Till this day it pisses me off that EA cut the support for this game in favor of the new battlefield game which in turn ended up flopping. Battlefront 2 was just starting to get support again especially with all of the new maps and heroes that were getting added. Legit could’ve had new heroes like ahsoka, ventress, cad bane, Rex, cal kestis, hell maybe even merrin or new maps. Just sucks man

As someone who played the original PS2 games, I loved this one when I found it in 2020 and am totally not bothered by lacking updates. I don’t consider that to be “killing” the game since that’s practically what happened with every video game upon release before everything was online and needed updates every few months to keep people interested.
Man I am still surprised that BF2 had that massive comeback(including Fallout 76). Even though the live service is dead for Battlefront, I still play it. I love using Luke, Han, and Anakin. Plus it’s pretty cool to check out the beautiful maps now & then.
100%. I just want a og battlefront 2 again. Like just a good star wars game. An insane amount of money would be made. I also kind of wish we could get an Extraction Shooter based on Clone Wars. No lightsabers or force unless it is a boss. But the amount of cosmetics they could drop for armor and the way the guns are. Ugggg I think it would be so cool. AI would just be the clankers and others. I don't think it will be done though.
On xbox you can still find games fast for these gamemodes: heroes vs villians, heroes showdown, starfighter assault, blast, strike/extrection, ewok hunt, coop. And with fast i mean under 2 minutes, for the bigger gamemodes being supremecy and galactic assault you can find lobbies but it will take longer around 5 minutes but sometimes really fast.
Thank You for this great tribute to the game and it’s reign of greatness until it’s unfortunate downfall. As a console Player, I give You the good news that my lobbies for the US are much better and spread across the smaller modes. I’m always able to get in a game of Starfighter, Strike, Blast, and even Ewok Hunt! All of these games are usually filled with players so we’re still going strong back here. I hope one day this game can find some sort of redemption arc again one day.
IMO all the stuff that was said here can be applied for BFV aswell since it was bad at launch but it was getting better till they stop in favor for BF2042
EA pulling the plug on Battlefront II AND Battlefield V to put dev resources to 2042 is the DUMBEST thing maybe ever in gaming history. BFV was also hitting its stride with the Pacific update. Shell of a WWII game now.
I will never understand EAs choice to abandon this game. The amount of money they could have made from micro transactions for cosmetics would be huge. The possibilities for cosmetics and skins in Star Wars is nearly endless
The market was saturated, there was nothing left for them to do with it. Whatever mustafar update they were thinking of would clearly cost them more money than they would bring in, so they scrapped it.
After the lootbox disaster they promised that all post launch content would be free. That basically killed the game. Sure some new people would buy the game with every update but there would have been a point where that wouldn't even pay for the devs working on them.
I came for a bit of nostalgia from a game I played years ago, but man, you really put music from all my favorite series/movies in the background. Almost made me tear up
6 months ago as I built my first PC, I finally got to try this on PC. I had played it on the PS4 a little bit before the support was cut, but I now have 360 hours on it, been absolutely loving it. The game is alive and well, although sometimes you'll have to wait 5-10 minutes for a supremacy match. If everyone were patient, it wouldn't take longer than 5, ever. I digress. The game against all odds, has a future. Kyber v2 is the lifeline the fanbase has thrown it's way. It'll be a launcher that, among other things, allows players to host their own private servers, automatically install mods, see their stats and much more. It's coming out somewhere in the coming months... Keep an eye out for that folks. But even without Kyber, the game is still very much playable and enjoyable. 360 hours in 6 months time proves that. :D
I think the modders for the game are really bringing it back to life. Adding new heroes and reinforcements, and soon maps, is definitely going to get some more players!
I literally downloaded it today after not playing for a year-ish. Still haven’t played it but the memories playing with my friends will never be forgotten
Little tip from a guy who still plays this game often, i am playing on PS and live in the western US, i can fairly consistently find any mode, if you have options and want to play this game it is most alive on playstation from what i have seen, ps+ including this game really helped give it more life, although the problems still remain where every lobby is either noobs or sweats with little in between.
I have more hours in this game than any other. Such a beautiful and well made game to this day, and there are still fully lobbies on every game mode on Xbox and PC. EA really missed out. Also, side note, your video quality is AMAZING I kept on thinking this was a 500k plus sub channel, you deserve the world keep up the good work!

