1984 news series from WOR-TV on New York City radio personalities. This clip highlights Howard Stern, who was at WNBC-AM at the time. It also features Don Imus and commentary from Wolfman Jack.
Well, at first, Howard actually liked Imus, he was the #1 guy at NBC, & a proven DJ, but when Stern started gaining momentum, & became more outrageous, the relationship was destroyed forever. Stern was out about 9 months after this aired, Imus stayed til NBC became WFAN, & the rest is history....
Ironically, in the late 80's...NBC had to get out of the radio business. From there, this Class-A clear-channel giant (now owned by CBS Radio) is 66 the Fan.
Howard and Imus deserve Oscars for acting like they don't really detest each other.

Great to see radio superstars John A Gambling and William B Williams here... Lloyd Lyndsey Young would have been great on the radio himself...
That's while Lloyd had that assignment. He is a radio wannabe
