While Season 8 was a train wreck and one of, if not, the weakest talent wise it was absurdly entertaining. Not to mention it gave us the most entertaining & famous HK contestant in history, Raj. He by far has the most views of any HK video and he was only there for 3 episodes
When I first watched Season 8, I was finding it an absolute slog to get through, mostly because of Sabrina. Back at the time, IMDb still had their message boards active, and I posted my feelings about it there. Most people who responded agreed with me, but even more just warned me about Season 9. To this day, however, I still think I dislike Sabrina more than Elise.
Season 8 is the first season i ever saw, because that, S9 & 10 was all there was on Danish Netflix before it got removed. I have a soft spot for S8 because of this
Sabrina did at least have some moments where she was likeable, but her behaviour from the start left viewers with a bad impression of her despite it, Elise on the other hand was never likeable and outstayed her welcome in both seasons
In regards to Russell's final words, he did mention in an interview in 2017-18 that he said that 5 minutes after the reveal and now he regrets those words.
Huh, interesting. I’m not surprised but like he should’ve prepared. No grown man should react like that to losing anyway. Idk why he regrets it (if it’s because of his reputation or not), but at best he’s a manlet, or was at least. People can change but I have my doubts
My theory is that the talent sucked this season because they all had to taste Antonia’s gumbo in episode 1, which managed to erase all their cooking ability lol Also Raj is the GOAT
Antonia’s gumbo might’ve been for the season’s cast what the aliens from Space Jam were to the basketball players who had their talents taken from them
He also seems to be one of the contestants who has done consistently well in business since his time on the show, owning his own restaurant for a period of time and now apparently doing a ton of consulting and designing elite private dining experiences.
I find it wild that, not only was Antonia’s signature dish so bad Ramsay made everyone taste it AND it cost the Red Team the challenge, but that same episode is where Antonia got med-evac’d from the competition. Who knows if it was a migraine, a panic attack, food poisoning, or what it was. But we just saw her collapse, convulse while talking to the medics, and then get a “She’s not coming back” from Ramsay. I still wonder what it was that happened to her.
Yea, the fact that they never really said made me think it was possibly something very serious, but at the same time they showed her laying on the floor with no one rushing to help her, and then in the finale episode's end credits, they kind of made fun of it by showing Scott carrying her. Kinda weird all around.
I never understood why Ramsay never made her taste her gumbo after everyone else did, maybe even throw in a light insult about how important it is to taste what you make
The more I watch Season 8, the more I realize Sabrina actually wasn’t that bad and that she was 100% right about Melissa (Melissa ruined 23 filets and 7 pounds of scallops)
I have a soft spot for Sabrina. Yeah, she was immature and annoying, but I think she had genuine talent as a chef. She just needed to work on her attitude and maturity.
There are times I revisit season 8 and I’m like…Raj was a thing. Like can we acknowledge that for a second? Raj was actually something that happened in Hell’s Kitchen.
I would not be surprised one bit if it turned out that Raj was on drugs throughout his entire stay on Hell's Kitchen. I mean considering that he started doing karate after a few drinks on reward, and the fact that his eyes constantly looked dilated, it probably explains a ton with regards to his character. I mean, Michael Wray from Season 1 was on pain killers throughout his season, which definitely explained his perpetually mellow personality.
That's a posibility, Raj is perhap one of the best character, if not the best overall, HK ever has, he's entertaining and chaotic at the same time. He's the one that actually draw people's attention to the show and HK became popular because of him, therefore since S8, the producers always cast someone as crazy and delusional as possible to create another Raj moment, which explained such chefs like Elise, Tiffany, Zack, Monique, Jackie, Scotley... were on the show and made it as far as they did. All the traits that Raj had in S8 could be due to him on drugs, the guy literally put his head in a refrigerator, ate the raw and overcooked food that Ramsay threw away and had a very weird way of seasoning foods, his head was probably so wasted to realize how fucked up he looked during S8.
