- Unboxing and playing the new Genos2. Only had a short amount of time before having to head out to work but couldn't resist unboxing as fast as I could so I could try some of the new sounds and styles.
Every sound you hear in this video is made on the Genos2.

All the sounds were good, especially Yamaha's electronic piano sounds. And I think genos2's wind instrument sound is really real and has an oriental feel.😊

I sold my Genos 1 when COVID hit. As a result, tourism died, all gigs were cancelled and all the work stopped. I haven't gigged since then. The only reason I can buy Genos 2 is when I guarantee to work again and get revenue from it. Yes, it's expensive keyboard when you play it at home for fun and nothing else but it's not expensive at all when you gig and get a decent monthly income from gigging to cover its high cost in 5 working months.

I wish I was younger and at the age when I purchased my first Hammond Organ. I loved it at the time but this one knocks spots off it. Alas, I am in my autumn years now and I do not have long to enjoy the full benefits of this superb piece of kit. I envy you so much, my friend.

If this keyboard is within your reach, my advice is go for it! Just because you are in your autumn years as you put it, that doesn’t matter. You state that you don’t have long to enjoy the full benefits…in my opinion, that’s even more reason to take the plunge…enjoy it while you can I say :)

If I could invest in a Yamaha Genos 2, I would but I have just bought the next best thing which is the Yamaha PSR-SX900 (described by many as a 'Baby Genos'). The Genos 2 sounds amazing.

The stand is the Yamaha L-7B. It is very very very stable. I use it with the Yamaha CP88 piano

Nothing says Rock'N Roll like a giant music stand, a giant screen, a zillion LED buttons and a couple of PC speakers.. lol.. Still it sounds nice, for the most part. You'll be hearing this in every Asian hotel lounge covering all classics for a long time to come, I'm afraid :)

Untuk kualitas voice/tone, memang terdengar menakjubkan.. Tapi maaf untuk Style/Rhythm preset bagi pengguna Yamaha S-Series lebih dari 10 tahun, terdengar biasa saja.. Malah terkesan keyboard ini dibuat hanya untuk keyboardist yang usianya 50 tahun, apalagi melihat harganya, jika dikonversikan ke mata uang negara saya sekita 85 juta 😢 itu cukup untuk membeli mobil bekas dengan kondisi istimewa atau membangun sebuah studio musik lengkap dengan satu set alat band nya 😂

The speaker system is an optional extra. Perfect for home use. You can also utilise the main L&R outputs for a PA system when performing.

For such an expensive instrument, I'd have expected much better packaging than just plonked in a cardboard box with some polystyrene. not even an internal branded box. 5 grand! With how some carriers treat packages, leaving them in cold warehouses over the weekend etc, I'd expect a lot better packaging for my money.

I expected Genos 2 to be better than Genos 1, but there is not much difference between them.

Genos 3 will be in the next 3 years.

@shakti.rathore Genos 2 got minor updates like Tyros 3, 4, 5. When you get less update, they will release within 3 years. Genos 2 is a small medication to save the sales against PA5X pro.
@@DANIEL-gl1tr makes sense. I was skeptical because it took them 6 years to release an upgrade from the genos 2017.. if they release a bigger update within couple of years, i’d save my investment and directly buy a genos3. Or if i have to buy sooner, i’d go with the older genos which might have been selling at a discount

Poentially useful and interesting spoilt by overly loud and unnescessary "background" noise (music?)
This is a expensive keyboard, yet Yamaha used cheap protective foarm. The Korg Pa5x is packed with way better foarm which gives a safer feeling.
Well, the next time I need "protective foam" rather than great sounds and easy playability, I'll be sure to think of Korg!

Be sure to use headphones or a good set of speakers. Phone/Tablets are great for watching but they don’t allow for hearing the quality of the audio!
@@ConsciousKeys I think Yamaha use of effects and EQ even more on Genos 2 whole sounds, so the Genos is a kind of pre-mastered arranger. Everything is shimmering and seems to sound good, but it's a kind of makeup.
