This has to be a new record for Shut the f*ck ups.
It was. 61.
The old record was 40. LoL
@@EOMReacts What was that movie?
I swear, if there's a drinking challenge tied to that, STFU! I'm hitting my bong instead.
Shut the f-ck up. Really?
@@EOMReacts wow crushed it
You noticed the Indiana Jones jacket on Lonestar. Another fun fact about this movie is that when Mel Brooks asked George Lucas for permission to spoof Star Wars, one of Lucas's stipulations was not to dress Lonestar like Han Solo. So Brooks dressed him like Indiana Jones 😂😉
In return for help with some of the special effects from Lucas they had to agree to no movie merch. It was thought that merch would detract from the star wars stuff already out. So they made fun of the drive to capitalize off of movies by showing what wasn’t offered. I think Lucas missed out on a bunch of free money they could have gotten from a percentage of the movie merch.
Correct
@@stevedavis5704pretty sure Lucas isn't hurting for money! 😂
@@stevedavis5704 It’s also why Mel inserted the running gag about merch within the movie itself.
@@stevedavis5704 Always wanted a "Spaceballs the FLAMETHROWER!!!"
"When will then be now?"
"Soon."
Wasn't that a Morrisey song?
The womans voice for Dot is the famous comedian Joan Rivers.
The alien doing the Looney Tunes singing frog bit is pure gold.
I love when it snarls and puts the little hat on!
I still laugh to tears whenever I see it.
I've seen this movie probably 50 times and I'm still dying laughing at that part.
I've seen this movie many times, it was never a favorite. HOWEVER... This was always the funniest part to me growing up because I had definitely seen Alien and Michigan J Frog.
“That might be the greatest ****ing thing I ever saw in my ****ing life.” 🤣🤣🤣
That whole doll scene was improvised by Rick Moranis himself! And while filming the take, he had literally everybody on set cracking up, including George Wyner who played Colonel Sanders. And the reason why Wyner's character bursted into the room so panicky and fidgety was because he was actually trying to hurry through the take before he broke character. 😂🤣😅😂🤣😅
And also, the scene where the four main characters go into Yogurt's temple and they meet him for the first time is actually supposed to be referencing "The Wizard of Oz" when they meet the wizard for the first time. And coincidentally, the scene was filmed in the very same soundstage where "The Wizard of Oz" was filmed at MGM (It's now Sony Pictures Studio). 🤗🥰❤️💓
"The ship is too big. If I walk, the movie will be over"
The actor who yells "We aint found shit" would go on to be a prominent member of the Star Trek: Voyager cast.
He would also state many years later, that his Spaceballs line is what he's most known for lol.
He was also one of the villains from the episode of TNG where they did the whole baryon sweep of the Enterprise. I knew him for years from Star Trek long before I realized that was him in Spaceballs. In fact, I learned that maybe a month or so ago.
_"I am your father's, brother's, nephew's, cousin's former roommate."_
What does that make us?
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
Which is what you shall be soon enough!
The best part is that might mean he was Lonestar's former roommate but it got lost in the convoluted wording.
@@williamharmon4039 or they could have met when Lonestar was still a kid and he jammed his only potential date.
"You idiots! You've captured their stunt doubles!"
The turn of the doubles, and Stephen Tobolowsky's gasp of shock, is my favorite gag of the movie.
That part is priceless
well now I realize that is Stephen Tobolowsky!
I love how when Moranis has the helmet on he talks deep and then open he talks normal. Even in the desert, he closes and opens the eye area and his voice changes. 😂😂
Fun fact that was all his idea the voice and the doll part completely on him and they loved it when he did it lol
Robin Hood - Men in Tights gotta be on your list. Another Mel Brooks classic.
But hopefully Blank makes sure he watches Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves first, since so many of the jokes are riffing off of that one. Plus, it's awesome.
“You and me. Mano a mano. Just me and my GUARDS!!!!!!!”
"If I was that close to a horses' wiener, I'd be afraid of getting pissed on" - Achoo
"did you say Abe Lincoln?"
"No I didn't say able Lincoln, I said HEY BLINKIN."
Rick morans left Hollywood when his wife died of brest cancer he raised the kids by him self
He's a better adult than I could ever hope to be. I hope he has a great support system.
He said he was glad to have the time with his kids
@@michellejackson5011 I'm glad for that too.
He's a good man and a great father
I didn’t know that.
