A disabled child in the Ghana (back in the day AND in the village) is different from your "paralympics" disabled child in the West. Yes, this is very tragic. But consider that his own mother probably seeing disabled people literally drag themselves on mud roads their whole life might have been trying to spare her grandchild dignity.
