Cannot change the past, but i am so glad we learned from it, and still learning from it. But the most amazing thing here is, he still served, he still was an amazing devildog, he didnt whine and bitch and protest, he went on to being an outstanding Marine, and in Civilian life seems to have done well too.
I served in the Army in Iraq and Afghanistan. I had a tough job, but this guy has nothing on me and I'm happy to see him get that uniform that he absolutely deserves.

HawkeyeNation19 hey respect him you piece of shit if you did serve or if you did serve in combat I should say you wouldn't go in combat a blouse and a flak jacket, he did and probably was getting ridiculed and threatened by his white counterparts and still got the job done people like that are what makes the military great now, cuz everyone gets treated like shit and only people that could do the job gets the job (atleast in the Marine corps) he earned it so next time you decided to talk shit about a World War II vet he seen and done way more shit than you ever could imagine so stop sucking your own dick and pull your head out your ass
I served in Us Army 2000-2009 Thank you far your service Earned my DD-214 I've had family members and all the different branches of services had an uncle that was a marine I had my great-great-grandfather was in the Navy I have a nephew in the Navy I can't believe they did that to somebody that has served thank you for serving your country you deserve it to wear that uniform proudly you definitely earned it
Glad to see he finally got his dress blues! I wish I could rightfully call him my "brother" (I was in the Navy, not the Marines), but I'm proud to call him a fellow veteran. Thank you for your service, man. You and your fellow vets literally helped save the world!
PCBacklash you are his brother's in arms. Doesn't matter which branch of service you served in or Era. You a veteran, we al the same brother's & sister's in arms. Theres only 1 color, red the blood, we shed for 🇺🇸.
I first learned about the the MONFORT POINT MARINES on NCIS and have seen more about them since! A VERY HONORABLE history! They changed the ideas of many people and showed their patriotism in an outstanding manner. They fought wars on 2 fronts, overseas and at home, and have been successful on both fronts! Thank you!
Semper Fi sir. You earned the title just like every other Marine and you deserve to have and wear your Marine Corps dress blues! I remember wearing my dress blues for the first time. It's is an awesome thing to wear them. Thank you for your service and God bless fellow Devil Dog.
What a difference between people. Here is an old guy that is stuck in the past, happy to get his uniform 70 years late. When I got out the Air Force, I gave my uniform away. Some of it went to a friend who was still serving, so he could use it. But the rest, dress blues and dress cap, went to a military museum. My time in the Air Force was over, and I didn't want to keep stuff like that to try to cling to my youth. Life moves on and I didn't want to be worshiping an old uniform. Now, I have memories of my time in service, but nothing physical. I see too many people not able to give up that part of their life, and never able to move on.
I would just like to point out the fact that the USMC Dress Blues were not really issued during WW2. To anyone. Few Marines got them, and almost no Marine that was in combat got them because what use would it be to issue a uniform that the person would probably never wear.
Marines were not issued Dress Blues during WW2. They were actually banned from wear until 1947 due to fabric shortages during the War. There were some special exceptions but even those were rare. They mostly involved uniforms that were pre WW2 owned. Marines have not always been issued Dress Blues either.
Dave Smith Dress blues are never issued to a graduating recruit he earn them or buy them if you buy them you aren't aloud to wear them on base sincerely Master Gunnery Sergeant Thomas PMI School of infantry East Camp Geiger North Carolina MCRD Parris Island 1979 (2017).
I'm glad this gentleman after all them years he finally received his dress blues and not because they were sorry for him but because he earned those dress blues, and you may have to took him to 91 years old but this guy is United States Marine and he fought for his and our country and also made ETSU one of the toughest branches of our military boot camps during segregation and being part of one's first All Blacks Marine Corps regiments. My hat's off to you sir oh, thank you for serving and protecting our country but yes sir I am very happy for you sir yeah you were able to receive your dress blues like you should have sir the day that you graduated and from that day forth and forever will be known as the United States Marines. Thank you again sir for your service and the patience it took to receive your dress blues, this person believes you should have received them a lot sooner then the date you did but I would rather say better late than never but no matter what once a marine always a Marine dress blues or not
Semper Fi Marine. I’m sorry for the way you and all the other black Marines were treated for doing the same job, risking your life like all the other Marines. Thank you for what you did to keep us free. So happy to see you in your blues. Long overdue.
You look very handsome in your dress blues sir. My father was a marine for over 15yrs and i appreciate and honor all service men for serving our country so we can be free today. So with that being said Thank you so much for serving our country God Bless you Sir. I apologize that segregation did not allow you to be honored as the full Marine you were and still are. Oorah!!!

Terrible crime ? I was in the Marines 82 to 86, no issued dress blues for me. My father a WW2 Marine grunt wasn't issued dress blues. Where is the terrible crime ? He wasn't eligible for a free set of dress blues because he wasn't a corporal or above. He could of bought them if he wanted like everyone else, where is this terrible crime ?

This guy is in a hell of a shape. I would've honestly thought he was 60, not 91.
Caesar Exactly, Thought he looked 40-50.
just the white hair gave it away otherwise i would have thought he just had a beard coming in
He’s 91 h my lord it’s true that blacks don’t crack
NVA Rifleman 40-50 is pushing it lol chill
That’s marines for ya
He deserved that uniform 70 years ago. He should not have had to wait for it.

Yeah that's some bull shit, don't matter what color you are they deserve the respect.
It was the 1940's and not being white back then sucked.

Ginger VS Ginger .. yeah no shit. But that doesn’t justify it any more.
This Marine should have been allowed to wear those 70 years ago.
On that note my late paternal grandfather should have gotten his Bronze Star during Korea not 1985 when the Air Force finally got it to him
Yeah but he wasn't.
@@JohnCoffins Caught that from the story, did you?