personally, i think he's just autistic. i am autistic, and a lot of his behaviors are very relatable, especially the ones that baffle others the most. for example, i would also stick my head in a freezer, to such a degree that i'm confused on how that could be confusing lol. sticking his head in the cold, dark, walled freezer? reduces sensory overload and grounds you. (he actually does this twice if you pay attention - once in the dorms as well, when he was overwhelmed after getting kicked from the second service. this is a self-management strategy of his, not a one-off). all his social interactions are wildly awkward, especially when he drinks (harder to mask drunk). and he drinks a lot, which can be a coping mechanism for a lot of problems, including this one. chugging wine at a wine tasting is this combined with social unawareness (people are looking at him funny, but he doesn't seem to mind, or maybe even notice). the jacket thing, not wanting to go out in a dirty jacket? rule-following, but "odd" rules only he knows. him wanting to argue with ramsay about the eggs and then immediately swapping to that snap-to-attention sir-yes-sir vibe to compensate because he's so used to having to heel-turn his approach based on negative feedback during the course of conversation (and the fact that this event is what made him stick his head in the freezer during service - social and physical overwhelm). weirdly not listening to boris telling him to roll the pizza dough because he was already doing another task and *needed* to finish it first (i do this). has a hard time understanding verbal instructions, needs things repeated, and interprets things in ways that they were not meant to be interpreted (much to everyone else's confusion and irritation). him putting the wrap "on the bread" during prep by just... laying plastic wrap over top of the pile (that isn't what "on" meant in that context). and again, just how easily he yields to ramsay. douchebags and dickholes fight back against ramsay and say he's full of shit. meanwhile, raj knows the name of the game: "he's the chef, it's his opinion. and i have zero opinion." he respects the rules and seems really authentic doing it. but then, asking if he could say something about the fish instead of just saying it because he knew he was breaking the rules, but he felt he was right, and he just had to have the truth be known, even to his extreme social detriment. and he seemed calm, like he really was trying to explain rather than insult or fight or discredit ramsay. also just the way he holds himself, his body language, and where his eyes are when he's speaking to people, especially with intense conversations. he seems to steel himself to look people in the eyes. he's super physically tense when he does it. all of this on top of several of his castmates saying he's actually a normal guy, plus the fact that his food, which he cooks not on a line as a private chef, does have good reviews irl. his signature dish was super ugly, but it tasted good. he isn't a bad cook, just absolutely terrible in the fast-paced, half-explained, loud environment of a line. other stuff, like the silly heavy breathing, forgetting wasabi on the sushi, patting down those herbs with two knives, stacking up sides down the line and cooking fish before it was fired, not being able to see water spots on glasses when polishing, eating the food during service, being lazy during prep, and just how fucking cocky he is despite his bad performances on the line - those are just normal weird guy things, in my opinion. i am not a doctor, and i have no relevant degrees or certifications. i am not diagnosing the man, as that's not a process i'm physically capable of doing - only someone with access to his medical charts can do that. i'm just an asshole online who happens to be autistic and sees themself in a lot of raj's weirdness. i might be wrong - sure has happened before. but it does make sense to me. let's all just simultaneously giggle at the silly man and learn from his teammates' mistakes by going into life and being patient and kind with others who haven't done anything mean-spirited.
Blue Team after Raj getting eliminated: Expectations: Without Raj, we will be better than ever Reality: Everyone in the team is somehow worsen than Raj even Trev has to go back to Blue Team again. I guess, The Blue Team suffered PTRD (Post Traumatic Raj Disorder)
I still can't believe that Ramsay didn't kick out Raj for eating the food on the line. I thought for sure that would instantly get him booted. I also still can't believe Raj during the pizza debacle. I'm sure that the edit just made it look like everyone was in stunned disbelief at his actions, but what's always shocked me about that scene is the fact that he seems to have a huge grin on his face as he's doing what he just HAS to know (he has to know, right?) is completely wrong. Like I said once before, to me the greatest rivalry in HK history was Raj vs. sanity, and I'm happy to say that Raj won.
Nah, Raj eating food on the line was like when on the old 1950' "I Love Lucy" episode, Lucy began eating chocolates from the conveyor belt in a candy factory!😂😂😂
I may be weird, but I wonder what an interview with RaJ would be like. I’d be curious to hear his thoughts on his viral fame from this season, what things we maybe didn’t get to see, and anything else.
Honestly I am the exact same way LOL. I love the toxicity especially from this season and season 16. I like it when toxic chefs get kicked out and reamed by Ramsay..
