- We found these two dogs chained up in a yard miserable. We knew we had to get them free and try to find them the best life possible.
Rusty and Libby (Liberty) are now free and beginning to enjoy their first taste of freedom.

What horrible neighbour's! The dogs had to suffer, not their fault. So glad they are off their chains and free now. I hope those people don't get more dogs now that they will put on chains again.
This world is so full of evil humans it's so tragic that animals, mother nature, children, and the old people always suffer at the hands of evil - Thanks so much Niall and your team for all your Love, Comfort, Concern, Support, Helpfulness, Kindness, TLC, Goodness, and Being There in a dog's time of need - You're an ANGEL & BLESSING - Love You❤
In addition to being a lovely catch-up video, this one is also a bit of a lesson in not jumping to conclusions. It would've been easy to be angry at the family who put the two dogs on chains, where they suffered. But now we know it was their imperfect way to save them from a potentially deadly situation with the horrible neighbor. Luckily it's all working out for the best, and I send thanks to that family, for letting Niall take the two of them into his care.
Most people are doing their very best, the bad cases are by far in the minority thankfully.
A lot of people think your rescue organization is typical of what we see in the states but it isn’t. You are providing a very critical but different type of service for these street dogs. It works. It helps. It saves lives. Thank you.
AMEN - I THANK YOU FROM MY HEART AND SOUL FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO FOR THESE STREET DOGS❤😇
This is why I donate monthly. Niall is transparent with his work and I would get updates of what’s going on with the organization. Thanks Niall!
you sir, an an angel on earth. The Irish Saint Francis of Assisi! You absolute legend. You give us all hope that theres still decency out there.
AMEN
So glad Happy Doggo land is a stepping stone. In total agreement. Although shelters do a lot, it isn't the ideal for rescues. Obviously forever homes are the jackpot. Thank you for being a team of angels for all these beautiful furbabies.❤❤❤
They absolutely are but as the video points out, homes are just not right for some dogs. We do our best to find them the best place possible to live ❤
@@wearehappydoggo Yes, it's obvious that many of these doggos love to live on the streets and thanks to you and the rest of the team, they are able to do so safely! So grateful.❤️❤️❤️
Niall, totally agree with your mission and how Happy Doggo is going about it (you're living it & know what's best for the environment & the culture surrounding it). Hats off to you & all the teams you're involved with on a daily basis ...you are all doing God's work here on earth. TY!!! 👏
I win the lottery I would definitely donate millions to this guy
AMEN
in the meantime send him a couple bucks.
No you wouldn’t because you’re donating $0 right now
Forever homes and all the love that comes with them are by far the best when appropriate. Some dogs love a sofa, some dogs love the street.
Sorry, but I don't think any dogs 'love' the street. Where they have to worry about how they're gonna eat every day... attacks from other hungry dogs... and worst, horrible people, like the neighbors who killed that poor puppy just for existing. If you look at all the dogs Niall has taken in who have been nearly killed/ severely injured by evil humans, I think it's clear no dog wants to live the horrific, scary life on the street.
@@MG-pj2oo Niall himself has said many times that some of the dogs he feeds LOVE living on the streets and were miserable when he took them to the land. He recently had to recall a dog he had sent for adoption in the UK that was miserable there. It's not that they love the streets, but rather they're happier in that environment that they've known their whole lives, living with their friends, having all the freedom in the world. Yes, that comes with some negatives, but some dogs prefer it.
@@MG-pj2oo There are some cases in Niall's land that some dogs hated being sheltered/rehomed they broke the gates and ran away back to their packs on the street/in the forest many times. Niall still monitors these dogs and gave them meds and meals everyday. They feel happier living free with their packs.
Thank you TEAM, thank you for all.,
A life chained in one place is not a good life at all. I'm glad that you've freed Rusty and Libby, they deserve better. Every animal rescue organization runs a bit differently but with a common goal which is to help animals. I'm sure life has improved a lot for many dogs on the island since you started your humanitarian work. With daily feeding, basic health care, sterilization, emergency cases and some adoptions, you also raise awareness about how we should view animals and treat them kindly for their well being and our human health. Beautiful work.
So glad to see Eve, Tuffy and Billy doing great🎉🎉🎉. Finally free Libby and Rusty❤❤🐕🐶 ty Niall 👨🦲
Such happy pups. You prepare them well for their forever homes!
