1950's Milk Vat Meltdown - Awesome Farm Find - Bulk Copper - ASMR Metal Melting - Trash To Treasure
Hello again all you beautiful People . I hope you've had an amazing week and are easing into an even better weekend. A hell of a lot going on today. This breakdown was brutal as you will see. Took me quite a few days and still didn't get it finished, but you'll see what I mean in the video Another awesome donation from my farming friend and a huge amount to add to the stack. So sit back relax enjoy the video but most important be happy and have a great day 😁.
Oh and while ive got your attention be sure to share the video with someone if you think they'll enjoy it as that will certainly help the channel crack the 1.5 million sub mark😆.
Oh and if you're still here and you are watching from a laptop or PC, why not chuck on one of my longer playlists and simply walk away as that will increase watch time and also help the channel hugely but if not that's cool , thanks for watching and your continued support👊🏻
بسیار عالی ، یک جمعه دیگر و یک ذوب عالی 👍🏼
@@urazatesoglu Im not sure the scrap prices but BigStack does his prices off of current copper values not current copper Scrap values as after its melted into an ingot its definitely no longer scrap copper. I think his value was right on the money as he must have done the copper value yesterday or the day before as the value in this video was 2992TRY but right now its now worth 3000TRY😊😊
Keep it!
keep it. it could be a good mount for somethiing
I am SOOO HAPPY you added that 5 Monkey Minutes at the end because you didn't show them EVEN ONCE in the video before that..... I was REALLY WORRIED!!! Worried that either something happened and you didn't want us to see them or that you're losing your mind and TOTALLY forgot that you had that awesome lil monkeys in your life!!! lol But I'm SO GLAD you showed them to us like every week!!!
You know Duane...I been watching for years and I have to say...Sometimes I like the tear-down more than the melt...I hope that's not forbidden LOL 👍🙏
It's Dion, not Duane.
Same
Its definitely Darth, you goobs.
@@ElmerJFudd-oi9kj Don't care.
I was just thinking this whilst watching another video.
KEEP IT! I want to see the refurb and repurpose. That's what your channel is all about!
Nah, he destroys stuff. Hand Tool Rescue is the guy who could use that base to refurb. (They'd be a great fun style rivalry on how to deal with old equipment.)
Keep it!
bravo❤
Keep it, it you think it's worth your time. Congrats on the HUGE copper score! All in, that had to one of the biggest yet. Also... Thanks for posting the winter temps. It gives those of us in Texas something to remember fondly while we melt. LOL
Love the Star Trek Voyager opening theme!
Never cared for the show itself, but the opening music was fantastic
Keep the scrap...looks useful 😎👍
Actually, you are probably the 20 or 30th person to say that but it was the opening music from Scarface film. I can honestly say I have never seen one Star Trek film or TV show and I avoid Star Wars like the plague after they introduced Jar Jar Binks🤬! Who the hell gave Jaja Binks a green light on such a massive franchise I cannot believe it and it has scarred me for life
@@bigstackD Huh, I've never watched Scarface, but it wouldn't surprise me that Paramount reused the music for an opening. I mean, the opening to Star Trek TNG was just the same score used in the first movie. Learn something new all the time
@MrGoesBoom actually it was two different scores of music put together for TNG. The Star Trek TMP theme was a little different.
Keep that big piece for sure, good side project, as well as adding more character to the melt yard.
LOVE the 5th element blocks.
Thank you for being the One Channel that instantly lowers My blood pressure and Calms me down.
Best part of late Thursday early Friday is when I look up at the time and realize a BIgStack is about to drop!
0230 was this time's realization, only a half hour of anticipation!
Such an interesting melt tonight! What a cool motor to tear down. An original single phase motor with those nasty capacitors 😮😮 full of chemicals! So much copper! Loved it 🎉🎉😊😊 awesome start to the weekend 🎉cheers
Pouring Copper never gets old :) Really is something that gets me
If you have a use in mind for the cast iron plinth, then keep it. It won't be affected by hot or molten metal, for one thing, and if you clean it up and put some protective, heat-proof coating on it, it'll look ok. Once you've finished with it, (or find it's not quite as suitable for the task as you thought), it'll come in handy to put flower pots on, if nothing else! 😁
I suspect there's going to be a _lot_ of slag from doing that aluminium, what with all the dust and dirt between the fins. I imagine, once you reduce it all down, there won't be quite as many ingots from it as you think. The copper melts always look great, of course!
Thank you for the puppies at the end, I was almost thinking we were not going to see the boys this week. I really enjoy seeing them 🥰👍👍🍻
Gawd look at all those particulates. I'm glad you wear breathing protection... my lungs are aching just from the sight of all that.
One of the best ways to start the friday 🥰 Thanks again BigD! Now to grab a coffee and enjoy the video ☺️
Man, I would love to see these machines as they were coming off the assembly line. Fresh paint, bright copper. Bet they were beautiful.
