I realized after posting this that it's missing some context for Luke. Before we started streaming, we played Arena Commander Pirate Swarm for around an hour where he got used to the new flight model and controls. That's why he was able to fly as well as he did on stream, and why we were more focused on FPS gameplay.
Luke is the best public facing employee at LMG.
That's like being the most buoyant turd in the bowl. Not saying much.
he seems like a good dude, but i'm still not watching anything LMG relalted after their debacle. I'll be back for the next one, Morph. Long live Taiwan.
@@Phelper99 I also stopped watching all LMG content after the Gamers Nexus situation. It was extremely disappointing but not surprising. I worked at a company that grew fast and was eventually bought by eBay, and I saw from first hand experience how people with good technical ability can have a lack of sense in other aspects of running a company.
That said, my impression of Luke has always been positive.
@@jerichoshepherd2106 Luke is, and always has been a really solid dude with good integrity.
@@badsamaritan8223 amazing you can come to such a conclusion without knowing someone for a long time.
Morph you should visit LMG. Please give us an architect review of their new setup. (I'm dyslexic sorry)
Or yk, make a star citizen themed PC. (Promised, prototype tech that’s been announced a while back but still in development)

16:20 it's doing that cause he's going over the SCM speed so ship becomes incontrolable
16:27
Flying in atmo has more air resistance. That's what's happening.
Air resistance shouldn't flip him down hard.
I think its that stupid setting to automatically land the ship once you get close enough to the ground (I forgot what its called).
lol, SC is always meanest to people when they're just checking it out. Of course it's buggy no matter how much you play, but with time you can get better at avoiding/dealing with bugs, and the game can be really fun. It's just a question of whether you want to slog through the bad times to experience the good ones (and which parts you consider to be good/bad in the first place), and that answer will be different for everyone.
It's a weird game - like an FPS and a flight sim had a baby that wants to be a sci-fi space MMO when it grows up. When it works (and when it doesn't), there's nothing else quite like it.
This was a fun change of pace, I enjoyed it. I don't imagine you get a whole lot of visitors all the way over there in Taiwan Morph so I'm glad Luke was able to come by to hang out for a while.
I’ve been playing this update for 2 weeks and had no idea you can actually set routes with the on foot minimap 🤯
On boarding a returning player with a high tier DC mission, was asking for trouble. But in the end, a typical SC session, with a little bit of everything, from server recovery, to falling through the elevator floor, from extremely aggressive npcs, to sleepy zombie guards, what else could you ask for?
And it only took 12 years to get here!
This one senctence just summs up most of my Star Citizen experience so far: "That's not supposed to happen."
Haven't missed a WAN show since '22. This is the crossover of a lifetime for me!
That's just sad.
@@jerichoshepherd2106 bro is LTT biggest hater for no reason💀
@@jerichoshepherd2106 go cry about it xD
Luke plays so we don't have to
HAHAHA! Man that was a great video! A fantastic slice of the Star Citizen Experience. Keep up the good work, and awesome to see you made it to the Bar Citizen in Taipei!
17:15 This is about how the game felt for me the last time I played it 5 years ago. I feel like CIG is perpetually re-designing things and never fully executing on a clearly defined vision and never polishing or finishing anything. Perpetually evolving; Perpetually broken.
You should've showed Luke the prison missions and hand mining. It can be pretty fun, and it reduces your sentence.
It wasn’t and still isn’t working in 3.23
In 4.5 years playing in the PU, I haven't once successfully reduced my sentence, due to bugs.
The prison loop has been working for me in 3.23. Sure, oxygen was very limited but could be worked around, and I believe it's fixed now.
Conrad is a G, but 300 series v Security Post feels like a bad idea
21:37 Soft death is Disabling the ship or vehicle. Hard death is Destroying it.
Glad you edited the stream. Kept on putting it off given the length
Ooh I was there for this, it was fun to watch you two interact
When in the map, as soon as you click on a location and it calculates, you can press R to quick route
2 Fun Facts.
1. Being in a Tresspassing area WILL make Guards shoot at you. Attacking them WILL give you a crimestat.
2. You can actually pay off all your crimes without going to prison. You do it the same way as always. Good luck doing it, tho, as every guard on that location will rush you, and will continue to rush you until you have logged off or left the area. BUT... It works.
