That big spring you used for your clutch return is actually a heat shroud for the outside of. A clutch cable where it touches your engine so it doesn't melt.
Dude... the big spring is your heat shield. The small spring is for the clutch lever. Don't use this video as a tutorial. Bad advice from beginning to end.
Yes, Benny, this guy was too much in a hurry to fire it up! As expected, he did not make sure a free and 'true' run of the chain. I stopped watching as soon as he got to that point. However, this should stay here as "how NOT to do this" It is a good example of how little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.
just a suggestion. the springs for the clutch cable are not both for the return. the larger spring is a heat shield for where the cable passes by the engine cylinder. the smaller spring is for the clutch return.
China China China makes me kind of laugh who has a motorized bike on CZcams that's not made in China? Even if some of the cars in America are assembled in America the parts come from China. All our high-end tools are made in China. How many people do you know works for a DeWalt Factory ? I don't know any how many people do you know works for a Makita Factory? I don't know any. I laugh when people hate on China and call all their stuff crap I used to working at Customs building and our job was to unload a China container and loaded into an American Container but before we did that we put Canadian stickers over top of the China stickers. So when people call stuff crap that's made in China everything's made in China even the sea cans. I can't even sit here and say they stole the blueprints. Nope cuz that's not true either Canada and America and the United Kingdom sold China the blueprints. But yeah his title was way over the top. Smells the gas tank and says smells like China.
Didn't know there were any ads until I read some comments. Ad blocker working fine I guess. Nearly 300,000 views so far. Perhaps the goal never was to make a good tutorial? Brilliant!!
Mine came in the same box as well. I measured the capacity to 77cc which is near enough to 80cc. The term is generic but it seems whatever country you buy these in they all come out of china. Not such a bad thing, but the £65 kits are the same as the £125 kits.
I'm building one of these bikes now that UK LAW has changed (July 2021) making them Road Legal (NOT on cycle paths, you must use pedals, and cycle by pedals only through Pubic Parks etc) for Age14+, no license, Tax, MOT or Compulsory Insurance required BUT your bike (steel frame recommended) must be "sturdy in construction", have adequate braking, front & rear brakes independently operating a tailgate brake light, it must have 2 side mirrors, manufacturer label on the exhaust (!?) and for road use be limited to 16mph. I spent a day thinking how to restrict the 80cc bike then discovered 2hrs ago it'd been Manufacturer fitted with x2 cable-shortening nuts which restrict throttle rotation thus speed limiting the bike, so it looks like they're coming out of China already UK Road Legal and were TWO YEARS ago when I bought this kit. When you go Off-Road you can restore 35mph Full Power by removing those nuts to restore full throttle rotation. UPDATE 01/01/2022; Having seen Wikipaedia suddenly updated from the wording that originally stated "engine under 100cc" to "engine with max power 1KW / 1.34BHP" - which NO petrol engine has such low power output - and all that other information I've quoted above - I've noticed my throttle cable was very short and won't rotate further than 40% of full normal distance so the 49-100cc engines coming out of China have *already been Speed Restricted* which is why someone has re-edited Wikipaedia. Why can't they just say what's been done instead of all this buggering about?
I have one of these motors and I fitted it to my bycycle, I have been enjoying It for some years now always reliable I did fit a grease nipple to the primary drive housing and apply graphite grease at regular intervals the best thing I have done, it takes up hills with ease.
Anyone in the EU or Britain should know that, whilst great fun, these can only be used on private land. They are not allowed on cycleways, as in the UK the only powered cycles we allow are electric bikes up to 250 Watts power, under our EAPC Regs, similar in all EU. You can ride them on the roads, but you must have a licence, you must register them, fit number plates, pay Vehicle Excise Duty (Road Tax), have insurance (difficult) and wear a helmet, just like a motorcycle
seems your clutch is hard because you used the wrong spring. the long one is a sleeve to prevent the clutch cable from burning on the engine. The smaller spring is the one that goes around the clutch cable. I had to dremel a bit of material inside the clutch housing for the chain to clear. very little material but it made all the difference.
Same interest - F150 4bts and motorized bikes. Been one of my other hobbies since 2004. Suggest you check out motorbicycling.com for tips. Those engine need some fine tuning. Check for loose bolts (might be a good time to invest in a torque wrench) and crap in the gas tank. Make sure the engine is mounted solid and chain is lined up. Don't run the engine at full throttle, especially downhill or you'll blow the engine up due to creating a lean condition. Here's some tips that I point people to when 1st starting out: docs.google.com/document/d/1GcesQihc7-mm3hJGf7UPiqOaRXZ8ekUT99QUZq2qXXE/mobilebasic?pli=1 Be careful when tightening - things have a tendency to get stripped or broke. Chain looks too tight. Just my 2 cents Good Luck
***** No need to. I've ran my engines in 100 + degrees with no problems. I used Amsoil 100:1 I don't think Alumiweld is going to work too well. Just buy an aftermarket head which are better than stock -They work good enough for the people that race. Just get rid of the acorn nuts and use some grade 8 shoulder nuts. Use a torque wrench to tighten the head and like aircooled Volkswagen's, check the head every now and then.
Those engine can run all day if you keep an eye on them for lose parts, etc. Running them out at full bore will shorten the life of the engine. I just used higher octane, so I can't use a comparison. Good that you had some luck with the alumuwelds.
Whoa, gonna motorize a bike and give it front brakes only right off the bat, obviously this guy has never made a turn on a dirt or gravel road with just front brakes, those moments will come out of nowhere, bahahahaha that's marvelous!
Them carbs are good u just need to know what to do to them.drill a couple tiny wholes in top cap .do one smallest drill bit they make and if u want it quicker add more wholes ard it.side notes u will burn more gas but trust me u pick up a hole shot load more of speeed
oh yeah don't put wd40 on things that are supposed to be plugged into something without coming out and also don't use it instead of greasing the motor insides
A grandson here it's a chain is grinding on top of the housing when it goes in and it keeps on growing on top in your chain will heat up and it will ruin your chain I recommend fix it as I learned from my problems
Firstly the spring u put on the clutch cable is in the wrong spot and it’s going to melt, secondly you chain was way too tight and the fuel tank is gonna keep slipping
I ended up using a 3" exhaust pipe clamp, its what I had on hand. that has not broken. the hose clamp snapped after awhile because it wasn't supported properly.