DAMN!!! BigstackD you have a lot of awsome friends! They are probably happy to have you as a friend as well. They get to get rid of their "junk" and you get plenty of great stuff to melt, and we get to watch you do it!😆😆😆
Yes I have a couple of friends live relatively locally on farms so I will probably be getting bits and pieces like that for sometime to come. I do have another mate who is a guy that does deceased estate but he’s in it for the money so he will sell stuff to me at scrapyard prices, which I understand and accept, but only if it’s interesting for the viewers to see👊🏻😁.
Keep it. If it doesn't work out, you can scrap it later.
Great video. I love to see a good copper melt.
That's a good friend,
You weren't kidding about it being a job to tear that down. Those copper tubes through the aluminum really tired me out watching you painstakingly get the copper separated from the aluminum!
It's 60f ( 15.5C ) this morning in S/E Michigan. USA, a little cool for summer but not by much. We have already hit the 90s ( 32C ) for a high a few days.
Take care and have a great weekend, everyone!
I wish I had friends like that. I wish I had space to take stuff like that. I will.
There's no better friend to have than a farmer. Need something fixed? They either know how to do it themselves or know someone who does.
La prima targhetta fenomenale!
It's good to know that BigStacked is a Trekkie! Love the "Voyager" theme!
I'm in the comments today specifically for this. Star Trek has such beautiful music in the shows the movies everything.
Deep space nine is one of my favorites for a show in the theme song, Though Voyager is a close second in both areas.
The music he chooses to play for the drives in his truck never fail to make me smile.
(Also on the subject of music every time the dogs are referred to as monkeys I hear the theme song to the old monkeys TV show in my head.)
Getting a job in the metal shop at the factory I work at and you helped inspire me to get there. Thank you!
Dang thats alot of copper, and alot of work! Thanks for the video Bigstackd
You should keep it I’ve never seen one like it
Hard work. GOOD pay off. You have a great farmer friend. I say keep the piece. Very useful looking
Yes please keep that cast iron base for future smaller melts. Maybe sandblast and black stovepolish? Thank you for your films good Sir! I quite enjoy them 😀 Very best wishes on you from Sweden.
Loved that bundle of copper that just sat there hanging on the edges till it melted into the furnace.
Voyager! I actually hummed that to my elder son when he was a baby and hum it now to his little brother. ❤️
It's 7am and I'm having my morning coffee enjoying this excellent vid, keep up your great work!👍Montreal Quebec Canada 🇨🇦
Keep it and restore this rare piece....hello from Greece
I wonder how much aluminum, tin and extra copper it would take to turn 1 Kg of brass into nortic gold (obviously no longer 1 Kg).
You made me curious so I did the math.
To get to Nordic gold, which is 89% copper, 5% aluminum, 5% zinc, and 1% tin, from 2.2 pounds (1 kg) of common brass which is 61.5% copper, 35.5% zinc, and 3% lead, you can add 12.5 pounds of copper (that’s over 5x as much as the brass), 0.79 pounds of aluminum, and 0.16 pounds of tin, and you end up with 15.6 pounds of 88.5% copper, 5% zinc, 5% aluminum, 1% tin, and about 0.4% lead.
It’s pretty hard to lower the amount of lead but I don’t know how it’ll affect the final alloy. If you try to add more to lower it’s overall percentage, the zinc will drop too much and you’ll have to add more of that, too
@@joshp6061 I didn't realize that brass could have lead in it. Well that's unfortunate.
@@pizza15x not that it can, it just typically does. You could add like twice or thrice as much of everything to lower the lead much more but then you’d have to add some pure zinc too. Can I do the math on that too? What’s an acceptable % of lead, 0.1%? 0.05%?
@@joshp6061 Sure. I would say 0.05%.
@@pizza15x Ok you gotta add a whole lot of copper for that
2.2 lbs brass (1 kg) + 110 lbs copper + 6.3 lbs aluminum + 1.25 lbs tin + 5.5 lbs zinc = 88.9% copper, 5.0% zinc, 0.05% lead, 5.0% aluminum, & 1.0% tin
Though you'd only have to add 55 pounds of copper to get the lead down to 0.1%
Fun dismantling job. It is always interesting to me how other engineers (or not) make choices when they design all kinds of machinery. The choices were different 70 years ago. I am sure Mr. Lawson's (WD-40) heirs love you.
Holey Smokes this was an awesome ASMR one 😍
well this 1 made me feel quite lazy, me laying here watching all that work, but i do love the copper. Thank you for all your hard work 👍
Nothing better than chilling in bed whilst watching bigstack
Keep the Mount , it will be a great work platform for a forge and work table . Outstanding video .
Nothing better than waking up, going to the toilet for my morning poo, and watching some quality melt. Helps me get motivated to start the day.
I'm with you mate!!!!!
Too much information 😂
@@adypeace6180 not enough information. I could have added much more detail.