I thought for sure you'd recognize Bill Pullman from Independence Day. Turns out, not on the channel yet. That's a MUST watch
That's what I thought also!! Hopefully when they do ID4, Blank leaves in the speech!!
"Find anything yet?!"
"Nothing yet, sir!"
"How about you?!"
"Not a thing, sir!"
"What about you guys?!"
"We ain't found shit!"
That is the closest to having a Star Wars/Star Trek film crossover that we will ever get.
Young Tuvok had a potty mouth.
Tuvok has a CZcams video about that.
This was my favourite part of the entire movie.
The funny thing to me about that scene I didn't catch until someone else pointed it out: Dark Helmet is using the megaphone to talk to Sandurz right next to him, and shouting at the faraway guys doing the combing.
Fun Fact: The flying Winnebago is called Eagle 5, which is of course also (edit: well, almost) Bill Pullman's callsign as the President in Independence Day.
As the president it was actually Eagle 1.
May The Schwartz Be With You!
Rick Moranis is a Canadian legend. 🎯❤️
Beauty, eh?
Take off, you hosers! We need a reaction to one of film’s greatest Shakespeare adaptations: _Strange Brew._ 😆🍻
Dot was voiced by the legendary Joan Rivers. She’s best known for substituting for Johnny Carson on The Late Show & hosting red carpet commentary at award shows & movie premieres.
And for being a vicious stand-up comedy legend at a time when female comics were almost unheard of.
As well as a talk show where she famously interviewed two legit intergalactic criminals, Oderus Urungus of the planet Scumdoggia and Beefcake the Mighty who originates from the planet Cholesterol
Saw a few "SpaceBalls: The Mask" during COVID. "Merchandising, merchandising, where the real money from the movie is made". Great reaction as always!
Mel Brooks got George Lucas's permission. Lucas only had a couple of requests. No Luke Skywalker character. That is why Lonestar is more Han Solo. Brooks also dressed him like Indiana Jones just to mess with Lucas. Lucas also requested no merchandising. That is why Brooks jokes about all of the merchandising throughout the movie.
I love that the dude from Police academy was in this. Funny as hell
Now you NEED to watch Young Frankenstein
The actor who says "We ain't found shit!" is Tim Russ, who was Tuvok on Star Trek: Voyager
Hands down one of the funniest Mel Brooks comedies and parody films ever. Love the thumbnail by the way.🤣😉
Also _"May the Schwartz be with You!"_
One of my all time favorites, true treasure of a movie. "We cant stop, its too dangerous" "Bullshit! Just stop this thing.."
“Anymore assholes on this ship?”
“YO!!!!”
“I knew it… I’m surrounded by assholes!”
“KEEP FIRING, ASSHOLES!”
This has got to win the STFU award lol
Best thumbnail in youtube history !!! 🤣❤💥💯👍
You need more Mel Brooks. I think Young Frankenstein should be next.
Everyone gets so grossed out at Pizza The Hut but I always thought he looked delicious. That cheese looks amazing!
Same here!!
That's not cheese on pizza the hut it's a sauce or something I found out on another CZcams channel
Comb the desert! We ain't found shit!
“She’s gone from suck to blow.”
Pizza The Hut got that Drip because he’s Super Fresh.
I've lost count of how many "STFU"'s were dropped by the 12 minute mark lol
You re-watch it, look for the Millennium Falcon in the parking lot of the diner at the end. :-) .... I know, STFU!! lol. Yep, it's there!!!
"Before you die there is something you should know about us, Lone Starr."
"What?"
"I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate."
"What's that make us?"
"Absolutely NOTHING!"
Fun Fact: The voice of the self destruct countdown is that of Screenplay Supervisor Julie Pitkanen.
Budget Friendly Fact: During his scene, Michael Winslow did most of the sound effects. In the DVD audio commentary for the movie, Mel Brooks jokes that they saved around $1,000 by letting him do this.
Doll Balls Fact: The scene in which Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) is playing with his dolls was not in the screenplay. Writer, producer, and director Mel Brooks came up with the idea on the set one day and told this to Rick Moranis, who then improvised the entire scene.
Location Location Fact: The castle on the planet Druidia is King Ludwig II's Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. It has been modified by matte painting with additional ramps. Neuschwanstein Castle has been featured in many motion pictures, and it is the original inspiration for all Disney theme park castles.
