    I love Fallout 3 and am extremely impressed by the game on Series X.
    Years ago, for whatever reason, I decided to drop every item in my inventory in my house. Not just each item. But even duplicates. Individually. Sometimes hundreds of an item being dropped. There's just a pile of garbage. This DESTROYED the game on 360. I wouldn't doubt it dropped to the single digits... But I had another bright idea. Shoot a missile at the pile. Brilliant, right? For several seconds the game would freeze as the system struggled to calculate everything... It is an awesome sight to behold.
    I saved right before doing this and still have that save. Loading it up on Series X showed no (visible) dropped frames from just generally walking around the pile. Even the missile shot just drops some frames. Not the seconds long pause I would get on 360. This upgrade is bonkers.

      Jason Ronald and his team are obviously passionate about it. People do notice these efforts, it's not something being taken for granted, so it will make them money in the long run if they continue to show that they care about the medium. Really happy this is a thing, let's hope it rubs off on Sony and Nintendo. Would love to see them treat their previous game library the same.

      @@fancyform For Nintendo at least they have the excuse that the Switch is incapable of being backwards compatible at all. However, they still have such a lack of care for their legacy, locking old games behind a painfully bad subscription service, half-assed collections, or $60 HD editions. Meanwhile, the PlayStation 4 at the very least was home to a ton of remasters and rereleases, which can still be played on PS5. But any game series unfortunate enough to not get a remastered collection, like Metal Gear Solid, Killzone, or God of War has games stranded on older platforms.

They just couldn't get most of them working to an acceptable level, and not even all of the games that are supported run properly from start to finish. Say whatever you want about the extent of the back compat catalog on the Xbox One, but at least all titles that are on there do work properly. Games like Halo MCC, Ori Will of the Wisps and Sea of Thieves can be moved. Some have gotten patched recently to be Gen 9 native like Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice so can't be moved anymore. GOTTA GO FPS BOOST
    I was revisiting the Gears games on SX and damn, the increase in frame rate is great. I even checked out Judgement and it made me interested in replaying the campaign again because of the boost!

      @@Shaved_Ape Correct. Gears Judgment (not to be confused with the excellent Judgment by RGG Studios) is a pile of trash. Crappy portable game pretending to be a console game. The only good thing about it is the weirdly placed "here's a normally built Gears mini-campaign that showed what Baird was doing during this one part of Gears 3" that should have just been Gears 3 DLC.

    • @ThePhantomnaut
      @ThePhantomnaut Před 2 lety +6

      @@gustavohuehue7460 Yes. No resolution increase but boosted. Gears 2 and Ultimate got boosted too at least on SX. lol at some of these replies. After playing some of the Judgement campaign, it has cool ideas including its Declassify challenges that sort of fits People Can Fly's design philosophy but was weakened by time and budget (EDIT: Guess I was wrong on budget from what I checked, but I can see a lack of focus on PCF's part). It's ultimately "more Gears" for those who want more Gears. Not a bad game but fine as a curious spinoff.
