How long have you been driving since you first noticed the rattle?

Replace the tensioners on the timing belt.. now I can go past 4000 rpm and no more oil low warnings this can go very bad to a rattle noise that goes away after 3 secnrjenncomes the whining then e comes more several engine problems if that 40 dollar part to get replaced

Same with my car as well when it was cold. The sound went away after 2 3 mins then it was smooth. But I drove it to a friend's house for like 30km and then after 3 4 days the oil leakage started. Any idea how to fix it?

The chain tensioners are oil fed so if the cars been standing overnight the fluid drains out of the tensioner until you restart the car and pumps oil back in. That's why it takes a few minutes for the noise to stop.

@@tomjudge6654 is there an immediate need to do the tensioners if you have rattle? I woke up this morning and had rattle for the first time ever for 2 minutes. I’m hoping to do them myself, but it wouldn’t be able to until late spring/early summer.

@@oliverburton8486 funnily enough I have just done an oil and filter change, including an engine flush and the noise has quietened down infact some mornings there is no noise. Maybes the flush has removed any old oil from the tensioner 🤔

Of course the missing follow up from the person posting the video is synonymous with Audi owners asking for help online. Sigh.

Same with my 3.2, common with every v6, it could be related to the cam and lifter clicking, the best fix is to buy a Lexus and steer clear of VW/Audi

All german engine do this after 70-80 k miles .. shitty quality compared to Japanese and American engine

I know I am a little late on this comment but my 2012 a6 with 180k miles that I bought from new York just started having this issue. Anyone who buys an audi or any other German car knows it won't last as long as a japanese car. However that is not why they buy it. It is probably a combination of image, refinement and engagement. German cars are just nicer to drive than American and japanese cars. And you can get them for cheap. I bought mine for 6500. So please stop spreading lies to people that ALL German cars will start to chain rattle after 70k miles. I guarantee this car has been beat and not had the oil changed regularly. There are good reliable German cars just like there are unreliable japanese cars.

German machines is known for the whole world. And not just cars. They do it better. Only German cars in lithuania where Sumer 30+C and winters can get up to -30 German cars drive last. Some cars have clocks at 9999999 and still going. Japan's cars parts expensive. Not so simple to fix as Germans not so nice and very uncomfortable and when they brake they brake as well.. And only few Japan's cars are good, but they are not comfortable at all.. Most a rusty buckets and just crap.

Not truth, Germans vehicles will save your life in a car accident while allplastic American vehicles will probably kill you
