Very Cool build , I cant wait to do more on it.
Thanks, man! We got plenty to do.
Robbie this channel has taken off brother !! Mikes work looks awesome always love the content bro! Much love ...
We're working hard to grow it but couldn't do it without you guys! You've been here since day one and I appreciate it.
I love it
Thank you, brother! Wouldn't be what it is without you.
This should be called the acronym channel you’ve got one for everything and everyone lol 👍🇺🇸
haha it's how we do it!
Dude...Robbie, that's so mean of you to tease us with already powder coated frame blurred in the back ground. Can't wait to see the finished product. Keep rockin the great content.
haha if it makes you feel any better, it's not powder. This is still a driver and we've got a few more things to do before we wrap up chassis, but gotta get it together quickly for the 10/26 C10 Fall Revival show.
Haha, but ya gotta give me props for catching that it was black...👍
Another great episode Robbie! Can't wait to see the finished product. 👍
Thanks, Todd!
Another great video as always
Thanks, Michael!
heck yeah looking good robbie can't wait to see the body back on it thanks for the video buddy
It'll be a bit longer before we do that, but working toward it everyday.
Wow. That's some true artwork
He does a great job!
The 4 link is coming along nicely. Another great video 👍
Thanks, Shane!
Now that's progress! Looking good Robbie! If the rest of the build looks as good as the chassis it's going to be one sick k5!
Thank you, buddy! We're working hard on it.
Looks beautiful, coming along nicely!
Yes sir! Thank you.
Looking great, can't wait to see it in person at Oakboro 😎
Can't wait to meet ya!
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS I'll try not to be to annoying 🙈
Man that’s some cool stuff! Love seeing this stuff come together! Nice job !!
Me too! It's a pretty cool feeling.
Awesome. Cant wait to see more progress
Coming soon!
Great info !!! Love ya''lls attitude and "Clean Channel" ! Good work men!!!
Thanks, Rob! We have a blast.
That is one of the best rear link set ups I've seen.
I agree. Mike did a wonderful job making it happen.
I have a 99 OBS 2 door 2wd Tahoe. Already 5/7'd. Thinking of going air ride. Thanks for the inspiration!
Sweet! A good 4 link will do wonders on it if you do.
They definitely look great laid out on air
Wow, I can't think of anything else to say but wow!!! Nice job on the UBT k5 that's gonna ride good goin down the road!!!
Thanks, Harold! I hope so.
You guys are awsome...👍
haha just dudes who love trucks
Excellent build!!!
Thanks, JP!
That is one sharp high in frame right there. Love it 👍
Thanks, John!
Can't wait to see this finished!!!!
Can't wait to have it finished but definitely enjoying the ride.
That's a sweet setup I like it a lot this has to be one of my faves videos
Awesome! Thanks for catching back up with us, Ryan!
Cool to finally see someone else that double clutches taps. I have the Mikita clutched chuck I put on my dewalt impact to tap anything what will fit in it. Makes it so you rarely break taps even the really brittle ones
Mike knows what's up
This is the okayest content out there right now
haha okayest?!?!? prob at least be the goodest if we had a new fabricator on the channel bahahahahahahha
Extraordinario! Éxitos chicos!
Love it
Thanks, Aaron!
Taking notes for my SQRBDT oneday! Loving this UBT K5!
Thanks, Jason!
Life has it's ups and downs
Yes it does!
Nice fab work UBT 4 LIFE!
Mike and the boys killed it!
This is some very impressive work, nicely done guys
Really pumped about it!
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Really makes me want a low and slow truck ugh why you do this to me
Ive been waiting for an update on this beast
Glad to bring it to you!
Mike is awesome
very cool mike really knows his stuff cheers guys from niagara falls canada...
No doubt about it
Pretty sweet
Thank you!
Thats so awesome
We love it too
Those solid watts link ends begin to bind and wear with the back and forth radius of the parallel bars, prolly gonna need monster heim joints eventually. Awesome video, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the feedback!
Good work 👍👍👍
Great work 😎
Hella siiiiiiiiiick!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Shane!
This is cool
Thanks, Gene!
Looking good
Thanks, Jerred!
Those rallies and mudders look sick! 😄
bahahaha it's the new trend.
Phil is my boss! And its national Boss Day! Cool vid. I know a little bit more about cars now lol
Justin Arndt I’m sorry man
@@pancakebreakfastclub2653 lol nah bro. He is a good dude. Just subscribed and looking forward to seeing more videos man!
Very cool! Thanks for tuning in.
He’s not here right now bro, you can let it all out! Lol
Phil is someones boss ?? 🤣🤣
Just messing with ya Phil l
man this totally made me decide on going this same route on my square burb just wished i wasn't paralyzed and able to do it myself again,oh well maybe I will get it figured out soon enough myself sweet build though keep up the killer work and cool Vid's #dreams #goals
Thanks for watching man!
This is really coming around fast!
Only way I know to do it! It'll be complete by mid-February. Maybe before.
That’s awesome. Can’t wait to see it!
@@RustyWrenches I'm pretty pumped about it
Dope
Thanks, brother!
If I ever bag another truck I would do a watts link. I had a kp components kit on a silverado with a panhard and the axle shifted through the travel. This though looks solid.
Its supposed to be and seems super rigid.
Nice travel! Dang
good👍👍
Awesome video ! Mike and guys killin it !!! Are they doing the front too ?
Nope we’re handling the front. No welding so we can handle that haha Video coming soon!
Круто!
I LOVE your project. I'm thinking that maybe your welder should use acetone to degrease metal before welding because it dries clean with no leftover residue. That stuff in the spray can he used is possibly a carcinogen and.....should not be heated to a gas around people without a proper respirator device. Anyway, good luck with it. Can't wait for the next video.
