  • I have talked in length about how Olaplex works, and have been using No 3, No 4 and No 5 for a long time. Now that No 8 was launched I wondered: How does it differ from No 3 and which one do you need?

    As doctor passionate about skin care that delivers results I want to help you quickly and efficiently pick a skin care regime that works, by explaining the science behind skin and by sharing quick product reviews.
    I am a big believer that creating a skincare routine that targets your specific concerns is not a matter of your budget. There are many great affordable brands out there: The Inkey List, Good Molecules, Geek & Gorgeous or pixi skincare to name a few of my favorites, and if you know how to combine them, you are well on your way to healthy and happy skin.
    Healthy and happy skin does not mean "flawless" - whatever that might be. I have been struggling with acne, hyperpigmentation and postinflammatory erythema (PIH and PIE) for most of my adult life, and it took me a while to figure out that gentle is key. I went through a retinol damaged skin barrier, acne flare ups and sun damage until I finally reached my happy place: With Tretinoin, sunscreen and of course a red lipstick!

    I love Olaplex 4 and 5 shampoo and conditioner. I don't like getting my hair wet, waiting around for the mask and then shampooing it out. But my hair isn't damaged. I tried Olapex 3 once and gave it away to a friend who had damaged hair.

    I used no.3 and yes you are right I don’t get time to wet my hair to apply it… I have started using no.8 and omg I’m in love with the product… makes my hair so soft and smooth… never did any product in my entire life transitioned my hair to what it is currently.. unless it’s a hair spa ( that again uses blow dry). I just dry my hair after using no. 8 not blow dry… an my hair is frizz free.. soft… adds volume… I’m in love with no. 8. I wash my hair only once a week so I use no. 8 instead of any conditioner…
    Will recommend to everyone 😍

    I have only tried 8, and it's done wonders for my hip length fine but thick hair. One treatment turned the ends from a frizzy tangled mess to smooth and shiny, like my hair was 40 years ago!
    Now I want to try 3 ... I don't know if it will work better, but maybe I can use it less often.
    I don't mind sitting around with wet hair ... I twist it up and add a clip, then either do other grooming or watch a video or two. But I have the time to do that - and when you're used to letting hair dry for 6 hours, an extra 10 minutes is nothing!

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  Před 2 lety +1

      6 hours? I couldn't deal with that! But at the same time I envy you for the hair you describe, mine is very fine, which is why it dries so quickly.

    Hello Dear Dr Anne 🤗, I have recently had some highlights put in my hair, fist time in 2 years , 😳 so I think I need to start taking my No 3 out of the drawer. For the past 2 years I have only coloured my roots and that didn’t damage my hair that much, but now … I need to act preventively 😉. Although last week when I hand my hair done I have asked my hairdresser to put Olaplex in every step of the colouring process to be on the safe side. My wallet might have not liked it but I think my hair did 😆

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  Před 2 lety +1

      Using Olaplex during the bleaching process is probably the only reason why I still have hair on my head... It is really expensive though!

    I start using nr 3 and nr 4 for my damegd curls. And i have nr8 but after more research. It is maybe better to uses nr 5 and or a reguler conditiner and not nr 8 do you maybe have some insight

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  Před 8 měsíci +1

      It depends on what you want - not in perfomrance, but in ease of application. No 3 is in my opinion the most effective, but also needs the most time. I use No 3 around once a week and No 4 and 5 every other wash and that works for my hair.

    I have heard lots of positive things about this brand. I wonder if Revolutions “knock-offs” are any good, since I could actually afford those. Something on trend at the moment are silicone scalp massagers and I want one. My scalp does feel tense somehow

      @@patsyjohnson601 I can't say how it is different, the active ingredient is most likely the same. Are you sure it was No 2? Usually 0, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 are for sale (and whichever number their new purple shampoo has).
      But in the end your hair should return back to normal when you stop using it.
