  • Washed the vintage lot of lego pieces and now I’m sorting it. Wasn’t too bad to sort. I really need to do this every time do that I don’t get so far behind. Will help me to find pieces I need later. The time spent sorting this will save me so much more time in the future. Want to clean and sort all my collection

The best moments in sorting old lego piles are when you find vintage lego minifigs! 😍

I have been tending lately to steep them in the bath overnight with warm water and a mild detergent and then give the bits a scrub with an old tooth brush which brings them up much better and each piece takes forever but don't know if I'm doing the right thing or not. I don't mind when the bits are so old. I have to just do a few everyday, otherwise it's hard work that can take hours. I'm going to create a small factory conveyor belt where it's ongoing full time. I just have so much Lego I'm over run with the stuff!.

Best purchase I ever made for washing LEGO (as recommended by jangbricks) was a salad-spinner from the dollar-store/pound-shop. Removes SO MUCH WATER and the parts dry SO FAST afterwards.

Hallo Jabbo, you share your joy, your passion for vintage Lego in these video. You get immersed in what you love the most away from the never ending owerwhelming Set collections. This is like a pot of gold you did not look for. Cool. That era 1960s was my time. The Legoworld now that I just recently re-entered is like a new unknown language to me. Im slowly learning + enjoying all aspects of it. Thank you Carola

I use a salad spinner to dry bricks in small batches, it works good speeding up the drying time.

I remember sets like that came in a 4 litre bucket its a pity leggo won't bring them back.
I remember stepping on the bricks in barefoot at night going to the fridge to get a drink in the middle of the night.
Cursing myself😱😱😱🥵🤬🤬🤬🤬for not making the kids picking them all up. LOL 🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣

    Hey Jaabo
I found using liquid biological laundry detergent really gets that grime off! I tend to soak the Lego for 24 hours to give it a good chance. Then, like you, I use a sieve and very hot water to rinse them off!
Those printed bricks are very nice. The Shell signs are especially nice as are the Lego logo bricks!
I don’t buy much vintage stuff, but when I do it’s to complete Fabuland sets that I’ve either bought incomplete or that someone had substituted bricks and plates for missing elements!
    Good job sir 👍

Iam 49 and this era was my child hood lego, spent years trying to remember which train i had as a kid .I remember going to buy a motor on my own so i was at least 14 or so. so looking at bricklink and brickset , i always looked at trains from mid 80s. Boy was i wrong similar to the red fence gates you got in this pile i had a number of black ones in my childhood collection so i looked at how many trains it came with . ONE the 171 from 1972 and all other bits on this set fit with my old lego. Amazing how long stuff stayed on shelfs in those days .Nostalga good for the heart bad for the wallet.

    • @BrickTsar
      @BrickTsar  Před 3 lety +2

The tires and wheels are pretty common. There are a few molds that might be less common than others. The tires are common too but are often dry rotted, cracked or broken.

Nobody has verified what sets they were in. It’s one of those old parts that probably came in a art 700 or something but who knows? They don’t appear to be rare but I haven’t done research enough to see if I can find a set they were in

How "civilization" has over complicated things... We are living in a dream within a dream.
Today those rubber tires are disgusting. In the future these pieces of ABS after many, many years may be disgusting to that generation... (ABS does not degrade for a long time... but when it does who knows what will happen).