Best locations to do it at is at main locations like Orison, Lorville, New Babbage, and Area18. Land, exit to menu, go back in, spawn at the habs, get to ground level, and go to the "Pay off your fines" monitor to pay them off, exit to menu again, and then go back in.
Just dont be my friend and hit the "Surrender" button.
In the cyberpunk dystopia of corpo owned whole planets the security forces shooting at you first is no grounds of any sort of "self defence". I guess the problems started when you got marked as trespassing (mission *should* have given you permit to be there, but bugs happen, or it might just have been the server recovery messing that up).
SC lurker here... am equally hyped, as I equally feel it needs another 5 years again ...
My biggest problem with fps game play happened here. "is that a friendly or enemy??" *proceeds to shoot you or near you and you shoot back "so that was a friendly and now i have a crime stat... im done playing for the night now"
He is right, I could not tell what to do at that QT toggle area. A little flare to it would be cool, like making it glow to indicate what to do now. CIG really needs to fix box missions, for it is the perfect on-boarding missions, but they are so damn buggy. Luke may not be new, but Master Modes is no joke with tonnes of AI. Also, DCS is no joke with those deadly buggy AIs.
I would love to hear a long form conversation with Luke about his thoughts about Star Citizen.
I also didn't notice the set route button at first and was clicking random keys that caused me to lose all mouse control in the game. idk how the f, but what ever. Yes CIG need to address this as it seems very common among the community.
17:15 huh...
29:42 hmm...
31:24 gahhh...
31:29 wee...
Great video! Ok, players are spoiled today. I used to play Everquest, but when it debuted it had NO map. you had a sense heading skill that you had to actively level up. So imagine travelling in new lands and all you get is "You think you may be heading west" ok all sarcasm aside. I agree the new map is a big upgrade. Cool seeing Luke get into SC.
Stumbled into the livestream after you somehow flipped fhat ship.
I didn't get to play 3.23 myself, but the new first person maps are impressive. But it still feels like there is a lot of padding to get emergent gameplay around the few isolated islands of high intensity gameplay. And you spending like 2 hours out of 3 just to get place or equipped, grouped up - really highlights where the experience is lacking for me.
I’m guessing we gonna see SC section in the next WAN show 😅
My first ship when I backed was the Andromeda, I think. I don't think there were any variants back then so I don't know what that translates to nowadays
SC right now kinda goes "I'm gonna hop in and do a 20min thing".... 2 hours later you haven't even gotten to the place to DO the thing, you've lost money, your ship was destroyed by something invisible, and if you want to get back to where you were when you started you have to spend another hour just to get there. You're out of time, patience, your loved ones are wondering where you are, and you utter un-christian things about CIG and Chris Roberts angrily.... But you've already spent an embarrassing amount of money backing this game and you know you'll be back eventually
Was expecting some prison mining gameplay here. ;)
unless this was recorded after 3.23.1a that would be a bad time with only 2 minutes of breathable air.
Awesome vid
Any backer from 2012 (like me) I shall henceforth refer to as member of Squadron Onetytwo.
This was an excellent idea for a video Morph. More level headed people with credibility evaluating what SC is ACTUALLY DOING (instead of assuming it's a scam) is very good for the future. Thanks to Luke for doing this. Great job fellas!
Eight hours... Luke did well for his first updated run. Was the original mission a success? It would be nice if you at least got paid for something.
btw you could have bought a tigerclaw hacking chip in area 18 at cubbys
OMG Luke!! thats so cool!
I feel like Prison escape would have been fun to attempt xD
I will be in Davao Philippines JULY 20TH.....And ill be palying sc online from there.
Luke Klesher tips
shit I look a lot like that dude. His beard is richer though, but we could look like same family brothers. To be honest he looks more like me than my actual brothers
Flying on surface in NAV QTM mode ;(
why not? i usualy dont switch to SCM till I'm like 5-10Km from my destination.
Did you know the search is case "sensitive"? :D
the panic in his eyes no no thats really cool please dont wear that .. xD
Should have had Luke do a prison break
But i DO enjoy the ship and hand mining. Its a lot of fun.
Are there Togruta Lekku hanging on your cabinet?
wow the npcs worked, nice
Nice
2015 backer, but i followed from day 1. took me a couple years to drink the kool aid. now im on it.
Buddy an I played StarCitizen last 3 evenings in a row... 1st night was hangups and crashes...2nd night was marginally better and managed to harvest some bunker gear and mineral boxes.