Ive built a ton of these. #1 thing is upgrade rear sprocket adapter #2 is upgrade chain tensioner
Just built one the other day, noted thanks for the info. I also would like to upgrade the exhaust

For the clutch that big spring is a heat sheild and the small one is the one ur supposed to use
With the 415 chain u have to grind the inner part of the case cover just a bit
bro i fucking love your humor
Dude, youre going to need both breaks
Love it.. very pessimistic whilst building. but upon riding it the big kiddie shocked smile lol.. good fun eh
That chain is too tight... Is gonna break again

They make adaptor kits for rear disc brakes for the sprockets

what a terrible build mate lol but well worth a watch for the shitsngiggles!
Lol take away my rear brakes and I would be over the handlebars in about 2 minutes
Most people would! This guy's a fool.
How did that hose clamp hold up? My M6 all thread bolts for the bottom motor mount aren't long enough, so had to order 4 inch studs.
I ended up using a 3" exhaust pipe clamp, its what I had on hand. that has not broken. the hose clamp snapped after awhile because it wasn't supported properly.
Johnson's Gee-rage buy a jack shaft then you can shift gears and you still have that rear disk brake option
Johnson's Gee-rage dont use a hose clamp to hold the engine
Johnson's Gee-rage with the throttle cable you want all the slack in the front of the bike

EBay has these for around $110, 50cc for $105 4 stroke 50cc $225
Your large spring is a heat shield for the cluch cord. Thats probably why you had a hard time engaging it.🤦😜
I have a question do they have rain covers for the engine when it rains and how about a engine lock to protect it from someone stealing it
Love the title
You can flip the sprocket if u need to
yea cluch works like brakes lol :D
Do another one but better!
You should double the brake disc if you mount the motor gear the brake disc is too thin
Oh nevermind I see your evil plan good idea

Wow, I guess yours did not come with a chain guard?
Mine did....both still in the box
fix the gas tank or turn the seat around
My spark plug came with 4 prongs is that good? Its a ok motor too .
Im sure u know but those chains will stretch like a rubber band.
3:32. The throttle
To be 10 again learning lol by 13 was rebuilding motors lol
mine came with a 3 prong spark plug
I kind of want it to install a motor on my bike, but is too much work on it.
Not really, choose a quality kit, and with basic maintenance they are not hard to install and keep em going.
actually works...kewl
Is it just me or is he really worried about how it smells.
i slapped one of these in an old Kettle peddle cart, dangerous thing