I wish we got a hero class named commander/Captin And here is how it could work Points needed 4,000 Skins Rex, Cody, and others Kit stun grenade, enhanced map that includes precise enemy locations and your player is hidden from opponents map, middle ability is called for the republic this gives 50 bonus health to all sounding units and no blaster cool down you also get squad spawn anywhere even in mid battle and you spawn 2 ai units to help defend you Skins each skin gets its own blaster like Rex will get his normal blaster pistols with a 10 percent damage markup from the arc trooper pistols Cody will get his normal gun with a 10 percent markup and any other skins will get there cannon weapon with a markup. What do you guys think.

I know the PC community was thriving off of mods for this game and honestly it just makes me think of what could have been for the base game.
If this game had private servers it would be the greatest Battlefront of all time. If it had support and new content coming out like Fortnight it would be the greatest game in all of Star Wars.
What gets me is they had finally gotten the formula right and it because an actual very very good game and as soon as they got it right they gave up support

Those were the days man and the best as we had also the sequel trilogy releasing at the time too. I still play to this day, originally on PS4 then to XBOX One now finally settled on PC. Population is all over the place, often playing with the Ping Site settings under EA Account to get a lobby on Blast or Strike in Germany mainly as I’m in Western Australia lol. But Kyber V2 is looking for play testers now of which I’m going to partake in. Something to look into for your OzzyJedi channel if you were keen?. Again great video man 🍻
Biggest tragedy is that now BF has been dropped again, even if it gets resurrected the next dev will start from scratch and the game will be empty at launch as always.
Idk how u didnt find any hackers as there are at least 1 almost every GA game, and pretty often on the 2 hero modes. For some reason, supremacy is the best to avoid the big hackers but u can always find some dmg/xp/wallhack hackers there
The final product of this game is high quality and still enjoyable. There’s so much potential if they were to use the final structure and expand on it for a battlefront 3. For campaign make it during the prequel clone wars era and you can choose a class similar to swtor. If you choose Jedi, you start in the geonosis arena, experience the clone wars, survive order 66, and fight for the rebels up to rogue one era. If you go sith you are like the Galen Marek for Dooku and fight through the clone wars and become a rogue similar to Maul. If you’re a bounty hunter or trooper you experience the clone wars and post clone wars similar to Rex and boba fett. For multiplayer bring maps from the original battlefronts. You can use your own created player for a hero or even just use the heroes from the movie. Include heroes like Ashoka and Ventress. If they were to allow you to create your own character similar to Kotor or Swtor with the current game engine, I think a Battlefront 3 could really succeed. Just an idea.
On the one hand I’m happy that the game is still active, on the other hand it kind of ruins it when you get spawn killed and lose within 5 minutes from the level 900 sweatlords who jump and one shot you across the map.
ea really had the chance to establish two long running cash cows a few years ago with BF2 and BFV. It is baffling they passed on it for a much crappier BF2042.
when the game is this far away from its prime, hackers aren't abundant like they are in BOII or BOIII, they have relented and left, because hacking in this game (moreso than most) just isnt fun