I’m really hoping Rusty and Libby get homes where they can truly roam free with a large lawn to run and play!!! It’s my lil prayer after what they’ve been through 💕
AMEN
I agree wholeheartedly about being a stepping stone ...every dog deserves a chance at a forever home and not to be put into a shelter ... i know they are well looked after in the sgelters but nothing compares to a loving stable family xx ❤ I love what you do its amazing xx
Its great but why you sending dogs to England there's plenty of dog rescue places there
Just took on another soi dog myself in the village where l live, felt really sorry for her ,she had 3 pups all died ,she had these because bigger dogs on her all the time, shortly after she was knocked down twice in one day damaged her hip and back leg she could hardly walk, I thought got to do something so went to vets and then to khon kaen University veterinary hospital where they repaired her hip
She is still under treatment not walking that well but I hope soon will heal
But she is a lovely gentle dog, at the same time she has been neutered so more problems
there
Where is your shelter I have my own channel been to a couple of shelters they do a great job
Some people in our village are trying to get a neutering program for the dogs but its an uphill struggle
Channel is micks thai travels lucky the dog on soon about her rescue
@@thaitraveller9756 hi I don't really understand why you replied to my comment but if you need to get in touch with happydoggo I am sure they will have a contact available in the description bar of the video .
@@thaitraveller9756 Hey we're in Koh Samui. We send the dogs to the very best homes we can find for them specifically. We send dogs all over all the world - the ideal is if they can stay in Thailand and not travel but that's not always possible. Thank you for looking after dogs too
@wearehappydoggo hope I've done my bit removed a few dogs in village but I wish we could get a neutering program together it would solve a lot of unwanted puppies
But it's trying to get the locals interested, but I'm working on it
Thank you !!! ❤❤
Big love to you Niall, thank you for everything you do. Proud to say I donate every month to you and wish I could do more ❤️
That neighbor deserves nothing in life. Nothing.
I'm so glad all of these dogs are being given homes, that was lovely to hear. I am praying this means that for all dogs brought to recover with you guys, they have the chance to be networked for homes/ don't have to go back to the street life. I also get that it's hard enough homing one dog, let alone 2 together, but Libby and Rusty do look pretty bonded to me. Really hoping this channel and its success brings about a loving adopter who wants both of them, so they can stay together. With the visibility they get here, i really, really hope that's possible. 🙏
And the little black schnauzer looking baby - i do wish he got to stay with y'all.... but hope his home in Thailand matches the life Hank has with you....
Know how hard you work and appreciate every life you save.
Don't you just love people sitting on their sofas telling Niall how to run his sanctuary 🤦🏻♀️😂❤️🇮🇹
Ha! They only care about their feelings. Selfish people are everywhere 🤦🏻♀
Thank you for helping and giving the dogs a second chance in life❤❤❤❤
Prayers little Angels 🙏🏼🕊️💛🥺😢🐕🦴🐾🫶🏼🤗🥰❤️🌈🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💞
Thank you so much 🥰
Thank u Volunteer 🐕🐕🐾🐾🐾🐾❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🫡🤝⏰🏴
Thank you Niall and team for all that you do, every day and every night, to help these dogs have better lives. You are there, we are not, so you know what is best for their situation on Koh Samui. 💝
PREACH!! So sad reading a comment about how it hurt her feeling that she won't be able to see a certain dog in the land anymore. SO selfish person!
Super update, interesting to hear the story behind the chains. Fantastic that Libbey & Rusty are finally free. Also love your reasoning for not being a shelter. These solutions will contribute to better changes for the dogs in the long run ❤
I like that when possible there is a plan for these dogs to have a forever home.
Thank you 💙🙏💙🙏💙🙏💙🙏💙
Im so so happy these 2 dogs are free at last thanks guys
❤Billy looks like a mini version of my beautiful Luna. The world needs more people like you.
Thanks you ❤❤
Thank You! ❤
So many wise, wise words in this video. I've seen some well-meaning rescues turn into warehouses not far off from the end scene of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" through not being able to say "what are my goals and my boundaries, who can I actually HELP, and specifically HOW can I help them?" In the long run many more are helped by sticking to a plan.
Agree as well about dogs who might seem bonded when they come in - often they may have been "comrades in arms" surviving in a tough spot, but they turn out to have not much in common at all when they are in a better place and their individual personalities can blossom. Let each be the star of their own show! 🥰
As a rescue Mum in South Wales totally agrees with you about giving the love to our four legged family member. We don't know what happened before she came to us, but she's spoiled with love, time and she rules the roost.
