it right. Good luck!

    • @NorthernSoul
      @NorthernSoul  Před 5 lety +2

      Hi Brendan, Thanks for the question. Personally I'd try ankle protection taping link is here czcams.com/video/2THr-oMWlAw/video.html But try both and see which one feels right for your needs, and I'd definitely use taping for a full tear! Best of luck!

      Haha! It comes off easier when you get it soaked in the shower, or try rubbing some olive oil on it for a few minutes, should come right off. I kinda like just ripping it off dry though ;)
