Funny that people think the UFC needs Mcgregor, he's great and all but there has always been a consistent rollover of stars, the only reason the stars are bigger is because the UFC has grown.
McGregor is where the PPV money is at, not to mention all the attention he brings to the sport without even having to fight. So yes, they need him, 100%. It will take a long time before they can find someone that reaches the same superstar status. And they better give GSP a deal for next year.

Plus Amanda has good takedown defence. 5 round Shevchenko is a worse style for Amanda, but at the same time Pena could be a bad style for Shevchenko, depending on how good Shev's takedown defence is. This fight confirms to me that Miesha is way tougher than Rhonda.
Even though Miesha could not escape that arm bar from Rhonda twice, which is probably just a matter of strength, she(MIesha) has more weapons; is more versatile and gives a harder time to fighters who just destroyed Rhonda in a couple of minutes.
I'ld say Ronda is the better fighter. Miesha is just better at taking a punch and, more importantly, she isn't as arrogant. The reason that Rousey lost 2 fights so quickly is because of her ego. Nunes and Holms seem to have good takedown defense, but if Ronda avoided damage and went for early takedowns, the fights may have ended differently. Instead, she thinks that she works harder than everyone else and is more skilled. I love watching arrogant people getting destroyed because of it, though.
Jay I don't think it's so much her ego it's just that her coach is mediocre. Every fighter has ego and they should. She needs to get with a well decorated Muay Thai coach that has a boxing department or is well reversed in boxing. There's no reason for Rhonda to eat punches like that

You need to calm down, child. I know far more than you do. Re-watch the Tate v Nunes fight if you are dumb enough to think that she had impressive defense. Rousey also looked for takedowns, but she didn't take the punches as well as Tate.
Rhonda is just a one trick pony, it's not that hard to see when you are not biased. Amanda said herself; this is MMA. You can't rely solely on one art, you have to be well rounded and if you can't do that, then you're not an MMA fighter.
