I could vividly see the scene in my mind, and the protagonist's feelings of love, loss, and the haunting beauty of holding onto something so dear really resonated with me. It was as if I could feel their heartache and hope with every word I wrote.

Listening to this song while on my break today might've been a mistake. If I cried in front of any of my coworkers, they'd bust my stones over it for weeks.
Anyway, I know it's not what the song is about, but it reminded me of my cat who just passed away a few months ago. 18 years ago, we found her in a friend's garden. She was so little, we had to feed her from a bottle for a while. Almost immediately, Molly and I bonded. She always had to be by my side. She'd follow me everywhere, sit on my lap if I was watching tv or playing video games, sleep next to (or on) my legs every night... she was my best friend in the world for 18 years. I still have her favorite blanket. I still sleep under it every night. Just like this song's titular sweater, the blanket is all I have left of her, and I'll never let it go.