PS Billy's operation is April, so looking forward to him seeing properly
Goodness!!! Thank you so much for saving them 💕💕💕💕
It's a great transition space for the dogs. Makes sense to keep them moving to make room for more dogs who need critical care.
Bless you
Thank you for all you do x
You got the other dog free now! Congrats!
So incredibly happy for Billy. Also thank God for Terry feeding Libby and Rusty. God bless her.
God bless the the lovely kind, quite dogs. Take care and give the dogs a home adopt! poor dog suffering, it s real evil
That neighbour will receive karma. However why did those people get a dog if only to chain the poor things. Thank goodness they have you now, they are beautiful.
He explained it and said the dogs had been free to roam until the people's neighbour killed one of their dogs and said if their other dogs went onto their property, they'd kill them also. So, they chained them up to keep the neighbour from killing them.
@@JayNAmyHiatt I know them reason why, however why weren't the dogs kept inside and taken outside on a lead for walks ?.
@@nickywilks7928 They should have been. Life on a chain is a miserable life. On the one hand, they were trying to keep the dogs from being killed by the neighbor but, on the other hand, they should have found them another home. It seems that you’re like me and see dogs as part of the family. Sadly, there are people in the world that just see them as property. It hurts my heart.
Thank you so much Happy Doggo team! I trust in your judgment, Niall ♥♥
Thank god all these beautiful pups have been saved, than you all so much xx
It's heart warming to see what you are doing for these dogs.
I'm so happy that you have these dog the dogs don't have a voice the people are their voice
Thank you for the update on these beautiful animals.
Shame on those neighbors. Wow. I cannot believe how cruel people are. I was going to say she looks like Cindy Crawford. Look how loving they are ❤❤❤❤
Luv the tour and updates on all the doggies. Pls do more like these ❤🐶🐕🏡🙏❤️👨🦲

👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤
Would love to do a vlog on your place if its possible, hoped help

I think it depends on the country and the neighbors of dogs in the streets whether dogs can be live there free roaming without conrete hazard or harm or hate by persons. A shelter maybe the right place like in romania.
love them all but that little boy Billy
I have the same situation with dog over one year on chan, and i dont know what to do.i came and u release him but this old lady yell at me,and im so sad now,i Will try to help him somehow
Rusty has weak legs not just from the chain, but bc that horrible child kept jumping on his back. Saw it in your initial Tweet. Hopefully the parents and child were given an educational lesson that dogs aren't horses.
Big Sky Country, I’m so proud. BTW, I didn’t know Hank got a forever gone?
Hank is adopted by Niall, so he lives forever with him now ☺
@@furansizuka - Yes thank you, that’s what I thought but I took it to mean another home. Glad he’s still with Niall, after all he loves his couch!
Have you spoken to the owners about not just getting new dogs and putting them on chains? X

Horrible evil and incredibly ignorant. Makes me sick
You're making a huge mistake letting go of Billy, specially if he's going to someone in Thailand as you've said before. He has already made a bond with you guys, so you're essentially retraumatizing him by sending him off somewhere else new. He's a street dog, has always lived on the streets, has no concept of "having his own family and being an only dog in a home." I don't think that is the best decision for him. I think he'd be much happier there with you guys, in an environment that is familiar to him, with his friends. He is a very special dog. It's quite sad you don't see it, and you're putting him up for adoption like any other dog...
What a h0rrible comment. Shows you don't trust the experienced Happy Doggo team at all.
Every couple of months there is a dog who everyone says the same thing about, and they all end up happy and loving life. We literally can't keep every dog - we'd end up overrun and not able to help anyone. Billy has recovered remarkably well and we'll do everything we can to find him the perfect home. We actually think Billy has been a pet and wasn't a street dog all his life and would fit in really well to a home environment. ❤
Billy will thrive in a forever home with someone to love him as he deserves.
@@wearehappydoggo I've been a follower since the beginning of Niall's journey and there was never a dog as special as Billy. I didn't even follow the adoptions of your other dogs. Really worried he'll be adopted to someone in Thailand (for the obvious reasons), and equally worried he'll be adopted abroad and have to travel at his old age. He loves Niall and the rest of the crew, that is his home now. Why retraumatize again? It's just not right, sorry.