As you said, almost every chef in this season would be early/first boots. Even Jillian and Russell (arguably the only two on the cast that had any talent) would never make the final 6/5 at best
I know Russell has an attitude but saying he would make final 5/6 at best is a stretch imo - he would've won by literally easy victory if he wasn't such a douchebag Jillian was pretty decent and could just make it far enough in some seasons (still think she should've won this season)
Trainwreck status aside, S8 really gave us some pretty classic moments that'll live in infamy. Raj, being the biggest highlight despite a three-episode run, left me entertained from start to finish. But I also feel bad for him, considering everyone on the Blue Team, except for Russell, saw him as a nuisance. Also, don't forget about his drunken karate moves. That finale was a complete and wretched rollercoaster, which is a total understatement. Seeing Russell tasting defeat (figuratively, of course) after his performance was easily the most satisfying moment for me, all due to his aggressive and arrogant attitude towards the rest of his teammates. And his salty final words: priceless. Oh, and Antonia's signature dish. I won't go into details about it knowing how terrible it was. 🥴 Thanks for the video, Flynn and keep it going! Note: this season is the one I watch religiously to not only realize how big a Trainwreck it is, but by having the least talented cast in the show's history.
Raj walking the wrong way and GR having to point him in the right direction after getting eliminated always makes me wheeze. One final hurrah to complete one of HK’s most legendary contestants.
I kid you not, Raj was the reason I got into Hell's Kitchen in the first place. CZcams recommended a Raj compilation. I had to see more of this absolute legend, so I watched the whole of season 8. It was a shit season to start with, but funnily enough, it just made all of the other seasons so much more satisfying to watch. Thank you Raj
Honorable mentions: -The Blue Team somehow getting worse after Raj is gone -Vinny being a dumbass as Maitre'D to not order sides just because Raj cooked it. He unintentionally sabotage the entire Blue Team that night! -Every time Sabrina said "I'M YOUNG, I'M 22!" Whenever she got nominated -Ramsay caught Gail was dumbfounded and she didn't realise her pan was on fire! Also, Gail losing her confidence mid season and her perfomance got worse. -That annoying prom comittee kids from Beverly Kids and act like they know it all and that's the only time Russell has a right to be mad because that kids have no idea what they've been through -The fake elimination when Rob thought he was going home but turns out Ramsay just want to give him clean jacket. -Boris was caught for cleaning dishes for no reason -The only time a team got send to help other team but both of the team got kicked out by Ramsay due to the chaos which really shows how much pathetic this season is.
Raj is definitely my favorite I think he’s on the spectrum from his personality,Having trouble when it comes to instructions and not understanding and his occur social behavior as a person on the spectrum I can definitely tell those signs
Am I the only one that doesn't hate Sabrina. I personally didn't think she was that bad, and she was right about a lot of things like Melissa being a terrible cook. I'd rather watch Sabrina than Elyse. Sure she had an attitude problem, but at least she didn't pick on one person for no reason like Elyse did.
Can't say I like her but she did seem to have talent. Her big problem was needing to mature. Would be interesting to see her back in a future season and see if she has grown up any.
Raj HAD to be one of Ramsay's buddies or something that he just put on the show for comic relief. I've had this argument about him ever since I saw s8 nearly 15 years ago.
This season had some of the funniest kick outs. Rob with the raw halibut was funny especially since he just whispered in his ear to leave and 2 black jackets having chefs get kicked out..
Thing is raj wasn’t taking this seriously and was like Seth from season 5: a huge pain in the ass whereas despite her whining, Lacey was trying to make an effort but her pretty much acting like a baby got her ejected at the halfway point. I don’t know why people like him I think he’s a top 5 most hated male chefs in the history of the show, up there with Russell, Seth from season 5, Josh from season 3, and Joseph from season 6.
When I first watched S8, I went blind without knowing Nona won. So when she and Russel were about to open the door, I thought the doors would not open, and we would have the first season without a winner or something.
If you think about it, Raj could have acctually been in the final dinner service if he wasn't eliminated from the winning team. In episode 4 Louis had a night so bad that i don't think that Raj would have worse night than him, blue team won episode 5 (if Raj didn't do anything to mess that up) and in episode 6 Melissa screwed up the blue team worse than Raj did in his last episode. Imagine if Raj somehow would be a beast in the final dinner service and be at his best, just imagine. As well as extra 5 episodes of Raj, Chef Ramsay would just lose it.
