  • Join us as we take a walk around the streets of Derby near to the Derby Railway Station. This particular area of Derby blends a mixture of modern buildings with the old Railway buildings and there's no doubt which we prefer! Looks like a lot of work is being done to maintain the roads and paths around Derby at the moment, which kind of spoils the videos, but at least things should look better when complete.

    🟢 LOCATION - Wiki
Derby is a city and unitary authority area on the River Derwent in Derbyshire, England. The county is named after Derby, which was its original county town. As a unitary authority, Derby is administratively independent from Derbyshire County Council. The population of Derby is 261,136 (2021).
The Romans established the town of Derventio, which was later captured by the Anglo-Saxons and then by the Vikings who made Djúra-bý one of the Five Boroughs of the Danelaw. Initially a market town, Derby grew rapidly in the industrial era and was home to Lombe's Mill, an early British factory, Derby contains the southern part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. With the arrival of the railways in the 19th century, Derby became a centre of the British rail industry. Despite having a cathedral since 1927, Derby did not gain city status until 1977.
Derby is a centre for advanced transport manufacturing. It is home to engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce and Alstom (formerly Bombardier Transportation) has a production facility at the Derby Litchurch Lane Works; Toyota's UK headquarters is located in the south-west of the city at Burnaston.

A walk around the Derby Railway Station area of Derby. Apologies for the couple of skips in the video. It was all filmed in one go and something odd happened in rendering. Still very watchable so wont re-upload. I'll be doing more walks around this area soon! 💚

There's some real hidden gems when it comes to buildings in Derby (especially the old Railway buildings), you just have to look past some of the eyesores as well.

9:30 The Mustards breakfast cob is sublime. Was in Derby briefly (too briefly!) by train recently to meet up with workmates from long ago. Walking back into the city along the river the next morning was very nice too. I like Derby - there's plenty of constructed treats for the eye. Walking around it didn't feel like a poor choice either, as it can elsewhere.
