Know where you are coming from, Lizzie. I’ve always thought…well…knew that I am plain, have known it all my life. Plus, I am a Turner’s Syndrome female so never developed like, or had the shape of, a typical female. I’m very short, topped out at 4’9” when all I ever wanted to be in life was tall and willowy. I have the stocky, broad bodied build of the typical TS girl, hated being short, middle school and the start of high school were sheer hell. All of this before I even found out my diagnosis at the age of 17. I had already left school, but I did get my GED. Finally, it was something my mom said that flipped a switch in me, a simple statement she made about my self-consciousness about my lack of height and those awful, ugly, painful platform shoes I tortured myself with everyday. She pointed out that no matter how high I bought them, no matter how many I bought, in reality, they were never going to make me 1 inch taller than I was meant to be in this life. From that moment, just decided to fully embrace who I am and what I have because that’s all I’ve got. I started to think better about myself and be kinder to myself. After all, the soul is in this package for this particular ride. I stopped worrying and obsessing about what I would never look like and just stopped punishing myself for being who I am. I started questioning life when I got in my 30's, I honestly think most people do. I started wondering what I could have done, what I should have done, and what I could have done better. Achievement is always different for each of us. I look at all the things you've done Lizzie and it amazes me that you are only in your 30's. Maybe your just being too hard on yourself, I personally think you have achieved a lot, especially when you consider how many people you have helped. As for beauty Lizzie, I'd rather know someone who had an attractive personality and depth of character, than someone who was too perfect looking and shallow as a bird bath. looks fade, your personality stays with you.

God created each and everyone of us. A lot of people perceive me as ugly. I never had many friends, I was never invited to parties, had few dates from when I was a teenager and into my forties. I gave up hoping I would meet someone who would love me for my heart instead of my physical appearance. Humans are judgmental. Many are downright cruel. I recently learned that God created me, therefore I’m beautiful in His eyes. I no longer compare myself to others. All that matters is what God thinks of me, and I know He will always accept me no matter what. God created me, therefore I’m beautiful.