Season 8-9 definitely were low points next to 15-17. Ramsay calling first service the worst to date was something else Also Nona was the only one who didn't bomb first black service
I’d argue 8 through 11 were a HUGE jump down from 5 through 7, then the show really picked itself up with 12 through 14, then the next four seasons (even All-stars and RvV) were way worse and now it’s at the best it’s ever been talent-wise
Fans consider this season a train wreck but honestly, in a reality tv show, horrid personalities and drama is what u want to see, there’s a reason people say the later seasons are boring cuz there is no drama
Here’s my top 5 most Iconic Moments from Season 9 next time. 5th, Jonathon’s Signature Dish 4th, Carrie Vs. Elise 3rd, Will Vs. Paul 2nd, Jennifer’s BS Elimination 1st, Elise’s Elimination
For me the worst moments on this season were the degradation of Raj. Especially what Trevor said! Wishing Raj a heart attack was way too far! Especially considering we saw Robert from Season 5 leave due to heart issues following a punishment! That was just wrong!
@@meko750And somehow Russell the Douchebag was the only one who didn't antagonize Raj like the others. And Trev who wanted to befriend Raj failed and Boris who called him a waste of life before dragged him outside to let him breathe with Russell.
My favorite Season 8 moments Antonia’s gumbo Raj Trev tossing Sabrina’s salad despite not knowing how to Vinny telling tables not to order sides because of Raj, then gets chewed at by Ramsay and James Sabrina and Raj’s eliminations Antonia’s evacuation Curtis’ heartbreaking elimination Scott ripping Raj and Trev new a-holes Ramsay nearly killing Boris for mocking him Raj and Trev’s near fight Raj’s seafood and vegetable pancake Boris is now the new dishwasher Russell not winning HK Nona winning Raj’s drunk karate
Trev is the ONLY black jacket chef that I could tolerate. Probably my favourite chef from the season! May not be a good personality, but he wasn't that bad compared to his train wreck of a team
Favourites: Jillian, Nona, Raj, Vinny, Rob and Gail Don't Mind: Boris, Louis, Curtis, Lisa and Emily Dislike: Melissa, Antonia and Trev Hate: Sabrina and Russell
Another friendly reminder that me are mere residents in Raj’s world. Personally, I prefer talented seasons like 14, but there is a different joy that comes from watching Gordon lose his mind for an entire season.
He skipped season 6 because he made a video last year breaking down why it was the best HK season ever, and he uploaded his season 7 video a week and a half ago, but it was taken down by CZcams because, they're CZcams
I hate to be honest since Season 8 is a train wreck of a season but Season 8 of Hell's Kitchen was my first time watching all the episodes in the season.
Trev McGrath may not be the greatest chef on the show, but he was one of (if not the) first chefs to finish a service solo after the rest of the team got thrown out. And of course, Rob's non-answer when he was asked who was the worst chef on the blue team. Shocked he didn't call Vinny's name, given Vinny's struggles the previous service and getting thrown out before Rob. But then again, what did Rob accomplish in the show besides having the winning salad in the sixth challenge?
If Raj made the final 2, he would have chosen Gordon as the first member of his brigade

Thanks for the video, Flynn and keep it going!
Personally my favorite moment was Boris imitating chef “it’s raaaaw!”
Curtis not having to taste Antonia's gumbo was the only good thing that happened to him in the entire season
Raj is the Hell’s Kitchen chef of all time.
Honorable mentions:
-The Blue Team somehow getting worse after Raj is gone
-Vinny being a dumbass as Maitre'D to not order sides just because Raj cooked it. He unintentionally sabotage the entire Blue Team that night!
-Every time Sabrina said "I'M YOUNG, I'M 22!" Whenever she got nominated
-Ramsay caught Gail was dumbfounded and she didn't realise her pan was on fire! Also, Gail losing her confidence mid season and her perfomance got worse.
-That annoying prom comittee kids from Beverly Kids and act like they know it all and that's the only time Russell has a right to be mad because that kids have no idea what they've been through
-The fake elimination when Rob thought he was going home but turns out Ramsay just want to give him clean jacket.
-Boris was caught for cleaning dishes for no reason
-The only time a team got send to help other team but both of the team got kicked out by Ramsay due to the chaos which really shows how much pathetic this season is.
