The Paldea region is full of powerful new offensive behemoths, but one of the best Pokemon in the game has turned out to be Donkey Kong shoved inside of a Pyramid.
Garganacl is an invincible Salt Creature that simply cannot be defeated. Many are wondering where to get Garganacl in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Well, once you find out this information, let me know because I need to get my hands on one of these.
Garganacl has been engaging in fraudulent activity with Gholdengo. They are on the run.
This video and all my videos are about Smogon Singles formats. Thanks.
Game Freak just blew all other online game development schools out of the water with this incredible new 2022 release. You're gonna need to get a game design degree online, and FAST, if you want to make a better game than this. Not even the best strategy games android reddit could hold a candle to this breathtaking Next generation competitive Pokemon experience.
Scream Tail is the Jigglypuff of our wildest dreams. It has been buffed with some higher statistics and the incredible ability, Protosynthesis. Gen 9 Competitive Pokemon wouldn't be the same without this powerful pink blob. He kinda looks like someone I met in one of my game design and development courses.
Gen 9 Pokemon Showdown is one of the greatest online gaming sites in history. From Pikachu and Charizard, to Palafin and Roaring Moon, The new Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, have introduced a lot of new faces. Can I succeed in one of the best android games of all time? If so, I'm gonna get myself a Walmart bakery Pokemon cake to celebrate.
Gholdengo is a Pokemon made of pure gold. He must have done some online business management courses to accumulate all that wealth. Or perhaps he might want to learn how to make money playing video games on CZcams. In any case, he's a powerful metagame force, with absolutely no interest in online game development schools.

Originally I thought this was a Heatran, Ferrothorn, Tyranitar, Hippowdon, etc, kind of pokemon. Garganacyl is just joining the OU pantheon of amazing residual damage and hard-to-kill nature. All these mons are really solid but also have their weaknesses, be it a quad weakness or typing that makes it easy to capitalize off of, etc. However, after actually dealing with garganacyl and using it myself for a while, I realised this thing is much, MUCH stronger than any of the previous residual damage monsters we've dealt with in the past. Not only is it one of the only mons that can dish out this much residual damage to EVERYTHING IN THE GAME, while also having recovery (recovery on a mon like this is as important as it is rare), but it has no quad weaknesses, and it's the only mon that can make you lose upwards of 1/4th just for switching in and attacking regardless of what youre stats or typing are. You lose 1/2 if you're a steel or water type, and it does all of this WITHOUT using hazards, which is unheard of! The only way you only lose 1/8th of your health after getting hit by salt cure on the switch is if you double switch, but then you just sent out your counter for no reason. Even ignoring the fact that it can completely remove all its weaknesses with terra AND the fact it's immune to status, this thing is absurdly good. It's ability and the current Terra metagame makes me argue it's even banworthy good.
Now I'm not saying this has no counterplay, running covert cloak isn't bad, it's phenomenal on setup sweepers as it prevents you from getting an unlucky para from a thunderbolt or burn from a flamethrower, or spdef drop from shadow ball, so it has its uses outside of countering garganacyl. Most substitute pokemon can set up on it as long as it doesn't get too many iron defenses, and it's really scared of getting a choice item tricked onto it, and 2 of the best pokemon in the game right now, rotom-wash and gholdengo, typically run a trick set. Hell, even stalling it out of its 8 recovery pp isn't impossible.
Still, even with all of this to counter it, it's a monster of a pokemon. Plus, all the counters I just mentioned aren't even that reliable! If you trick the wrong mon as it switches, you just lost your only shot at doing that. Substitute sweepers aren't that reliable with 3 good unaware mons just running around. Stalling only works on teams bulky enough to do it, and running covert cloak instead of another item might make you more vulnerable to 100 other things! You take more damage for not running boots, you have less recovery cause no leftovers, you can't run AV, you can't run a choice item, etc. Also knockoff exists, which the most popular mon in the metage runs almost all the time (great tusk.)
TL;DR, garganacyl is probably one of, if not the best residual damage mon we've ever seen, and given its counterplay isn't as reliable as it could be, It might prove to be overbearing.

