Here's a test of Bowling Green's "COWS", an acronym standing for the Community Outdoor Warning System. Most of the sirens are various 2001s that have black stickers or something to make it look a bit like a cow. It's probably the most bizarre thing I've seen on a siren, but at least the EM has sense of humor. Let me know in the comments on what you guys think about this.
This siren is located on Morgantown Road next to one of the fire stations. WKU also has a small, electronic siren system that I was hoping to hear from my location, but couldn't. From what I understand, the county only tests audibly once a year during the annual drill. They probably silent test more often. In fact, as I pulled up the siren did just that as FSK blared from the cabinets.
Enjoy, and as always comment, like, and subscribe for more. Thanks!

Yes. *amoozing.*

😂😂😂😂😂
While most people see a cow, I see a siren covered in leeches.
LOL. The county named the that for Community Outdoor Warning Systems. But if I painted them I would have painted a pink cow nose on the front
@@widowmaker4008well the logo is already there
Wow that’s why the siren was screaming and spinning around I wood have done that to
I love when the chopper and the rotator box are perfectly lined up
Im glad they got sirens with battery backup. Either part of the town or all of the town lost power when that tornado hit a few nights ago, but a video taken showed the sirens continued running on backup power. Hopefully they saved some lives that night.
Don't know what kinda cows are put up on a pole and alert of a tornado...
Hello fellow Iowan
Lol
Its taurunados siren.
R/whoosh
The interrupting one
I would always pass this siren everytime I would go to Kentucky. Awesome video! I like them spots too!
This is My new favorite video of yours! XD
Federal signal decided to make screaming cows
I thought that were holes from the thumbnail, Great Audio! 😂
Epic siren video!
i love these things, I remember my mom driving me to school and just seeing them near the schools, they are weird too, I also remember that sound, although I don't hear them anymore, every time we get a tornado warning, I just don't hear them
Nice video! Love the cool spots these have!
Kurt, I found some info about Hiram
@@OhioOutdoorWarningSirens what is this info
@@BourbonButcher honestly at this point I forgot
Amoozing content.
Broken solar panel put this siren in tornado siren madness about 2 weeks ago
There was a tornado on the ground in that area last night. I was visiting my Gran for a few nights. We got the critical notifications from the NWS concerning a tornado warning and heard the "cows" fire up in the distance.
Sounds like a model 5 lol. Best sounding 2001 I’ve seen yet
🐮+ Snerb = this
When do they test?
In Indiana, there is a Federal Signal 2001 that is Girl Scouts green, so...why cannot there be a Federal Signal 2001 siren that is in the colors of a dairy cow? Laughing My Butt Off! 😹😹😹😹😹
Boi
Now does the sirens go off?
Yupp...love this video. You caught this one behind BGFD station 4 on Morgantown Rd. Question...how long is the full alert on this model of siren? This type siren is my favorite over the rest alert sirens on the market. Would you knw how much these things cost??
Around 10k
Is this siren close to Warren Central (KY)?
Yes, that's just down the road.
why don't the siren say moo because it is C.O.W.S. 2001 lol
I think that the color scheme is very creative!
Do you have a video of a screamer or a hurricane?
Not yet, as the closest ones to me are pretty far.
The Only Hurricane You Mean?
This is one nifty siren.
Always a good idea to have a tornado safety plan for severe weather events.
0:09 Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Ive never seen a siren that painted like a cow
I love the cow marks lmao. Its so funny.
Great video! Interesting how the EM here did that. BTW, do you happen to know who runs the Indiana Siren Map? Just wondering because I could show them some sirens in my general area that they're missing.
Spencer Harman runs it, but I have the power to add locations on there. If you can tell me which sirens are missing, I can add them to the map.
Okay. I have some siren tour videos if you want links to those, or just the address/places (some of them don't have street view).
@@kyleb06 I'll check out those siren tour videos. But if it's not a problem for you to send me those addresses, that'd help me as well.
Can I send them here or email?

