Can we see how hyper rounds and these smaller rounds work in those nerf grenades and claymore that everyone was talking about a while ago? Back then it seemed the smallest option was nerf rival rounds or dart tips and im curious if these make them more practical

I wanna personally thank you for your work and contributions to the modding community. If it wasn't for your wiring diagrams I wouldn't have figured out how to properly rewire all my blasters. Keep the hilarious content coming!
I knew as soon as I saw those Valken Gotcha balls on reddit that they had real potential for shotgun blasters. I just wished they were *slightly* less expensive.
I wish that we could get a rocket that is like a mini grenade that launches valken rounds that can be launched from a wrist mounted blaster, it would be really cool and take advantage of how practical valken rounds can be
One thing Hyper has going for it is the Pop with a Black Light. They don’t store the energy and glow themselves, but if the light is on them it’s a similar effect florescent paint. American Foam posted a short video on it a number of weeks ago, so I tried it one night. Also Capt. If you still have those worker Grenades, I’d love to know how many of those 50cal balls would fit. I was sorely disappointed with the number of hyper because they didn’t smush…. But the spread was really good. Most landed within 15ft, but a couple hit 40ft
I am literally in tears of laughter with the loading of 3 rounds but shooting of 4 meaning it did indeed vacuum load one of the previous rounds and you can even hear it doing so I do believe which is part of what makes it so funny.
Having a mod idea centered around the valken rounds, and its not terrible i dont think. Adventure Force Sportsman. Create some sort of false bottom, add a funnel system, that plus gravity should only allow only 1 round chambering at a time. Hell, whole system could be 1 piece 3d printed, and reversible too.
I love the lab coat! Also i would love to see a proton pack for the .50 cal rnds in a unassuming flywheel blaster..... ideas they are flying!!! MUHAHAHAHAHA!!! Edit: i love the magazine would try it!!!
There is a spray paint they sell at craft stores called Design Master Colortool for painting silk flowers and such that is safe to use on different types of foam. If a different color is not available for the Valken balls (that is dangerously close to Vulcan balls and we don't want to anger Spock) then it might be possible to paint them a bright orange to see them better in grass. It is a fairly "dry" paint and doesn't make things stick together easily. Plus you'd have ammo in your colors. Also, it seems that we already have something capable of using Valkens in a magazine form: Harmonica "clipizines". Brass barrel a 10-shot harmonica mag and you have a 30+ round pump shotgun. Or take something like the Adventure Force Villainator and wreak havoc. 120 rounds AND a changeable drum? You might get away with just a strip of electrical tape in each barrel instead of brassing each one. I would also like to know how well the Valkens would do in a Nerf grenade or claymore.
iirc OutOfDarts made a PSA to not paint Rival rounds, because they end up ruining blaster internals (he has a video on it from a while ago). The same might also happen with valken rounds, so I wouldn't recommend it
@@gyrosoftalt I could definitely see regular spray paint damaging internals, but this paint is specifically made for painting different types of foam. Another alternative may be RIT dye, might be worth a try. Or maybe just send an email to Valken and see if they make alternative colors, I've never understood why they didn't make darts and other ammo fluorescent orange to begin with.
Wonder if dunking the .50 balls in magnetic paint would ruin them or if the paint would be strong enough to pick them up with a magnet cart, if it worked you could just have a tow behind trailer picking them up for you, but I don't know that the paint is nearly that good.
For the little rocket barrels, instead of taping them to your connectors, you should buy one of Out Of Darts's receivers that are meant to be put on a nexus pro and permanently attach it to a threaded connector, that way you can put any little rocket on any of your air blaster as it will be GODULAR! (Godly modular)
You can tell this man is serious about SCIENCE! He’s wearing a lab coat, which outside of writing down the results, means your not screwing around. Though in all honesty, I do like that someone can look at a video like this and if they wanted, try to replicate the result you got, or come up with something different.
@@CaptainXavier I watched to the end, the reason why I ask is because of the barrel and they might get stuck or not have a lot of power due to constantly rubbing on the inside of the barrel.
Idea for the hammer shot a load out where you have different ammo in the 3d printed cylinders to confound the opponents so they don't know what you are going to shoot next
I like the idea of using the mags to shotgun those 50 caliber balls. Though I would recommend making it the length of a full sized mag, only because it would allow for independent mag chambers on the mag so that the balls don't necessarily have to be loaded in multiple of 2, 3, 4, or how ever many the mag can fit across
Great video! I think the one thing I would add is either text on screen saying which rounds you're currently testing, or timestamps in the description for each type of round
A little unrelated to shotguns but I had an idea of trying to turn the ultra 2 into some kind of hopper fed blaster instead of cylinder, it would need one of the elite cages to fire valkens but it may fire hyper with the stock cage.
I need a Vulcan with belts chambered for those Valken rounds, a true full-auto belt fed shotgun >:))) also if the smaller ammo types become popular there needs to be knockoff variants that glow under a blacklight, so they can be found more easily
In the case of the valken rounds, I'd bet you could breach load them into a non takedown elite caliburn like Ullr. Also, I vaguely remember Dr. Flux experimenting with the valken ammo about a week before, running them through a commandfire.
I think for indoor games and for a last ditch buckshot blaster these smaller rounds have potential, but anything that's going to dump more plastic outside is a step in the wrong direction for the hobby.
I sent the aluminum and blue rival barrels. (Both materials had single barrel and triple barrel models included.) They worked well for me. The single barrel and triple barrel would fire up to 9 each. The single barrel would group fairly tight with 8 and spread more rapidly with 9. The triple barrel would group tightly with any multiple of 3. I used them on a drain blaster. (I don't know how an XBZ compares.) (The blue ones come from the Dollar Tree as blowguns.) The following is copped/edited from an old email. The single barrels can hold 1 to 9 rounds at a time and spread differently based on round count and brand. The scar barrel holds the groups together for smaller round counts but spreads a full 9 out rapidly for some reason. The absolvers can hold up to 3 per barrel and seem to group a little differently based on brand. When working on some rival shotgun projects I found three barrel materials that work for my application, 1" PEX, Aluminum tube; and dollar store blowgun. All three have different, bore friction, weight, aesthetics, outside diameter, price points; and ease of use. (The blowgun is cheap, light and has low bore friction but can be hard to cut straight because it is squishy, for example.) I found that a single PEX barrel loaded with 9 rounds spreads much faster than 9 rounds in a 3 barreled PEX absolver. I also found that Adventure Force Tactical Strike rounds group much tighter than Nerf rival rounds. (A single barrel of Nerf tends to get 7 of 9 through a door at 15'.The 3 barreled absolver will get all 9 Nerf through a door at 25'.)
Personally not much of a fan of these increasingly smaller rounds, as a nerfer who doesn't have a large personal property and very few arenas nearby, I absolutely HAVE to go to parks and they just aren't possible to easily pick up.
ive seen the same criticism for hyper on most of the other nerftubers and I'm curious, do you think different colors (like safety orange) would be a better color, or do you think the ammo is just getting to small for grass based locations? Rival seemed to have the balance right for me and since the ammo was larger the rounds tended to sit on top of most grass, but hyper and others in size tend the slip right through