Ignoring the glitches, lightsaber parrying, balancing, the fact that Grevious only uses for lightsabers for 1 move and the fact that characters that aren’t Dooku have 3 dodges, Battlefront 2 today, is what it should have been back then
I remember when it first came out, I was so disappointed with all bs. But when they released the Geonosis update, I got roped back in, and started having a blast. Its a shame EA pulled the plug
It’s a pattern with EA, DICE not just with respect to bf2. Bfv,battlefield 1 and battlefield 2042 all released at a subpar level. They worked hard to get the games to a very good state. And then just when things got promising, they cut all support to ‘focus’ on the next project.
Nothing can redeem that campaign story though In regards to multiplayer, still wish they gave instant action singleplayer actual consideration, because eventually (to many it already is) this will be unplayable on actual multiplayer
It's really sad that the battlefront series is probably the most tragic of Star Wars games because i dont think we'll never see a game with its full extent and with a variety of characters, vehicles and planets that should've been added and we'll never see in modern aesthetics. Plus, it didn't make it better with Aspyrs' battlefront collection.
I left this game shortly because it was imposible to play. You can say its a skill isue its fine but the whole gameplay in multiplayer is spawning and respawning because there would be half or couple of sweats blowing up lobbys because matchmaking sucks. And your only hope is Singleplayer or Co-op as the new player. Also idk about consols but GA gamemode is filled with annoying hackers that teleport all people around, brake lobbys by for example deleting AT-AT on endor and activate camera bug that makes your camera go around the whole map, making impossible to play the game since you don't see your character. And also game is kinda toxic. I found Hero showdown and HVW be the most toxic gamemodes because everyone has huge egos and can't simply chill. Thats what I found in this game.
I've never wanted a game studio/company to shut down as much as I did when EA pulled the plug on BF2. No game had ever seen such abysmal depths and such monumental heights as BF2 did over it's life cycle, and yet, on it's highest peak, EA forces DICE, a studio that was made of some of the most passionate Star Wars fans, to stop developing the Star Wars game of their dreams, to work on BF2042, on a crunching time goal. EA deserves to shut down. I've not played a single EA game since BF2, even though the Jedi games are really good, I refuse to give money to such a tyrannical company.
I honestly have zero desire for a battlefront 3, I love the mechanics and class systems and reinforcements and stuff that battlefront 2 has. I don’t want battlefront 3 I just want more updates. Not to mention that a battlefront 3 almost certainly wouldn’t include sequel content which would just be stupid. I love being able to play in all 3 eras

I bought the celebration edition last year for $4.99. Played today, not too hard to find a match on any mode. EA is the kiss of death for most games. All they care about is making as much money as possible. Pay to win is their specialty and it’s bled into other devs/companies as well. The games very playable, I would never say no to more content, but that time passed back in 2020. The game doesn’t generate the revenue to justify having a team of developers at this point. As long as the servers stay on I’m happy.
Star Wars has been murdered and its corpse desecrated under Disney. I haven’t paid for a Disney product in about 8 or 9 years with the exception of Deadpool and Wolverine yesterday.
One thing that THIS Battlefront 2 does far better than the og is UNDENIABLY the heroes and hero modes. Idc what your nostalgia goggles want you to see, the hero gameplay in og BF2 is awful compared to the 2017 game. Nothing but saber throws, and braindead spamming with awful targeting for saber heroes.
It's a mix of hilarious and sad that the game finally started to make a huge comeback.......only to get abandoned by EA for Battlefront 2042, a game that failed even harder. Even after giving it away in the Epic Store and it getting over a million new players, they still did nothing with it.

Well the game itself wasn't the backlash. It was the monetization. Though I do think the campaign SUCKS

tbh i struggle to find lobbies in this game anymore, its a shame, i used to love it.

For me it’s like it never ended. I can find so much 20v20 matches in less than 3 minutes.

Idk how u didnt find any hackers as there are at least 1 almost every GA game, and pretty often on the 2 hero modes. For some reason, supremacy is the best to avoid the big hackers but u can always find some dmg/xp/wallhack hackers there
The final product of this game is high quality and still enjoyable.
There’s so much potential if they were to use the final structure and expand on it for a battlefront 3. For campaign make it during the prequel clone wars era and you can choose a class similar to swtor. If you choose Jedi, you start in the geonosis arena, experience the clone wars, survive order 66, and fight for the rebels up to rogue one era. If you go sith you are like the Galen Marek for Dooku and fight through the clone wars and become a rogue similar to Maul. If you’re a bounty hunter or trooper you experience the clone wars and post clone wars similar to Rex and boba fett. For multiplayer bring maps from the original battlefronts. You can use your own created player for a hero or even just use the heroes from the movie. Include heroes like Ashoka and Ventress. If they were to allow you to create your own character similar to Kotor or Swtor with the current game engine, I think a Battlefront 3 could really succeed. Just an idea.
On the one hand I’m happy that the game is still active, on the other hand it kind of ruins it when you get spawn killed and lose within 5 minutes from the level 900 sweatlords who jump and one shot you across the map.
ea really had the chance to establish two long running cash cows a few years ago with BF2 and BFV. It is baffling they passed on it for a much crappier BF2042.
when the game is this far away from its prime, hackers aren't abundant like they are in BOII or BOIII, they have relented and left, because hacking in this game (moreso than most) just isnt fun

