I love baroque music, I love Vivaldi ... what a pleasure listening to this melodious bassoon ... they are all very good
Brilliant playing and ensemble
University of Michigan has its priorities in the right place if it has a dedicated Bassoon Studio! Great piece (we normally only get RV 484 and 498) so nice to get this one.
I never knew what to think about the bassoon until now. Your performance was magical, whimsical even. It is truly an exciting musical instrument.
Thank you so much Brian! Glad you enjoyed the performance, and I hope you get to view some of the other videos as well.
agree
I fully agree!
I grew up listening to the bassoon!!, my uncle made a master’s degree from in the university of Michigan in medieval music!!!
I appreciate this extremely!!!
I love Vivaldi's baroque music
Damn I only like Vivaldi's hip hop
I personally love his work in the fluxus field
Eu também amo Vivaldi
So beautiful! Thanks for all!!!
I remember learning to play this. Damn. Time flies. Been forever since I’ve played 😭
I am an avid classical music fan. My mother played 2nd violin on orchestras in the US, including Battle Creek Symphony, France, and Korea. Being that she was a violinist who could play Cello as well, I'm partial to strings. That said, the Bassoon is easily my favorite Woodwind. I've always loved the sound and how it fits so well into any piece. In the countless concerts I've attended, I always look forward to the Bassoon pieces. You are amazing.
Thank you so much for your kind message and I'm very happy you enjoyed the performance.
@@UMichiganBassoon what other winds does the bassoonist play?
I only play bassoon these days. I started on the saxophone as a child but haven't played that in years.
Fantastic! Thank you. Applause and congratulations.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💐
Very well played.. everyone is delightfully in tune and the piece is hoppingly majestic... I love the belching bedpost.. It's one of my favorite woodwinds. Most folk don't realize how much fun it can be. How jovial.. such a jolly and wonderful sound.
Beautiful sound !
❤❤❤this is well played, congratulations to all the ensemble .
Beautifully performed Jeffrey!
Amazing performance, glad I found this video.
Thank you! So glad this video has caught on.

我喜歡巴洛克音樂,我喜歡Vivaldi ......聽到這首悠揚的巴鬆管真是一種樂趣......它們都非常好
There are no words to tell how deep this music moves me. Thank you Vivaldi, and thank you musicians for this nice version probably very near what Vivaldi had in mind and ears at the Ospedale.
Thank you so much for your kind words and we're glad to know you enjoyed the performance.
I don't play an instrument or even understand more than the most basic of music theory or musical concepts, but there are a couple of instruments (sounds, actually) that I have come to like over the last few years.
It may be there is only one...
If this is the same family as an oboe, then there is one.
If not, there are two.
I cannot even describe this sound musically... as in "it's like a trumpet" or such like.
I am sure if this were all I listened to for a few weeks, I'd develop a different "new favourite", but as long as I don't over-indulge, I find this somehow magical, transfixing, along with the oboe.
Thanks.
Love bassoon !!!!
¡Bellísimo!
just AWESOME
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Fabuloso!
Music for rise your spirits!
Maravilhoso 👏👏
Excellent!!
Thanks and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

매우 유쾌한 연주입니다.

good~
The bassoon is a beautiful noble instrument
nice gel, and a really excellent mix besides the masterful playing
Great
I'm so glad this speed of playing this has caught on. So many novice snails play this incredible piece so slow
The bassoon's tears about the dead trees that were not able to grow.
what a tightness !!

The comment I left here under was meant for "Vivaldi - Concerto in E minor for Bassoon, RV 484, Uniwersytet Muzyczny Fryderyka Chopina". No idea how it landed here. Although this also a very nice and brilliantly played concerto (RV 495).
I just listened to that again. It is stellar, isn't it? Soloist, conductor, and orchestra alike!
👍👏😇🙏
Os violinos ficaram escondidos
Le basson

the name of instrument please?
The name of the instrument is "bassoon." The brand of this particular bassoon is Heckel.

What wrong with those 15 thumb-downs?
I generally don't worry too much about those thumbs down, don't even acknowledge it, but on this vid, i'm just like.....what? I just can't see any technical problems so maybe it's just hater trolls or something...it really can't be some nerds worried about tempo etc
Can I please retire and take up the Baroque bassoon?
That would be a nice way to retire! Thanks for viewing.
Play it with original Dulcian
This concerto was not written for dulcian.
Aha.
i prefer slower bassoon music
Personally, Presto is my favourite movement, but Largo is also beautiful!
Bravo!