You casting somethings too 😂😂😂

Really nice job on this video. Thanks for sharing with us.

Absolutely keep it. It is a nice, heavy-duty and stable platform to work from.
Great video!
Definitely keep it! Your determination to see the job through (particularly with all those little copper pipes in the fins!) is incredible. Thank you for the great quality videos!
Trailer backing action cam!! Love it love it
I have been watching for years and so glad to see the other forge.
Nice job of backing the trailer . It speaks to years of practice!😎
Keep it. Could be a fun project. Thanks for the videos!!!

Excellent video very enjoyable and interesting. Keep it. Thank you for sharing this with us six stars brother
That was a good find mate! Lots of stuff to melt! The older stuff always seems to have a heap of copper! The Bigsnack looked bloody delicious too! I love a nice stew!
As for the iron stand, I reckon keep it!
Have a good one buddy.
🍺
Yes will do mate I will definitely keep it as the overwhelming response is to keep it and re-purpose it so I’ll have to give it a good cleanup rust proof and get it all Mickey Mouse. I think I’ll keep it neutral colours this time if I asked the group pink always wins so it’ll probably just be a nice flat black or grey so it fits in nicely but that’ll probably be a few weeks away as a bit of work to do inside the house and the other property. Thanks again buddy, I’ll talk with you soon mate, I reckon I’m gonna spend the entire Sunday just cleaning the melting area and trying to tidy one end of the shed and you know how long that take !
I might have to put a lock on the beer fridge and milk the key otherwise I’ll definitely get sidetracked this afternoon 🤦🏻♂️
An absolute jackpot!
Keep it.
Also, excellent choice for the movie. The Muppet Movie is such a classic.
Keep it! I think it would be a great reminder/addition to the melt area. But you do know you also have thought "Gigantic mold". Bullion napping on Ingot gave me a huge chuckle. Wishing the entire household the best!
Здравствуйте 👋! Всегда приятно смотреть Ваши ролики, ничего лишнего, всё под рукой 👌, каждый раз смотрю и отдыхаю 👍, здоровья Вам и удачи! 🤩
Its like My childhood dream just melt and melt great thanks to you my friend lots of love from 🇮🇳❤
Mesmerising to watch love it 👏🏻👏🏻
Watching a motor strip down is absolutely fascinating. I love seeing what they look like inside, it gives me a sense of how the machine works.
Absolutely keep it! That will clean up beautifully and I'm totally fine with volunteering you to do the work of that cleanup!
I never comment on vids, but here to say "Keep it"! Keep up the great content, never thought I'd be watching this much smelting on here, but I've been watching the stack grow for some time now, and enjoying every bit of it!
KEEP IT !!! 🎉
Awesome as always !!!
there's nothing that humans can't do. amazing

That was so much work. The teardown was amazing.
KEEP IT!!! Greetings from Rosario, Argentina 🇦🇷
Weekend starts with another great vid.
That was a fantastic breakdown! Very enjoyable
Those copper bars look absolutely stunning 😍
I say "KEEP IT!".... Thanks nice Video again!
every time I watch, I like the disassembly or find out what I would do with what's left lol
Keep it.
Of all the metal you melt, I find the copper’s viscosity the most pleasant to watch. The way it dances and pours is very calming.
My husband & I watch you every week. We love your videos. Me especially just love your little dogs. They are so cute. They just make my day ❤
Love the melt big fella and love those 5 element stones at the end I really need to watch that again soon
Thank you.
Love This BigstackCasting Every Sunday When I wake Up First Coffee Than The Epesode !!! Thanks A Lot
Copper pipes too thin to make music! Hilarious. I do love the music!
The Muppets rock! The Muppet Movie rocks! Any Muppet fan is a friend of mine 😊
Keep the base. Get some good well aged Jarra wood, plane it down, and make a top to put on it, so you have a nice workbench top piece for there, or a foot rest.
Keep it!! God I love the teardowns of big motors like that.
keep it. I love the look of the base.
Chain saw massacre of the Milk Vat Motor! :D Loved it! Thanks.
Keep It! Not only could it still be useful, but it's also old. I know it's not that valuable, but it's still an antique and a part of history. I don't really like seeing old things get destroyed without reason.
I love that you are listening to the Voyager Soundtrack! I have that on my playlist as well!
I love your videos I watch them every Friday and they are the finale to my work week and keep the piece.
You absolutely crush it every Friday without fail, no excuses no bs your here with amazing content without fail, thank you Bigstackd!
Keep it. You always find neat ways to repurpose things.
Best taste in movies ever❤
Awesome video! All that beautiful copper and a nice chunky bar of brass join the stack.
I'd keep it.
Keep it!
Attach an extension to one of your rain spouts to keep it filled as the ultimate cooling container.
Oh definitely ‘keep it’ cheers 🍻
Every friday, the new video showing you melting some metal is my start into the weekend.
Greetings from germany.
