    I've never used coating on my white tesla seats and they are still pristine after 5 years.

    I had applied it almost a year back, as soon as I bought my Model 3 and the seats still look brand new. I applied the coating and let it 'cure' for atleast 24 hr, as it absorbs most of the coating in the leather, after that I lightly wiped off the seats with a clean cloth... and done.

    Love this stuff. I always wondered if it clogs the perforated seat hole.

    after putting the coating on what do you clean it with? That alcohol based detailer you used won't break down the coating?

    Does the ceramic coating extend the life of the synthetic leather. I'm a big guy and I put a lot of pressure on the seat as I slide across while getting in and out?

    Be careful with these leather shields, they can mess up the original coating on the seats that protect and make it easy to clean. Also, they can get into the perforations and make the cooling/heating weaker.

    No fence but all those are a big waste of money and time. The frictional forces or even the same company cleaner will kill it in the first pass. Additional investigation must be carried to understand better the new presented biological leather type that is compact layers painted/coated hence anything put on will be swiped off from our clothing

      @@OutofSpecDetailing ...and you literally refer to it as leather at multiple other points, "it does soak into the pores of the actual leather here", hence the confusion. I love your content, but precision of words matter when using a product with precise instructions.

    • @swatkin3
      @swatkin3 Před 2 měsíci

      @@OutofSpecDetailing You did say that. I didn't mean to criticize you. It's the people that market this stuff as "vegan leather", or some other name that implies that it is "leather". It is NOT leather and will not hold up over time like leather does. That doesn't prevent the marketers from making you think you are getting a 'leather seat' and charging a premium for it. A premium that is not deserved.
      There are a lot of people out there who think they are saving the world by not wearing leather. The simple truth is that leather is a by-product of the meat industry.. as long as people eat meat, there will be hides. If the hides are not turned into leather, dog chews, and collagen they will end up in a landfill.