Season 10 was worse
Raj the type of guy to bring 18 people to a movie thats rated 17+
#4 would definitely be high up there in a video of "Gaffes that should've warranted elimination".
The Gabon of Hell's Kitchen
Raj is the kind of guy to go over a glass wall to see what was on the other side
Raj is definitely my favorite I think he’s on the spectrum from his personality,Having trouble when it comes to instructions and not understanding and his occur social behavior as a person on the spectrum I can definitely tell those signs
I agree, as someone with Asperger’s
Am I the only one that doesn't hate Sabrina. I personally didn't think she was that bad, and she was right about a lot of things like Melissa being a terrible cook. I'd rather watch Sabrina than Elyse. Sure she had an attitude problem, but at least she didn't pick on one person for no reason like Elyse did.
Nope. I don’t hate Sabrina either
@mazemaster0033 glad I'm not the only one. 😊
Can't say I like her but she did seem to have talent. Her big problem was needing to mature. Would be interesting to see her back in a future season and see if she has grown up any.
Thanks For Sharing!
HK Season 8 is the Survivor Gabon of Hells Kitchen seasons
Ahhhhh the raj boris pizza moment
Top 3 most iconic moments in the show's history
The surprising thing is that Boris got nominated over Melissa at F10
Raj HAD to be one of Ramsay's buddies or something that he just put on the show for comic relief. I've had this argument about him ever since I saw s8 nearly 15 years ago.
Season 9 had better Chiefs! However you also Will and Paul acting way too into food at time and Elsie who sucks! Can’t wait for that video!
This season had some of the funniest kick outs. Rob with the raw halibut was funny especially since he just whispered in his ear to leave and 2 black jackets having chefs get kicked out..
Trev's fight back up to the top was awesome. He was the Zach of the 8 chef service
I found it interesting how much Nona changed after winning the show. She went from a sort of home town mom type to sort of an L.A, arrogant girl.
What I heard is she divorced her husband and later becomes a lesbian now
Raj Brandston… what a character 😂
Raj vs Lacey: who’s the worst in the history of Hell’s Kitchen
Lacey! She whined too much and quit on her team. Raj never quit.
@@seanswinton6242and unlike Lacey, Raj, somehow, is SOMEWHAT likable.
I feel bad for Raj. Lacey is probably the only Hell's Kitchen contestant I feel no pity for. None whatsoever
@@InkAndPoet I hated raj based on he wasn’t taking any of it seriously and all the guys hated him
When I first watched S8, I went blind without knowing Nona won.
So when she and Russel were about to open the door, I thought the doors would not open, and we would have the first season without a winner or something.
Nona is actually one of my favourite winners 🤷🏻♂️
Sabrina looks like she holds grudges against Mr Incredible
Raj, Move Your Back F*****g us!
7:29
My favorite season 8 moment is when Trev is bitching about getting "beat out by a FVCKING SALAD!!!!"
I get S8 isn't the best talent wise but it's still a guilty pleasure season.
I'm surprised that the show wasn't cancelled because of these people.
Season 8-9 definitely were low points next to 15-17.
Ramsay calling first service the worst to date was something else
Also Nona was the only one who didn't bomb first black service
10 was another low point.
I’d argue 8 through 11 were a HUGE jump down from 5 through 7, then the show really picked itself up with 12 through 14, then the next four seasons (even All-stars and RvV) were way worse and now it’s at the best it’s ever been talent-wise
Raj is the type of guy to fill his car with science gasses including farts.
I hope that your season 9 video brings up Paul’s elimination plea.
I agree, best one out there
Raj is the most iconic person on the planet right now!!!
Raj will always have a special place in our hearts 💕 💞 ♥️ ❤️
One of my favorite shows
Fans consider this season a train wreck but honestly, in a reality tv show, horrid personalities and drama is what u want to see, there’s a reason people say the later seasons are boring cuz there is no drama
Yeah I like when we have train wreck seasons. It’s funnier when bad personalities get destroyed by each other or Ramsay..
Ngl i wish raj was kept as an obstacle for the team. 😂
I thought it was absolutely hilarious when ran was trying to make pizza and they were all staring at him like wtf 😳
Here’s my top 5 most Iconic Moments from Season 9 next time.