Ignoring the glitches, lightsaber parrying, balancing, the fact that Grevious only uses for lightsabers for 1 move and the fact that characters that aren’t Dooku have 3 dodges, Battlefront 2 today, is what it should have been back then
Pc player here. I have been playing battlefront for around 2 to 3 years now and I have encountered 2 hackers in that time
I used to LOVE this game. When I head EA would stop servicing the game, I stopped. I still have a lot of Optimism for Battlefront 3
I remember when it first came out, I was so disappointed with all bs. But when they released the Geonosis update, I got roped back in, and started having a blast. Its a shame EA pulled the plug
It took them way too long to have the classic control point mode. A galactic conquest campaign would make it amazing.
It’s a pattern with EA, DICE not just with respect to bf2. Bfv,battlefield 1 and battlefield 2042 all released at a subpar level. They worked hard to get the games to a very good state. And then just when things got promising, they cut all support to ‘focus’ on the next project.
Nothing can redeem that campaign story though
In regards to multiplayer, still wish they gave instant action singleplayer actual consideration, because eventually (to many it already is) this will be unplayable on actual multiplayer

It's really sad that the battlefront series is probably the most tragic of Star Wars games because i dont think we'll never see a game with its full extent and with a variety of characters, vehicles and planets that should've been added and we'll never see in modern aesthetics. Plus, it didn't make it better with Aspyrs' battlefront collection.
I left this game shortly because it was imposible to play. You can say its a skill isue its fine but the whole gameplay in multiplayer is spawning and respawning because there would be half or couple of sweats blowing up lobbys because matchmaking sucks. And your only hope is Singleplayer or Co-op as the new player. Also idk about consols but GA gamemode is filled with annoying hackers that teleport all people around, brake lobbys by for example deleting AT-AT on endor and activate camera bug that makes your camera go around the whole map, making impossible to play the game since you don't see your character. And also game is kinda toxic. I found Hero showdown and HVW be the most toxic gamemodes because everyone has huge egos and can't simply chill. Thats what I found in this game.
I've never wanted a game studio/company to shut down as much as I did when EA pulled the plug on BF2.
No game had ever seen such abysmal depths and such monumental heights as BF2 did over it's life cycle, and yet, on it's highest peak, EA forces DICE, a studio that was made of some of the most passionate Star Wars fans, to stop developing the Star Wars game of their dreams, to work on BF2042, on a crunching time goal.
EA deserves to shut down. I've not played a single EA game since BF2, even though the Jedi games are really good, I refuse to give money to such a tyrannical company.
I honestly have zero desire for a battlefront 3, I love the mechanics and class systems and reinforcements and stuff that battlefront 2 has. I don’t want battlefront 3 I just want more updates. Not to mention that a battlefront 3 almost certainly wouldn’t include sequel content which would just be stupid. I love being able to play in all 3 eras

I bought the celebration edition last year for $4.99. Played today, not too hard to find a match on any mode. EA is the kiss of death for most games. All they care about is making as much money as possible. Pay to win is their specialty and it’s bled into other devs/companies as well. The games very playable, I would never say no to more content, but that time passed back in 2020. The game doesn’t generate the revenue to justify having a team of developers at this point. As long as the servers stay on I’m happy.
Star Wars has been murdered and its corpse desecrated under Disney. I haven’t paid for a Disney product in about 8 or 9 years with the exception of Deadpool and Wolverine yesterday.

One thing that THIS Battlefront 2 does far better than the og is UNDENIABLY the heroes and hero modes.
Idc what your nostalgia goggles want you to see, the hero gameplay in og BF2 is awful compared to the 2017 game. Nothing but saber throws, and braindead spamming with awful targeting for saber heroes.
It's hacked 24/7 and literally unplayable.

It's a mix of hilarious and sad that the game finally started to make a huge comeback.......only to get abandoned by EA for Battlefront 2042, a game that failed even harder.
Even after giving it away in the Epic Store and it getting over a million new players, they still did nothing with it.
Still hate EA for this! I never have paid EA a cent since they pulled the plug, and never will either