Star Wars Cameo Fact: The Millennium Falcon from the Star Wars saga makes a cameo appearance in this movie. Take a close look at the exterior shot of the Space Diner, and it can be spotted parked there among the other space vehicles. George Lucas got a chance to read the screenplay before production began, and loved it so much that he decided to have his special effects company, Industrial Light & Magic, help make this movie.
You found a lot of sh*t ! LOL
Lucas's only stipulation was "No Merchandising". That's why Mel Brooks did the Merchandising scene. It was a thinly veiled middle finger to Lucas over that.
Actually lucas had to ok the movie being made, which came at the cost of not making any merch, which is why there's a running gag showing spaceballs merch.
@@possibearHe did not HAVE to okay the movie. Parody is protected from copyright. It was in exchange for using the special effects company that the merchandising was banned.
@Deathbird_Mitch I think it was a thinly-veiled middle finger at how much Star Wars kicked merchandising into overdrive. It existed before Star Wars, just not to the same extent
I love the subtle jokes in this movie! My favorite is in the “We ain’t found shit” scene. Helmet has a bullhorn in his hands and uses it to talk to Col. Sanders who’s sitting right next to him. When he’s done, he puts the bullhorn down and yells across the desert to the guys “combing the desert” LOL
This movie just doesn't get old. It makes it even more fun knowing the movie sppofs that were in it. Loaded Weapon One is another hilarious spoof.
I wonder if anyone has counted the movies referenced...Everything from Star Wars/Trek to Lawrence of Arabia to It Happened One Night.
"Ludicrous Speed~ go!~" and yes that guy the same one from Aliens lol
Little known fact. Mel Brooks asked George Lucas if it was okay to make fun of Star Wars. George said okay but only as long as the main character didn't look like Luke Skywalker. So Mel made him look like Indiana Jones 🙃
This is my childhood right here so iconic
Lake Placid?! Salute your Independence Day President!
Rick Moranis was also great in 1989's Parenthood (with Steve Martin), 1986's Little Shop of Horrors (Steve Martin, John Candy, etc.)
An underrated one where he plays against type is Streets of Fire (1984)
My Blue Heaven
_Parenthood_ is an underrated gem.
dude, i think youre the first reactor to recognize the chest burster in the diner, is the same actor from Alien, John Hurt. most recognize its from Alien, but never put the "oh no, not again!" together. so mad respect to ya buddy!
Fun fact the Pizza the Hut costume was a total fire hazard.
The Actor who says the famous we ain't seen shit line is no other than Tuvok himself Tim Russ from Star Trek Voyager.
Should've used the jar of jam as your censor block.
Who would dare give JL the raspberry?!
Get the counter ready
We need a STFU counter. ESPECIALLY for this movie
“That was my virgin alarm…….it’s programmed to go off BEFORE YOU DO.” 😅😂
😂
When I first saw the alien come out and do his song and dance number, I literally ROFL'd for a good five minutes. My parents had to pause the VCR, but I couldn't stop laughing it was so silly.
I, too. would also like a t-shirt of that as well.
the dancing alien they took from a looney tunes cartoon called one froggy evening, singing frog: michigan j frog, one of my 3 fave cartoons
“Who’s he?”
“He’s an a$$hole sir.”
“I know that! What’s his name?!”
“That is his name sir. A$$hole. Major a$$hole.”
😂
The whole bit of the Main 4 walking along the top of a dune with the "jawas" along with the Temple of Doom scene with the statue of Yogurt are references to the Wizard of Oz. Think about it: Barf is the Lion, Dot is the Tin Man, the princess is Dorothy and Lone Star is the Scarecrow with Yogurt as the Wizard..."jawas" are munchkins.
also the seven dwarfs
The only thing missing is the use of the Wicked Witch music over Dark Helmet.
One of those dinks is Tony Cox from Bad Santa and Me, Myself, and Irene.
At my old job the combination to get into the break room was 12345. Instantly had this scene in my head when they told me and damn near hurt myself laughing 😂
Mushrooms + this movie totally on accident = hilarious
🤷♂️😆👍
Druish princesses tend to be high maintenance and require luxury cars
Funny, they never look Druish!!
Funny, she doesn't look Druish...
From the Thumbnail, to the reaction and the record breaking 61's. This whole experience made a movie I have seen countless times since it was first in theaters, even more memorable. Thanks!
"How many assholes do we got on this ship anyhow?"
Everyone: "YO!!"
"I knew it, I'm surrounded by assholes."
