"Out of the Box" is a dynamic performance art project initially created by Sameh Al Tawil in 2000 in Jeddah, KSA, and later re-produced in 2023. The performance captivatingly depicts Al Tawil exerting control over another individual confined within a semi-transparent glass box. Through the act of writing reversed words and sketching symbols on the glass, Al Tawil's actions oscillate between offering hope and manipulating the entrapped person, issuing commands, and orchestrating a form of brainwashing, ultimately achieving complete control over the individual inside the box.
This poignant performance is a part of the "Slavery Documents" art project, which has been in production since 2000. It was partially exhibited at the SEVEN exhibition in 2001, held at the Cairo Atelier in Egypt.
خارج الصندوق" هو مشروع فن أداء ديناميكي أبدعه سامح الطويل في البداية عام ٢٠٠٠ في جدة، المملكة العربية السعودية، وأعيد إنتاجه لاحقًا في عام ٢٠٢٣. يصور الأداء بطريقة مثيرة الطويل وهو يمارس السيطرة على شخص آخر محتجز داخل صندوق زجاجي شبه شفاف. من خلال كتابة كلمات معكوسة ورسم رموز على الزجاج، تتأرجح رموز الطويل بين تقديم الأمل والتلاعب بالشخص المحتجز، إصدار الأوامر، وتنفيذ نوع من غسل الدماغ، ليحقق في النهاية السيطرة الكاملة على الفرد داخل الصندوق.
هذا الاداء الحركي - هو جزء من مشروع "وثائق العبودية" الفني، الذي تم إنتاجه منذ عام 2000. وقد تم عرضه جزئيًا ضمن معرض "سبعة" في اتيليه القاهرة سنة ٢٠٠١