I think Garganacl is a fantastic example of the difference in design philosophy between the older and newer Gens.
Old Gens typically made the difference between Pokémon be largely reliant on abilities, movesets and stats, most of which were shared. Signature moves and abilities were uncommon and relegated to legendaries or otherwise special Pokémon.
Now? Garganacl gets both a signature ability and a signature attack, Maushold gets two signature moves, even Spidops gets a signature move. Would anybody even give a crap about Maushold without Tidy Up and Population Bomb, or would it be just another decent Normal type with some niche uses for Technician?
Look at Gen 5. Think about how many Pokémon in Gen 5 are practically interchangeable with Gen 1-4 Pokémon, and don’t have much to make them stand out. Is the Gigalith line really seen as much other than a discount Golem line? How many Pokémon are there that are just strictly worse than others because they share typings with vastly superior Pokémon and have nothing else to help them stand out?
Somewhere along the way they started giving out way more unique moves, making way more unique and game-changing abilities. Stuff like Intimidate and Unaware used to be the high benchmarks for abilities, and while they’re still great, now we’ve got absolutely insane shit like Good as Gold. Signature moves are no longer relegated to special Mons like Lugia, basic bitch starter route bugs are getting them. Mewtwo doesn’t get a signature ability or move, but Spidops does.

Well, when everyone can be super, no one will be ... I'm not against signature moves and abilities, as long as they make sens to be something unic an exclusive to a Pokémon without being overly specific. Like if a Pokémon's concept basically needs a new way of attacking to work, sure. But giving out signature moves for giving out signature moves for no particular reason just make the move list very long for no reason, and it make it seem like Game Freak have no good idea of what to do and how to balance with what they already have. I would much rather have new moves that multiple Pokémon, old and new receives, that can be used in a variety of way. Plus most of the signature moves aren't particularly interesting, often time it is just two moves combined or a stronger regular move, it doesn't occupy interesting design space.

@@drakolithe6493 @Drakolithe somebody doesnt know what a covert cloak is, or a rotom wash, or a great tusk, or a belly drum or banded azumarill or a specs pelliper i could keep going honestly oh, we got ting lu with ruination and whirl wind to ruin iron defense sets, before you bring up salt cure for the water types banded azu kills garg before that becomes important so it forces garg to switch, and defensive rotom wash has been running covert cloak lately. Oh and don't forget about roost quaquaval which thanks to roost doesnt need the covert cloak, oh dont forget kingambit who if it isnt body press just wins and if it is body press you force it to tera thanks to tera flying stab iron heads. Or tera ghost to become immune to body press. Its not annoying like pex who could switch in and out, had good recovery, widdled down tanks, burned any physical attacker around, and punished you for swapping with knock off. Its not as bad as ferrothorn who again with knock off punished you for swapping, had decent recovery with leech seed, good damage with gyro ball, 8 resistances, substitute, has good hazards. While yes garg has a hazard set, due to the fact that it doesnt get knock off it cant punish you for swapping into body press corviknight or great tusk which in return threaten stealth rock protect garg out. Mons like ghold or rotom wash who run covert cloak also force the stealth rock set to swap. All the other counters listed before force the stealth rock set to swap. Yeah garg is dominant, yes it can be annoying, yes it is hard to deal with at times, but compared to pex and thorn who both often were used on the same team? Id rather fight garg anyday.

@@hooparainbowbraceypkmonand7862 saying that you can just put on a covert cloak to deal with salt cure isint a good argument because that means the mon is going to be worse outside of the garg matchup. All the pokemon you mentioned lose to both tera fairy, water, and ghost meaning that they are not reliable checks to it, not to mention that all of those mans are going to be switching into a salt cure. Pex is debatable but it was infinitely easier to deal with ferrothorn due to the fact that leech seed is its only recovery which means it can get worn down easily over the course of a game, not to mention that it died to pretty much any fire attack. Salt cures dot effect can easily force switches which gives you many opportunities to set up.

I used garganacl on my playthrough team largely by happenstance - I spent a lot of the game swapping out a bunch of different gen 9 pokemon, seeing what they evolved into and trying them out. I really didn't have much intent to use nacli long-term, I thought the little mushroom was gonna be too similar to other rovk mons like geodude and roggenrola that were never really my style. but it ended up being so consistently good and _fun_ to use that i kept him around for the entire way through. it ended up with a similar salt cure/recover/protect w lefties set as you'd see in competitive, and even as someone who disliked using stall in singleplayer where it was often faster and more fun to just overpower, I couldn't get enough of this guy. I'm so glad he's just as good in vs, ive been having a blast with him there as well. love live that funky little minecraft beast