That’s the same sound that Clemson Boulevard has!
Isn’t there a place that has a system of whelens that actually do make a mooing sound? I remember somebody posted a video link in the Facebook group
Elizabeth_958 Cannon City, Oregon.
Yup
Try landing the drone on the sounding siren
Imagine raising a farm full of sirens
They need to put this paint on the St. Joseph county 2001-SRN for it to make sence
whats the difference between a 2001-DC and 2001-SRN without the lable?
There's a bit of a misnomer with the naming convention of 2001s. If it runs on a battery, it's a 2001-DC. If not, it's a 2001-AC. This includes all generations of 2001 sirens. So technically a battery operated 2001-130 is a 2001-130/DC. A 2001-DC is not an actual model but a designation that it was a -DC operated siren. What most siren enthusiasts refer to as the "2001-DC" are the first and second generation 2001-SRNs. These sirens have a smaller nose cone and a screen on the front of the siren with a black ring on the outside. The FS logo was also larger on the nose cone. The first generation also had a round-back. The third generation 2001-SRN which is the most known generation had a fat nose cone with a small logo and a screen closer to the stator. That's probably a mouthful of info but I hope this answers your question lol
@@DSRX100 but do you know where they got SRN from?
@@nstrains4001 "SRN" just means siren.
Well basil griffin park has 2001-Srn
@@DSRX100Whats the difference with the srnb?
Bizarre for sure, kinda cool actually.
Wait aren't SRNBs supposed to sound like 2001-130s?
It depends on the setup and how it's tested (batteries vs. rectifier). I've recorded high pitched -SRNs before and lower pitched -130s. Sometimes they get a higher than normal voltage from the rectifier. Cuyahoga Heights, OH, has a crazy high pitched -SRNB you can check out. Bullitt County, KY, also has some but someone took down those videos.
I wonder how these people know which siren is who.
2:06 A Drone
first time I’ve ever seen this also I never thought they had cow prints on them XD
This one was used pretty heavily here recently
Is that painting
Wow lol, at least these guys changed things up a bit
Ik you you make sure. Models! My other account is lim robo
This should be the siren for chick-fila...
reeeeeeeEeEEeeeEEEEeeEEEEeeEeEEEeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THERE'S A DEAL ON EVERY MEAL!!!! EVERYTHING IS 50% OFF!!!
@@m3m3b0y2 I love you....!
rE
For a second I thought those were a bunch of holes in the siren.
Nice!
moo
Why it painted like that
are srnb's rare? i only have seen 2
Not at all. I've seen plenty. There's at least 4 SRNBs, 2 SRNs, 2 130s and 3 Equinoxes in my old hometown. There's also a 508-128 and a Model 5.
I drove by this amoozing siren and it looks Hilarious!
This is so Amoozing
The windup sounds like Elmo
the siren go moo now and the cow go commit 2001 srnb
Theres a modulator 5020 at knicely center of wku in bowling green as well
No its a 6024 bruh
@@konstantinmikhailferrer4115 no its not.
Check first
Well, this Snerby (SRNB) is not the same as the other ones to say the least.
I suspect the color pattern is because they're a fan of the movie Twister.
I'm a 2001 cow MOOOOOOOW
I thought it had a bunch of holes carved into it, I almost screeched, lmfao.
Why is the name COWS
The siren became a cow
Amoozing
Cannon Beach, Oregon tests their system with the actual sound of a mooing cow. Look up ‘Cannon Beach cow’
that siren sounds very...
mooie
😂
I didnt know a cow could be a tornado siren?
0:09 MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Now I'm looking up screaming cows.
That’s a loud cow
Edit: listen to that cows moo
Theres one in Indiana thats Girl Scout Green, and even has their emblem on it!
I did made a video all about the locations in bowling green. It looks like they have a 6024.
I mean a 5020
Cannon Beach should paint their Whelens like this! 😂
How to milk a siren’s udders
This one is peaceful
Cow siren will go like.. moOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO0OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOow....
Well, that's not something you see every day.
C.O.W.S? More like E.O.W.S! Ba-dum-TSS!
I’m in Bowling Green right now
So that’s why it looks like a cow cuz of the acronym
This video is "amoozing"! One of my personal favorite sirens, XD!
Hey it’s my type of a siren ,
That's utterly ridiculous
COW MOOO
Here we see a majical cow2001 announcing how it is
This is cringe what is this why did I do this
The cow jumped over the moon and on to a pole.
The siren could be like mmmmmmmmmooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO XDDDDDD 😂
Why is it decorated of a cow
It's from a pun. This siren system is officially called the "County Outdoor Warning Sirens." or "C.O.W.S" If your siren system is called "COWS", it only makes sense to paint it like a cow.
That siren has mad cow disease.
I need this siren
Tones?
*MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO*
siren: moooooooooooooooooooooooooo
It should be programmed to sound mooooooo!!!!!! 😂
It can’t it doesn’t use speakers
Sirens And Railroads of Oklahoma I couldn’t tell if it did or not 🙂
And that it’s an omnidirectional Mechanical siren so it does not have speakers sorry about that
Siren startup should be like *”MMMMOOOOOOOOOOO”*
Like a thunderbolt?
Interesting
This siren is supposed to go MOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Moooo cool
Is she electromechanical?
Yes
It would be funny if this thing actually was underpowered and moo’ed like a cow
They paint the siren
Hello cow
Rooooooooorrrrm
It Sounds like screaming of Cow
