Attention has to be paid to the kind of media we have here and compare it with other countries to see what the difference is. The big media corporations want you to think that media doesn't cause violence but every factor involving violence has to be examined to understand why things are different here.

Some criminals attack homes, and if they’re armed and dangerous there’s not much time to defend oneself or to wait on the police to arrive. If we shoot at the criminals that attack, there could be a dangerous shootout with bullets flying everywhere, and more dead victims. Jon Stewart in his show "The Problem with Jon Stewart", recently spoke with a conservative legislator and he said that more guns would stop the violence. Jon then asked that given the fact there are more guns on your streets than people, how much more is going to be the tipping point? Look at the shooting in Ovaldi or something it was named? The elementary school in Texas some two year ago. Police was there, dozen of them. But noone dared to enter because the weapon the guy had, was overpowering most of theirs, having body armor doesn't even help against those.
They literally said absolutely nothing of worth. He said there was an officer wounded, and she then proceeded to ask, " Was the suspect dead before the police got there?" Wow, just wow.

1) it's an on going investigation .
2) next of kin of the wounded and deceased have not been notified
3) Law enforcement and the media are not going to risk getting sued for releasing the names of those involved before next of kin are notified

I certainly don’t agree with what I see as major flaws in your gun laws, but you folks don’t want to hear that and truthfully, speaking just for myself, I get tired of repeating what I believe is the obvious. So sadly, when mass shootings are an everyday event and I see nothing ever done to stem the flow of those events, events that uniquely American, all we looking in can do, is offer heartfelt condolences towards those we know are in unimaginable pain because of tragic and senseless loss.

Problem is that "words of comfort" only actually make it worse because, however unintended, they bolster the notion that nothing can be done about this insanity. The overwhelming majority of Americans want our 400 million guns confiscated and destroyed. But because we don't have an actual democracy, this can't happen. I have 4 daughters whom I send out every morning into our senseless gun death lottery. Do we really imagine that, even if they are not blown apart by semi-automatic military rounds, they are not damaged by the trauma of having to run this gauntlet just by going to school in the morning? Whilst I appreciate the compassion behind such well-wishing condolences, this is an entirely preventable tragedy.

Even walking to a corner store can be scary with mentally ill or hardened criminals just watching/targeting, or harassing. They’ve become more aggressive/emboldened to threaten/attack due to many cities sift on crime policies/lenient punishments/low or no bail

I’m Nigerian and still don’t understand what’s going on in the US,we are suppose to look up to you guys and almost everyday they is a mass shooting,what’s is really going on ???
Pray for us man. We have had a good run but I fear we are showing signs of terminal decline as a society. The bottom is falling out, every one of my neighbors here in the US can see it. We talk about it often and many of us are taking steps to safeguard our lives, our families, and our property. I really think what is happening is people are becoming more deranged than ever before, and that insanity interacting with the Second Amendment is turning deadly.
Our government makes us work extreme amounts just to barely survive, with no healthcare, no childcare...prices on rent and food keep increasing and our bosses treat us like trash. So people are overly stressed with no hope in sight. Stress and guns do not mix well.

@@kathyr.8135 I'm Dutch and an agnost/atheist. No gun violence here in general (except maybe a stray bullet when two criminal organizations are in some war). Legislation works better than Jesus. Then again, taking guns OFF the street with numbers the US has is going to be a very long thing, if that happens. But at least stop people claiming that military grade weaponery must go, keep your revolver or whatever handgun.

When I saw a picture of the shooter it’s not your twisted in the head type of guy. He looks like a businessman who went to university and did a lot for him self to get successful but SOMETHING HAPPENED to cause him to snap to make him act out like this. That’s the problem with America. That’s why I could care less about America and I want it to go down in flames. The rich and greedy destroyed this country. Guns didn’t.