3rd night was 4 hangups and requisite crash with 30k errors 😬
Required game reboot after all 4 separate 30k errors.
We lost the mineral boxes in the hangup which also required us to claim our now empty ships.
What is happening to the game we love 🤔
We were in 3.23.1
First 2 nights with early game launcher.
Last night was after updating to 2.01 launcher.
We wiped Shaders and User each time.
This is getting ridiculous.
Try again tonight...
@Morph...... 35mins ain't long brother 🫡
Did you give Luke from LMG a LMG?
Nooooo. He didn't get to experience the new EVA.
The ship flipped over onto its back because it wanted a tummy rub. .. Who's a good boy?
Imagine disabling a comray in star citizen
So cool you're in China!
hi lives in Taiwan not china and has said so on many ocations.
This kinda a bad look for people interested in getting into the game, but also it did look like you were both having fun.
yeah until this game fixes all of the consistant bugs very few new players are going to want to try this
Went on some tangents unrelated to the game at your house huh 😏
Is Luke still 🔒locked in your basement? 😄
Love Luke
LINUS MEDIA GROUP ACKNOWLEDGES STAR CITIZEN?!?!
Clearly
They literally had a top 2 org, I ran the group sessions, he turned up on arena commander sessions only to have to disappear because the LMG servers lost a ton of data.
Linus is also a backer i think i once said he would pledge like a $ for every member of his org and it has thousands of member by now. there is even a vide of Linus and Luke playing it with Morph.
8 hours isn't that bad i had 27 hours once
I dislike LMG so I have mixed feelings but it is nice to see at least one person there taking SC seriously. Then again it is LMG and they are in my blacklist after the events of a few years ago with Linus and employee issues.
Man I cant believe the game is so buggy after so many years in development...
r/starcitizen : .. "what you mean, it's totally playable" ... ( sigh.. looks like 5 more years again )
"I think needing to check things out in a browser is just part of modern gaming for really in-depth systems, it's okay. It's fine. It's just - it's how modern gaming works, it's alright."
Only if it's provided by the game developer as a faux "in-game manual" of sorts (hi, Satisfactory!). Relying on the community to communicate things that could or should be displayed in-game is just lazy and/or bad development.
To use an example for a highly praised title, in Baldur's Gate 3 some encounters are hard/impossible to complete unless you reach a certain level (or if you save/load every step of the way to optimize your dice rolls). However, nowhere does the game teach players how to estimate how difficult an encounter is (ie. examine the enemies to see their levels), nor does it teach you that it's okay to hold off doing encounters. Even when - mind you it's a role-playing game - one of your companions is urging you to head to that encounter as soon as possible, else your head will explode! (Yes,m I'm looking at you, Lae'zel.)
Hitting a brick wall with a frustrating encounter like that, having to rely on community forums to learn that you can postpone encounters, looking up guides to find encounters that are you in your level range, really detracts from what is otherwise a really great game.
luckily im born in 80s and it was customary, and i still think it is. to check out controls, and then just try everything. thats how 80s and 90s kids learned to play... trying to do everything.
Saying all that to someone born in the 80s is all sorts of hilarious.
All I see everytime I re-look into this game, is how it does not work. Will check the state of the alpha in another 10 years.
Whenever you attempt to show SC off to someone(s), it knows and flips all the quantum quirks in the game and NOTHING works. lol

Luuuke
aaa Prison, a game feature that makes players quit the game.
Watched the stream, man, morpth wasn't doing the game many favors trying to shortcut luke learning the game on his own all the time trying to get him to the "good parts" which I'd argue is the least interesting part of SC.
Yeah i dont miss that brokeass game.
And we don't miss you at all. 😎

Seems fitting. A scummy company working with another scummy company.
CIG should be embarrassed. Just wait until Asmongold decides to play and gets loads of eyes on the game then he signs its death warrant as it is so poorly made.
They have an opportunity to really cement their future and are going to let it completely slip their grasp.
Typical SC backer that backed in 2012 and have absolutely not touched the game in more than a decade. What is that? What does it do? How does that work? Hillarious. And the clown face of morph when they encounter REGULAR sc bugs "WHAAAA? WHAT'S HAPPENING???", you're either not playing yourself, or you're a paid CIG shill
Why are you here then still commenting. You're so sad.