5th, Jonathon’s Signature Dish
4th, Carrie Vs. Elise
3rd, Will Vs. Paul
2nd, Jennifer’s BS Elimination
1st, Elise’s Elimination
Jonathan signature dish was bad chicken with canned fruit!
I’d say Raj deserves an introduction for this list but I’ll let him speak for himself. Sorry not sorry. Couldn’t resist. 😂
For me the worst moments on this season were the degradation of Raj. Especially what Trevor said! Wishing Raj a heart attack was way too far! Especially considering we saw Robert from Season 5 leave due to heart issues following a punishment! That was just wrong!
Hey man. Everyone on the blue team (except Russel surprisingly) had it up to here with Raj
@@galvagames7490 Boris was a sweetheart the entire rest of the season and he still called Raj a waste of life. 😂
@@meko750 I know, even he had his limits.
@@meko750And somehow Russell the Douchebag was the only one who didn't antagonize Raj like the others. And Trev who wanted to befriend Raj failed and Boris who called him a waste of life before dragged him outside to let him breathe with Russell.
@@galvagames7490i think its cause Russell know its not worth interacting with him and just didnt care about his existence
That moment is why Trevor is one of my favorites
well, next week... We enter the dark times... It only gets worse from here...
My favorite Season 8 moments
Antonia’s gumbo
Raj
Trev tossing Sabrina’s salad despite not knowing how to
Vinny telling tables not to order sides because of Raj, then gets chewed at by Ramsay and James
Sabrina and Raj’s eliminations
Antonia’s evacuation
Curtis’ heartbreaking elimination
Scott ripping Raj and Trev new a-holes
Ramsay nearly killing Boris for mocking him
Raj and Trev’s near fight
Raj’s seafood and vegetable pancake
Boris is now the new dishwasher
Russell not winning HK
Nona winning
Raj’s drunk karate
Raj the GOAT
RAJ!!!! MY GUY!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
This is my favorite season I absolutely do NOT care what anybody else says
My favorite moment was when Raj summoned the moon.
Trev is the ONLY black jacket chef that I could tolerate. Probably my favourite chef from the season! May not be a good personality, but he wasn't that bad compared to his train wreck of a team
Jillian?
You should rank all the finale performances
Hello Shadow
Tbh I wanted to see Curtis win or at least become worthy to help one of the final two but atlas we never saw that
Raj carried this season of Hell’s Kitchen.
And he only lasted 3 episodes.
Favourites: Jillian, Nona, Raj, Vinny, Rob and Gail
Don't Mind: Boris, Louis, Curtis, Lisa and Emily
Dislike: Melissa, Antonia and Trev
Hate: Sabrina and Russell
It's not an iconic moment, but let's remember that season 8 was the first season where both teams lost on opening night
Another friendly reminder that me are mere residents in Raj’s world.
Personally, I prefer talented seasons like 14, but there is a different joy that comes from watching Gordon lose his mind for an entire season.
You missed season 7 most iconic moments!!
In My Opinion Season 8 is The First Season of Hell's Kitchen that Started Going Downhill.
Season 8 of HK without Raj is like HK without Gordon. Change my mind 😁
I would have preferred 100% a douche but dominant chef as winner other than a nice and inconsistent winner. Jillian also should have won
So what happened to the top 5 iconic moments of HK seasons 6 and 7? Just went from season 5 to 8 lol
He skipped season 6 because he made a video last year breaking down why it was the best HK season ever, and he uploaded his season 7 video a week and a half ago, but it was taken down by CZcams because, they're CZcams
Why did your season 7 video get deleted?
Raj's Kitchen
Sure we can say that earlier seasons are better and the best overall. But there's just something about season 8 man... I just can't look away from it.
I think the train wreck seasons are more fun and entertaining to watch but golly I can never watch them twice.
I hate to be honest since Season 8 is a train wreck of a season but Season 8 of Hell's Kitchen was my first time watching all the episodes in the season.
If you want to watch a season with chefs that are just so hilariously bad at cooking then season 8 is for you
Trev McGrath may not be the greatest chef on the show, but he was one of (if not the) first chefs to finish a service solo after the rest of the team got thrown out.
What was he thinking there?
Rob? Not wanting to throw anyone under the bus. But when Ramsay asks who’s the worst performer, you need to give him a name.
Impopular opinion
Jillian>Russell>Nona
