Defrost elements can be super tricky to fault find. They cause earth leakage faults. Obviously once the thermo switches the fault clears. Nice service mate, totally go plexy for that backboard she'd look sick!
KOH! Never heard of anyone using that to clean a refrigerator. That's dangerous stuff! It's also the electrolyte used in alkaline batteries (incl. NiCd/NiMH)