Thanks much!
That watts link looks interesting 🤔
yes 👏👏👏👏🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻👍
Robbie I really like your channel. I have a question about this video, how will
you set the pinion angle with the watts link already installed?
Thank you very much. Great question and one I actually had to confer with Mike on a bit to make sure i was thinking about it the right way. Mike set the pinion angle at 4.5 degrees with the 4 link and then yeah, it's basically locked in with Watts, too. That said, in this instance, most output shafts are set between 4-5 degrees so Mike aimed for the middle. If we have to do any adjustments once the trans is in, we'll make them at the trans - not the rearend. Thanks for the constructive question. You actually made me think a little with that one.
Sweet, looking and working well👍. What’s your intentions once the K5 is complete Robbie?
Road trip it with family and friends. And tow a camper, cargo trailer, and maybe even Teddy!
I love the show iam building a 74 c10 very similar setup thorn watts, 4 link, bagged
Sweet! It's my first legit bagged vehicle so I'm pretty pumped.
Looks badass. How come you didn’t get a newer rear end with disc brakes for the K5 ??
Money and time, baby. This is a driver. I've never run rear discs on any of my old trucks and if I decided to on this one, I could pretty easily.
DUDE THAT WAS FREAKING SICK... I just got one question.. what's up with the 3 tools that didn't like this vid...
Anyway awesome work..
Haha not enough wrenching I’m sure
What bags are those that aree on the rear
What type of airbags did you use on the rear?
Is that a Phoenix watts set up? I'm trying to find 1 to fit a 454ss 14 bolt.
Do you have a part number for air bags please
👍🏼
Using a Straight flute tap in an impact driver makes the fitting gods cry.
Get some spiral flute machine taps if you really must use the uggaa duggaa.
pinkskud1 I was looking for this comment. Was the only time on the video I was cringing was during every impact tap operation. 😬
How much did that cost you to make
what are you doing with the gas tank out from underneath the 4x4 blazer
Jake Gouge no idea. Not really sure what shape it’s in.
I got a 1978 K5 jimmy I could use your guys help to tinker with mine.
Happy to help with advice or insight, but we only have the bandwidth to work on our own projects (and make this content for you guys). I love a good k5 though.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS I could use your advise to where to buy good quality parts?
Nice job where can I get the 4 link from ??? Thanks
This was a builder’s kit from Thorbros
What camera have you been using lately the quality is prime!
Thanks! It’s our new Nikon Z6 with their 35mm f/1.8 lens. We love it
UNITED BY TRUCKS it’s so good!
Are you going to box the frame?
No, I am not. It's been boxed around the notch in a decent section. No need to box the rest.
What do you think of a 1976 chevy military truck? The Canadian military used them I can link you some photos of them if you want me to
Love 'em!
I might have missed it, excuse my question if was explained already. Why sleeve bags over double convoluted bags?
Sleeve bags in the rear for strength, lift, and ride and bc I’d like to tow with the blazer
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS fair enough. I lack knowledge on sleeve bags.
I want to know where your friend churchill bought his hat. I want one or a few.
Heck yeah! That's our buddy SQRBDY's brand. www.sqrbdy.com
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Thanks man, I actually just ordered more of those hats.
Should have the hats on the website on Nov 2nd.
What camera do you use ??
Nikon Z6 with a Nikon S f/1.8 lens. It's relatively new and I love it.
All that room for a rear tire and you put suspension in the way! You could have fit a 12” wide tire in there
That wasn’t the wheel plan for this one. I love this set-up and appreciate your feedback, but a wide wheel wasn’t in the cards.
Is this rugged enough for offroading?
I would say it is, but I imagine you'd want 4x4, right?
Where is this watts link from?
ThorBros - Jason Thorbecke
Beating the link ends into the bracket is only gonna get tighter with powder coating or paint. Otherwise nice setup. Fire Up Chips (CMU flag on the wall)
Completely agree. Tolerances are all real tight, but it's worked out thus far. That's how ThorBros designed it.
I grew up in central Michigan and Anna graduated from CMU so it fits lol
@@pancakebreakfastclub2653 I live just south of Lansing. Lots of friends and family that went CMU. The flag caught my eye immediately when it showed up in the shot
Did mike go to CMU!? Who’s the Michigander!?
haha Mike Howe is the Michigander. We're all GA boys!
Where can i get a watts link?
This one is from Thorbros.com
How much did it cost want mine c10 done
All depends on what you want. Reach out to Mike on Instagram @mike_howe83
No disc brakes for the rear?
No sir. This is a driver and, honestly, I have no need for discs in the rear.
So you upgrade the suspension and frame but not the braking system 😢the most important part 🤔
banga8080 i didn’t say there won’t be upgrades to the braking system, it simply will not include rear discs. Never had them, and have no need for them. That is not a must have on this build.
UNITED BY TRUCKS 👍🏾
Decent
haha just decent?
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS I had to type something fast to be the first comment lol
@@skulledmonte84 bahaha good enough reason.
I love those ugly old rallies i have them on my 1984 Caprice Wagon.
haha we'll get them all cleaned up and ready for another project. I actually love those wheels in big/littles like they are.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS I had to do my research to find wheels to fit the wagon sense it's 5 on 5 bolt pattern not like the two and four door caprices.
"ⓌⒽⒶⓉ ⓂⒶⒹⒺ ⓎⓄⓊ ⓈⓂⒾⓁⒺ ⓉⓄⒹⒶⓎ?"
Seeing this watts link articulate. :)
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS That's a good thing to smile about, thanks for sharing that. Cheers!
I like what you guys got going on here. But, it's time to stop messing around and get some suburbans on the show 👀
Oh boy!
