  • Rock star Frankie Banali is the drummer for Quiet Riot. He spoke to Fox 5's Steve Lacy about the many ups and downs of his long career, his family, and his friendship with the late QR frontman Kevin DuBrow -- topics that play out in the documentary "Quiet Riot: Well Now You're Here, There's No Way Back," directed by Regina Russell.
The Queens native has lived in Los Angeles for 40 years, but says that he gets back in the New York groove very easily and quickly when he comes to visit.

Frankie Banali is one of the nicest, most humble and down to earth musicians I have ever met. I shook hands with him and got an autograph from the whole band about 15 years ago in a small venue outside Detroit. All of them were great, but Frankie was especially nice, and thanked me for coming to the show, and didn't mind talking to the fans for quite a while.

Very impressed with Steve Lacy on this interview. Probably one of the best interviews I have heard. He was very well prepared and knew the history and what he was asking. Hope to see him move onto greater things in the entertainment industry. Frankie was always open and forthcoming and willing to be truthful with his feelings and thoughts. RIP to one of Rock's best drummers and human beings!
