- Lucy the giraffe passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest while in labour in Feb 2019.
We commemorate her time at the Singapore Zoo, along with other iconic residents who have passed, such as Ah Meng the orangutan and Inuka the polar bear.

I remember meeting ah meng,inuka and his parents and omar❤watching inuka grow and my heart broke when i got to know ah meng died and the last i heard omar died...god bless their souls and gives them a great life next birth they always lived in my heart and will always remain my heart

Inuka was the first polar bear I've witnessed as a child...can't believe he passed...

The white tiger actually killed a man during 2008, I think it was a suicide

No the cleaner was cleaning and accidently fell in the hole between the visitors and the tigers which had more tigers
I know my uncle told me in the zoo next to the tigers

I went to a school overnight camp (1 night) at the Zoo. The day we arrived was the last day we saw Inuka. The next day, the park officials told us he died. I remember crying because I saw him since 2010 and it was very sad.
Ye Inuka had to be put down since he was suffering tons of health issues
Basically u probably saw Inuka a few hours before they put him down
Can relate bro. I grew up seeing him swimming around in his old pool and his newly built exhibit. Cried when i found out he was put down

dear owners of the Singapore Zoo. I am Anton from Moscow Russia. I visited your zoo and was extremely outraged by the conditions in which POLAR BEARS live. their natural environment is 30-40 degrees Celsius, but they live at + 30-40 (despite the fact that visitors are in a cool room) in Moscow it is not so hot in the summer, but the polar bear has a mountain of snow in its cave at any time of the year. I watched the animal suffer with my own eyes... for whom death is better than such a life. you must have compassion for endangered animals, do not mock them. this sight ruined my entire vacation in Malaysia.

Hello Anton, Inuka was a Polar Bear born in the tropics, he would not have felt snow his whole life, at the time of his death, he was suffering tons of health issues, may I ask when was your time of visit?
That's the greatest animal abuse you've ever seen? And its enough to ruin your trip? Just stay home bro. Who knows what might break your heart next.
Keeping a single whale in small space is far worse. Singapore zoo while not being perfect is a ok zoo for animals. Have you even seen the zoos in other countries.
While all animals should belong in the wild etc. Singapore zoo is a ok zoo conditions wise compared to some of the zoos in other countries.
The bear you saw at the time of your visit was already sickly because of ulcer and arthritis. He was already very old in terms of polar bear age. It was born in the 90s in the zoo. Nobody knew the mom was pregnant until it gave birth. Its keeper care for it a lot. Go and lookup final days of inuka from CNA. Everyone tried their best for the bear you can't just call it abuse.
