It's a shame you didn't know about Signature FBO services. Could have saved $14 on a ride, and asked the FBO for a van ride from the main terminal to the Signature FBO. They tend to get a little freaked out when you arrive too early for a private flight, as seen by the offer to put you on the 2:40pm.
There is security checks. JSX Swab’s your bags and carry on when you check in using a Smiths Detection IONSCAN 600 for any trace of explosive and narcotic material. After that you go through an EVOLV weapons detection system while boarding which will prompt the agent boarding of a threat as soon as you walk though on a tablet they keep at the boarding computer. It’s so discreet and efficient it goes unnoticed most times. Like in this instance.

I get what you mean, but the cabin does offer more legroom and a nicer lavatory than your garden-variety ERJ-135. You also get more amenities at the gates. The convenience that JSX offers may be worth the e extra cost to some, not so much with others.
unrelated, but the BART system we have here in the Bay Area is pretty sick. it’s a really well integrated system, and when paired with the MUNI (the bus and tram system in SF) and AC Transit (buses in the rest of bay area) you can get literally anywhere.
We already have three available on our channel (on JetStar Japan, Air Do and Japan Airlines) and as soon as Japan reopens to tourists, I will certainly go there and do a lot more domestic flying! :)

You can get there with public transit. There’s a bus from Coliseum that drops you off fairly close to the JSX terminal

I've made the trip between Oakland and Burbank a bunch of times, and I love flying JSX! It's so much more relaxed and comfortable than normal flying.

For first class prices, I'd really argue it should be a 1-1 seating configuration in a 135, even if the legroom is less.

Even private jets make you go through security. It’s kinda weirds that JSX doesn’t require them.
