Good stuff, but there is another comedian, new to you, who appears on WILTY that you should try. Please consider the Wilty clip "Did the Interpol list Henning Wehn as a missing person?" I promise you won't regret it.

Nick, A 'Works Do' is when people who work at the same office, company, factory, shop etc, have a work social or party with your co-workers arranged at a venue or just the pub or even within the office/workplace, it could include a meal and/or a show. The same is also when we arrange someone's 'Retirement Do' or a works 'Christmas Do'. I suppose 'Do' just means party 🙂

David is 1 year younger than Dermot. Dermot is 4 years younger than Mel. I think the point is that Mel would’ve felt creepy about hooking up with David and University because being five years older at Uni just doesn’t happen. But once you’re later on in your career having a five-year age difference between coworkers when you’re drunk at a party isn’t the biggest deal.

The age difference only mattered with David as to if they would have met and hung out at university.
Doesn't matter with Dermot as they worked on the same show.

Dermot O’Lesry is a TV presenter on shows like Big Brother and Britain’s Got Talent etc.
The people who invite guests on to the show ask them what unusual things have happened to them, so when Mel (pronounced Ged-Roy-Sh) told them that she had kissed Dermot passionately they invited him to appear on the same episode.
For the lies the show’s staff make the lies up, and for the true stories they ask the guests, or Lee Mack and David Mitchell, what unusual things have happened to them in the past and go from there.
It is no coincidence that Dermot and Mel appeared on the same episode of WILTY! 😮

They didn't say the name, or did they?
    I think it's pronounced something like GED-roytch, with a hard 'G'.

"It COULD be true"..........so is that "I believe it is true" or "it, could, also, be a lie"...:)
Last night I watched a Woman on a Quiz Show in The UK say her gut instinct was to Answer "A" but on second thought it is, probably, "B" and she answered "C" lol

You are right Dermott was on X factor but not as a judge. He was the guy who used to wait in the wings with the relatives and friends of the contestants. So all is not lost

  • @AgentOccam
    @AgentOccam Před 9 měsíci +1

People may have already told you this, but since I looked stuff up, because I was curious about the age differences, and can't be bothered going through all the comments, here are some facts:
Mel's surname is pronounced 'Giedroyc' phonetically, or how I would write it to show how it's pronounced, something like "Gad-royt".
She went to Cambridge earlier than David and is now a very young looking 55-year-old.
    David is 49.
Dermot O'Leary (Yes, Nick is right: he hosted X-Factor and presents other tv shows) is only one year older than David at (again, a very young looking!) 50. So the age difference between Mel and David wasn't ever really a factor. I think it was just a self-effacing way of her pointing out they were at Cambridge at different times, since Josh brought that point up.

  • @stewedfishproductions7959

I still don't think you fully understand the 'rules' of the show (although a little loose)!? They must tell the truth, but with a slight leeway to make 'obvious' jokes for entertainment and/or not disclose the real name of someone who may not wish to be mentioned. But basically, they cannot tell a blatant lie when questioned and must stick within the broad parameters of the story being told. 🤔😎

The truth and lies can be made up on the day of recording. The guests can obviously work on a truth that both can use, Dermot or Mel could have come up with this truth as they knew they were on the same team and either one could have used it.
