How can I change the getaway of dataset after the published report?
I have a published report its current getaway is excel file and I want to change with my Sql source.
I already make my sql connection online in getaway but I don’t know how to change getaway old to new one. All the fields and values are same.

If i have 2 different database, i have created one gateway connection for 1st database, shall i use same gateway connection for 2nd one?
Yes gateway can be same you need to define the connection for the database

The report refresh is getting failed at scheduled refresh time if my system is in sleep or shutdowns.

Keep the server on and schedule the refresh
If you keep your file in SharePoint and use the file in powerbi, it will be in cloud and you don't need your local PC to act as a server. This time after publishing your report in power bi, the gateway will access the SharePoint for file directly which is independent from your pc

The credentials are validated and able to fetch data on Power BI desktop, but the credentials are not validated on service side and thus not able to refresh the data when I type my username and password it return an error ? How can I fix that

We need clarity about the gateway, In our organization we use VPN for DB, So If the admin can create a report in powerBI means they are using VPN at that time. At that time only the remaining can see the report otherwise its showing error in the report.
we need your input then only we can move forward it
Please schedule VPN when you schedule the refresh. Once refresh is completed then you don’t need VPN

In our organization we are using VPN for DB
and then in powerBI we are connecting the DB using Direct query so we need VPN
@@syncbricks Correct in my Company We use a VPN for Datasource so we connect DB in the PowerBI Direct Method Means we need a VPN. When we need to see the report means at the time we need a VPN without a VPN we can't see the report

I have removed the personal gateway in power bi service and when i am downloading again it is showing error saying uninstall the existing gateway and try again, how to resolve the issue
Please install personal gateway again and then install using program and features and then install enterprises gateway
Hi,
Whenever we try to add credentials using "Basic" method for data source and provide the respective database's credentials, it gives us below error
Unable to update this data source's credentials. The analysis request operation is timed out before it was completed
- Not sure exactly why it happening but below 2 things to be noted
If we give incorrect password it returns the same error - means the error is returned even before the authentication
If we give incorrect server IP then it returns a different error "a network related or instance specific error occurred..." - means the PBi Service is able to access the server when given the correct IP,port.

You have have multiple gateway for single tenant but not multiple tenants for of one gateway

If you are using vent gateway azure you don’t need on premises gateway. Vent gateway is to connect to Microsoft Cloud Services
