Great observation. I binge watch these singing shows and the ones with a live band are a huge step above the others when it comes to authentic and quality sound.

Whew, l never cared for that song, and the fact that every radio station played it out, putting it on like twice an hour day and night did not help. After listening to that rendition, l like it even less somehow.

Sometimes I think the judges turn just because they like the song. Like the first judge to turn with the guy singing “every breath you take” she practically pressed the button before the guy even started singing. Not saying they guy wasn’t great because he was. Just pointing out song choice is a factor when it comes to getting the judges to turn

@@clairegittens3707 Yeah, it bothers me too a bit, but I guess it's the somewhat ambigous lyrics in combination with the "romantic feel" of the song that gives listeners the freedom to make their own interpretation of what the song is about. I've even heard people use it as theme song for their weddings, as they proclaim "it's so romantic". Makes me grin and crinch at the same time, but who am I to spoil their day, eeh? :)

@@clairegittens3707 Exactly. :) People hear what they want to hear. But that's the mark of a great poet/artist I suppose. Their texts are so cleverly written and open ended that it leaves room for multiple interpretations, and the listeners can then use their own experiences and references to interpret the song in their own (twisted) way.
