- The forecast for today’s weather seemed to deteriorate every time I checked it this week, to the point where I nearly gave up in discouragement, and almost didn’t fly today. However, when I looked outside, I saw a few scattered cumulus clouds, and decided to go anyway. I got a late start, but it was worth it! Took a 3,600’ tow, scratched around for 20 min or so, all the time loosing altitude, until I decided to head back in to the airport and land. However, I bumped into a weak thermal on the way to the airport, and was able to climb back up over my release altitude, and ended up with a soul-lifting 2h:22 flight! At one point while scud-running under the clouds, I had to deploy the spoilers to prevent getting sucked up into the clouds! What a fantastic way to end the day!

So good to see you starting with the angels and fulfilling one of your deep longings! One day I trust I’ll be flying around with you in the heavens😂 without a vehicle!!! God Bless you John, so glad you finally got your baby up there!
Thanks Fred
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Just listened to your interview with Chuck, great video
Awesome, thank you!
Looked like a flight with some battles, but in the end, a really good flight! Can't wait to try this! Hang gliding has been fun, but I tend to stay too close to the LZ to have much fun. Need more experience, but I think if I were to learn the thermal and ridge lifts in one of these, it could teach me much about doing it in a HG.
Cutting the "apron strings" can be really hard to do. But I think flying XC in Condor2 can help build confidence to do it, as long as you don't become over-confident. Good luck.
These gliding videos would not be the same without the R2D2 beeps and peeps sounds.
Haha. The sounds of soaring!
