Darren Jones is one of the best politicians this country has produced recently, and he's a top Labour MP. I agree a possible future leader and PM.
A good antidote to fuhrage who reckons he’ll be PM in 5 years.
A great skill here was not so much making the Tory ridiculous, but making it clear the Tory was making himself look ridiculous!
Until if he was leader would he change anything or be able to change anything. The country has been a joke for 30 years
Totally agree!
Top man is Darren Jones
I really like Darren Jones, he's intelligent and has a sense of humour. He would make a great PM>
give it 5-15 years and he proly will be - so many br9ght labour mp's atm - rayner for her background , yvette and angela for their fieriness, darren and rachel for their economics and bnrutal humor - class acts - now name 6 tory mp's with any qualities nvm leadership qualities
From my hometown of Bristol. Get in there Darren❤
Clowns to the left of him, jokers to the right, poor Darren Jones, stuck in the middle of that shower.
Agreed Andy Burnham and he are the 2 shining lights and maybe Andy's time has come and gone. Also have a soft spot for Angela but get she is a bit devisive
Shifty socialist...tax bombshell on the way...plus vast numbers on the boats...and into 5* hotels.
He dealt with the stupidity of the Tory’s answers in a quiet and respectful way. Good on him, very switched on..!
makes a change huh
Darren Jones is (technically was) my MP and came to my door this week. I talked his ear off for 10 minutes straight and when I gave him a chance to move on to the next house, his insisted that he had time to talk about my issues. Good bloke!
Are they changing bristol boundaries?
I met him briefly in bristol, felt like a genuine and intelligent bloke.
He is an awful MP. He has taken tens of thousands of pounds in donations from various big business including Arup who are involved in privatising the NHS.
@@suburbanyobbo9412Evidence for your claims?
@@suburbanyobbo9412 any News articles about this? I’ve looked but couldn’t find any. I found the declaration of interest, but nothing about privatisation.
@@suburbanyobbo9412 He received funds provided by the central Labour Party that were apportioned to have been donated, randomly, by Arup.
The thing about Darren is is that he a seventh dan master in the art of sarcasm, he's drier than the Atacama. That's why he comes across as Human, he speaks the one language all Brits are fluent in.
'Drier than the Atacama', that's a quality simile if ever I heard one. Lol.

