I've always loved Mali and Timbuktu specifically. As a child my Cuban father and Puerto Rican mother were very into African history. They filled our Bronx apartment with books about the history of this ancient land. In school I loved doing reports about Mansa Musa and King Sundiatta Keita. So when I did my DNA and discovered that 27% of my DNA was from Mali, I was elated. Thank you for this documentary.👌🏾🇨🇺🇵🇷
You always welcome to Mali
That's so cool, I hope you get to go there someday some lifetime, You love Mali because it is a big part of who you are. 😀Take care L F; from Jeanie Hill

Africa the land of great people.I love Africa.#Nigeria.
Africa sweet home were is the Nigerian part of the river?
True
@@tonyjeffers2606 the docu was showing the sahel part of the river
After living and working in a developed country, with all the bills, taxes, and life full of restrictions , governed by laws of the country, don’t do this don’t do that, “ is not allowed to do this is not allowed to do that” all this and more...I came to the conclusion that Africa is indeed a haven and that, Ours is the gate way to paradise, where the people are so loving and kind, free to live in their own ways of life, welcoming and sharing what they got even with stranger no matter how small it’s....this is love, this is respect, So natural , long live Africa, God bless Africa.....#Nahaskey
You are watching this video while "wearing rose colored glasses." The river looks clean and healthy, but they have barely any trees....every living thing has been sucked off their land. The fish they're catching are tiny. They've almost use the land all up. They won't be able to survive her much longer.
@@queeniemoon1349 Maybe you're right about that too, but hey !..Africa is still Africa, a home for all, is a good thing that when all hope of being accepted else where is gone, we still a have place free of charge to leave until our final days on Earth....
What is killing us is not the lack of infrastructure or foods and meds...it is the growing hate for the color Skin's and the lack of freedom to live and be who you are....
Africa is bless with many rivers and farmhands...an environment so natural...not artificial..
Ruky Nahaskey. prince harry is fond of Africa

Excellent documentary, it's good to watch a film about Africa to the sound of indigenous music rather than western music very relaxing.
@Isis Montgomery ok I'll be all that lol lol lol lol !!!!
@@smithjohn9620 I would like to understand people like you, you search documentaries in order to throw angry comments,? do you watch the whole documentaries? if you don't like something or are not even open to change your worldview, why do you bother?. Obviously no one here wil change their view with a comment like yours, in one hand you only spit one sentence, while we are watching a documentary that people took hours, to study, travel, experience and then film it. Guess which argument is stronger.
Living happily with no Television, Mobil phones and cars to corrupt their way of life, not having to be someone's slave, working 8 to 5 to pay ridiculous bills. Such a peaceful way of life.
Actually many of them have televisions and Mobile phones. It wasn't shown but majority do have it.
Absolutely
I live United States, I would leave everything behind to live with these people……….United States 2023, we have lost our way……….These people are living in Gods paradise, God will always provide for these beautiful people till the end of time ❤

That river is also call "Nile" river similar to the Nile in East Africa. Most people talking about Africa do not know Africa; believe me.
It's river Niger not Nile. But I agree with you. Many people talk about africa but they don't know africa

What beautiful architecture
Africa is so great that they are the only people that welcome visitors with songs and dance but unfortunately their visitors only come to still their wealth 😥
Yes you are right. We see only the goid in people. That's why we've been enslaved by almost every other race. And stolen from.. we do not take heart to our proverbs.. a WOLOF one says.. beware of he who comes bering gifts.
everything is beautiful
Nice informative documentary.

This is so cool
Great!!!
Its Real Life ...No Words
13:51 Amazing how nonchalant people can be around croc and hippo infested waters... blows my mind man.
Quite! I lost my right leg 37 years ago and whilst I was learning to walk again at Stanmore Orthopaedic hospital in north London. I met a man who had been on a Lake Kariba (Zambezi) cruise and he was in a boat that got attacked by a Hippo which proceeded to bite his leg off!
I mentioned this to a friends father who had worked on the lake Albert steamer 'Robert Coryndon' in the 1950's and he said yes that often happens. Adding that hippos are by far the most dangerous large animal.
He once saw a bull hippo bite a large crocodile in half!
Amazing have to be careful. Like every country we visit nature has to eat too.
when islam entered africa it made africa even more beautiful and responsible. yes we still have parts that practice the old times but islam made a difference in a very positive way .
Nice video 😊 beautiful ! Love it ❤
thank you. Judi Grace StoryCorps.
Home sweet Home🏡
5.30 I love the dance........
this makes me think about the bible a lot and how life was then. makes me wonder are we really living a better life here in our supposed modern day society driven by greed. sometimes or should I say wonder a lot now days
no we do not live better in the western world
Rt bro
This not living at all..i just watched another video that said..they don't use time.
modern society people do not live happier lives. Their minds are tormented daily and they are not free but live a lie of goverment controlled fake freedom.
@@goognamgoognw6637 Absolutely right as you said, the modern world is so much controlled by forces and the most wanted subject has no end to it called "SATISFACTION", its a never ending need....but out there though there are certain challenges, they are within themselves and living a life. Hats Off.. Yes pray that we have a great future for them, let the rivers keep filled with more fishes, which will make them more happy and not unwanted disturbance.
Great
Highly interesting !
