The Godot document isn't lacking, everything in there is top notch, it even has a better introduction to vectors and transform matrices than any math class has ever given me. It's just got big holes in it, a few things stuff that just don't have explanations at all.
id tech 3 was my introduction to virtual machines and Huffman coding. Great open source community surrounding it as well. A truly inspiring piece of software.
Idtech 3 is by far the most impressive engine of all time in my opinion, the way light is handled alone just blows one away considering when it was developed
I spent an entire month tweaking my pathing AI (6 reviews, mixed) 🐣 I spent an entire month coordinating with my series' commissioned artists so that I can release eight reskins next year (all will be rated overwhelmingly positive) 🐔
The idTech one completely caught me off-guard and I started giggling like a maniac. I've worked with idTech 3 and idTech 4 and I must say, this is pretty accurate. (I just wish the tooling was a tad better)
Would love to learn Id Tech, but I hardly find tutorials about it... And it seems only Id Tech 4 is able to be used, the most recent ones aren't, which is sad...
