I love this track but there something missing to give it appeal to the general public but I just can’t put my figure on it. Is it just too slow. Is the instrumentation just too simple. When you see the subtle changes Arif Mardin made to It Doesn’t Matter ... another Kick track it makes you wonder what he could have done.

Charade, Had a Lot of Love Last Night, Lost In Your Love, Songbird, Country Lanes, Come on Over would tell you that. He didn’t produce WIBS but I’ll wager if he were to have redone it the chorus would have been in harmony not unison and a higher BPM