Fav line part in the movie😂😂💀💀
Every time something breaks down at work I bust out the "Fuck! Even in the future nothing works"
"What are those things coming out of her nose?"
(Looks through spyglass)
"SPACEBALLS???!!!"
"Oh, shit! There goes the planet!"
When are we gonna get EOM branded flamethrowers?
Hopefully soon, cause the kids will love em.
24:55 Quite the opposite actually; George Lucas not only gave Mel his blessing to make Spaceballs, he also handed the movie over to his effects company, Industrial Light and Magic (ILM), to provide the effects and postproduction… on the condition that no merchandise was sold commercially, which is why it’s funny that the merch is everywhere in the film. 🤣
I was about to comment about this as well
He made that condition because he didn’t want the Star Wars figures and any Spaceballs figures to get mixed up so Mel Brooks made it a gag.
@@mpierce313 Lol. xD
@@ryanhoule4415 and thanks to pop culture fandom, we can still get merch. xD
You can make a drinking game with how many times he says, "Shut the f**k up."
😵💫
Not one you'd survive unless you're drinking water!!
I'm not sure he can laugh. I think that's just how he does it.
What's the matter Colonel Sanders? Chicken?
This is my feel good movie, and I have seen this movie over 70 times (that's when I stopped counting). This thing is just amazing, love it.
One of the greatest movies ever Mel Brooks is a genius 💯💯💯
Your thumbnail here is PERFECTION.
This is a personal favorite. Never show it again.
I feel like this one broke the record for the most STFU’s. I’ve been waiting a hot minute for this one. Love ya, J!
It did it had 61 - J
"We ain't found shit." Has gotta be one of my favorite lines I use all the time
Every now and then I still use that part where Barf repeats 'Praying to God' xD
39:25 I love that you took so long to get pizza the hut Thank god you got it
After the movie's release, the Winnebago company got hundreds of calls enquiring about an RV like in the movie.
Blew the doors off the stfu record, holy shit. The Schwartz was with this one!
Mel Brooks never misses
Even Bison was smiling during the radar jam scene.
Fun fact:
When Dark Helmet says, “Why don’t we take a five minute break? Smoke if you got ‘em.”
Check the time stamp in the film. The next time it cuts back to the SpaceBalls scenes, it’s EXACTLY five minutes later in the run time of the movie.
Mel Brooks is a damn film genius!
Goes to show no matter how many times you watch this movie there is something buried in there undiscovered.
This was Bill Pullman's second film credit. The first being "Ruthless People" with Danny DeVito and Bette Midler. It is also a must watch.
Please watch Young Frankenstein!
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
So glad you got to this one. This one is a classic.
"Suck! Suck! Suck! Suck!"
That thumbnail!!! O M G!
I have seen this movie countless times but today, at the age of 44, I only just caught “thanks for the gas, Yogurt.”
What's the matter Colonel Sanders?.....chicken? Probably my favorite joke in the whole movie.
I can't believe it's been at least 20 years since I've seen this and I still remembered all the quotes. 😆
The guy on the afro pick, who says, "We ain't found sh*t" was Tim Russ; later known for playing Tuvok, on Star Trek: Voyager
Bill Pullman also came out in Independence Day.
"You idiots - you've captured their stunt doubles !!!!"
Favorite line ever
can't wait😆
Lucas loved the movie when he read the script and he gave Mel his full blessing, he just could not sell any Spaceballs merch...which led to Mel doing to gift shop scene with Yogurt.
Mel also wanted to dress Lonestar as Han Solo, but Lucas didn't approve, so Mel dressed him as Indiana Jones instead.
Lucas' Industrial Light and Magic did the effects for the film.
"What's the matter Sanders, Chicken??"
J's finally seen enough movies to get the references, I love it!
Pizza the Hut.🍕
Just wanted to nicely let you know that you almost killed me man. Close to the end of the movie I was eating a bowl of cereal. I started drinking the left over milk out of the bowl when you said "he's about to knock the bottom out of her". I my brain went from "Wait What!", I started to laugh and cough, and choking on my cereal milk as the same time
Awesome reaction! Absolutely love Js face when the chest burster starts singing and dancing 🤣🤣
J had 61 STFUs for this hilarious movie! 😂🎉 New record
My family and friends quote this movie the most. Classic!
"SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHit" 😂 That guy deserved to be way more famous.
The Dink that gives Barf water is Tony Cox, the elf from Bad Santa! Young Frankenstein is definitely worth watching. Classic Gene Wilder