He would be a great PM.
Darren Jones is a very honourable politician, clever and appealing, I hope that he has a great future in the Labour movement, good luck to him
I’ve been impressed by Darren Jones since I saw him dismantling people in select committees.
I watch them when I'm feeling down because his cutting wit and put downs cheer me up no end. My favourite is the water companies.
Sadly Select Committees don't amount to much in the end. No one reacts to anything found.
@@allanspraggon7207 oh 100% but it's nice to watch them squirm and offer their pointless apologies. I'd rather the white collar crime was addressed but mild exposure will have to do for now.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Darren Jones should and will be a future PM, hopefully replacing Starmer sooner rather than later.
It’s behind the scenes that the real work is done , something I don’t think you’re able to understand.
Agree
There are plenty more where he comes from! Finally the fools are starting to leave. Maybe we can at last live and grow and lead human lives.
I’ve said this before , please don’t underestimate starmer he is a facilitator , builds a team uses there strengths but above all has faith in there abilities and gets results , i personally think if he’s given the chance will be a transformative prime minister for the uk . As for Darren I think he may be a future leader but he will have to do the hard yards first.
I am tired of snippy comments attacking Starmer from elements on the left who are completely unable to enjoy success. It's almost like they don't want power and are happiest moaning about how unfair everything is.
I watched Darren Jones, when he was questioning the Post Office management, he destroyed them all.
He simultaneously takes the mickey out of his opponents while destroying their arguments. This man has a bright future in the Labour party
Darren Jones deserves to go far. He has wit, charm and honesty, three things you can't usually say about many politicians. Good luck to him.
I've been saying this for weeks. Darren Jones is fantastic at all these interviews, and would make a brilliant future Labour leader. The way he plays the camera here is mint!
Me too! Not only that, it would be nice to be led by a normal person rather than a slogan robot.
Spot on with his 'Don't look at us, Look at Scary Labour'
Exactly. Just Tory project fear.
Darren Jones - versatile, capable and honest. Certainly a rising star for better politics, after years of lies, theft and chaos..
You clearly know nothing about him then. Just look at how much money he is receiving from Arup.
Darren is simply being honest! Breath that in for a minute....
I love listening to Darren Jones. Without doubt the best Labour MP
He is taking tens of thousands of pounds from big business including Arup who are involved in privatising the NHS.
Jones has done nothing of benefit to his constituents, he continually lies to them, including lying to a local group of remainers to get their support during the 2019 election, who subsequently campaigned with him.
Yet he is continually promoted in online media, notably by PoliticsJoe, who are owned by a venture capital fund.
Darren Jones , bossed it , highlighted the nonsense of these fools , articulate funny and very smart ! As he has been in select committee meetings . ⭐️
Give farmers security from the party that has totally shafted British farmers with Brexit the hypocrisy runs deep in this one
Literally said this in my head as it was playing on the video. The CONservatives just con the people that's all they do.
It was about 50% of farmers that voted to Leave, and 5% that didn’t care enough to vote. Sorry bud, but it was them that bought in, got hooked line and sinker and wilfully threw the rest of the British public through the drain. To be honest, I think only the 45-48% of farmers that voted remain should be helped. The rest of them that are now complaining and feeling buyers remorse? I couldn’t give a damn; they did it to themselves.
He certainly was superb especially as he was taking on 3 other panellists
One day darren jones will be party leader
What made me laugh yesterday was the: "He's very good. On message." It made me want to know more about Darren Jones.
Darren Jones is my favourite MP and a breath of fresh air. He sounds posh but he's from Lawrence Weston in Bristol - if you know you know L Dubs. He'd make a great PM one day. Smart, compassionate and as we see here, has a great sense of humour.
3 things:
1. Something like 4% of people in the country will pay inheritance tax.
2. The government do not fuck with council tax, that's a local authority thing.
3. The £2,000 odd thing is not even a real figure, it's the Tories guessing, and the funny thing is that it wouldn't affect the majority of people anyway.
Not only that the single biggest tax impact in the last generation is the Tory decision to freeze thresholds
The number of people that whine about inheritance tax when it doesn't apply to them is ridiculous
I agree with the principle of what you are saying, but the central government does provide a significant amount of local authority funding so there is an impact on the council tax. Since a good number of local authorities are red, it makes sense for the Tories to maximise the council tax and then blame the local authority (keeping quiet in the blue areas)
Darren continuously grows in stature, appeal and potential. Sharp as a tac, thinks on his feet, imaginative responses to questions. Cometh the hour, cometh the man. This is the man we have been waiting for! Have been impressed by him for quite some time and he continues to deliver.
The Tories are a joke
Ideally with the word "sick" inserted. The worst and most inept government in my lifetime.
Correction. The Tories think the UK government is a joke, and are getting away with constantly scamming the people.
Darren Jones, makes you proud to see a politician that believes.
well done put tory mel to shame 14 years of corrupption
Darren Jones has so much potential.Future Labour Leader.
Potential to keep taking tens of thousands of pounds from big business.
Yes, he's outstanding. I have been watching him for a while now and he's on the ball. He'd make an excellent leader.
He has taken tens of thousands of pounds from big business including Arup who are involved in privatising the NHS.
Darren Jones ..... this is how Labour should look ! Not dianne abbott image. Darren is a future PM.
They don't have an Abbott image ye prick.
Abbott is a good MP. Maybe not the best for cabinet post but, there's a reason she has a massive majority in her area. Wise up
Labour would not, in fact, be my first choice of party but they will get my vote because this guy is my local MP and candidate.
Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of Starmer but will happily vote for Jones again anyway. He's a great constituency MP
You lucky bugger. Which constituency?
He's just as good in his parliamentary committee work. Very well informed, and a calm and reasoned debater.
I'm sure he is destined for high office. He will show up most of the house.
We need more MP’s like Darren it would make Politics nicer and more engaging rather than the abrasive Tory come out fighting no matter what the new lie is attitude.

I've been following Darren Jones for a couple of years now, and his performances in Select Committees and in this interview here are fantastic. Early days but I do believe he could be a future Leader.
Conservatives talk alot but never explain anything
They just dodge the questions and keep answering a question with a question, Darren Jones should stand for being labour leader/pm
Tories will dodge the question and then point fingers and spout fantasies and lies.
Yeah because all Labour politicians answer all the questions.
I first encountered Darren Jones when I saw videos of him chairing select committees. His clarity and ability to cut through waffle and diversions made him shine. It is great to see him in a more public arena, with the aura of an approachable human being rather than a party-bot, continuing to hit the target.

In person, Darren is gormless.
What a breath of fresh air. Someone who doesn't take himself too seriously.
I love how the Tories have the gall to continually (more than) insinuate that it is in fact _Labour_ who have buggered this country up over the last 14 years by having the nerve to _oppose_ their mad cap ideas. Ash Sarkar's face near the end was a picture!
He’s extremely intelligent and articulate and able to adapt, someone I’d love to see in a debate with the likes of Farage because I think he could pull him apart.
He isn’t intelligent. I’ve spoke to him and he is quite slow and gormless when he isn’t prepared. He shies away from his constituents, and avoids hustings meetings, I can only assume he does this because he is doesn’t like being challenged.
@@suburbanyobbo9412 must be watching a different interview. 😂😂

His constituents rarely see him, he has ducked out of hustings events in previous elections and the current election including ducking out of a hustings event on the 15th last week.
He has taken tens of thousands in donations from big business in recent months, to the tune of over £80,000. This includes over £30,000 in donations from Arup, a business involved in PPP contracts, including PPP contracts for the NHS.

Truth be told, it's easy to debate with anybody when you know you are telling the truth and fully understand and have confidence in it. Whereas if you are 'manufacturing' something, then there is no foundation, just 'messaging'. Then people see the lack of substance and mentally turn off.
