- Cathy Rankin of Wicked Kiss sat down with John Waite (The Baby's, Bad English, Ringo Starr & his All-Starr Band) during his acoustic tour to discuss music, but ended up talking Spaghetti Westerns, growing up in Scotland, hobbies and other random topics in between a lot of laughing. One of the most likeable and talented guys in music, he was as down to earth off camera as he was on. One can only wonder how he is so underrated, but we thoroughly enjoyed learning a lot about his thoughts on fame and how he views not just music, but life. Great insight and perspective from a true legend and pro. John's music and career has inspired us to continually work at our craft and do what we love. One of the all time best rock voices ever. He's right that he seems to prefer to be "under the radar". I have just about everything he's ever done and I really liked The Babys last 2 albums and his first few solo records. I wish he would put out another rock record but no one buys music anymore so it's not cost effective. Keep writing and playing John. We love your music.

Justin Hartley, star of CBS show "Tracker" which was a it for them in the spring, looks a little like John Waite in the mid 80's.

John's British accent is the same as Bill Nighy (Love Actually). I LOVE IT! They must be from the same area of England. Depending on the section of England that someone is from, it effects the type of British accent they have. It's the same for Americans - - Americans speak differently depending on the state or section of the United States. Southerners speak differently from Northerners and that sort of thing. Based on the accent, you know what part of the United States they're from. SO COOL!
I'm apologize for not catching the name of the young woman interviewing John Waite but I thought she was refreshingly wonderful! So often today the interviewers seem to think everyone is tuning in to see them as they put so much focus on themselves. This interviewer mentioned herself only to bring the interview along and it is also evident she had done alot of research beforehand. Now I know to watch the movie Mackenna's Gold and to download John Waite's "Wooden Heart" albums. I can't wait! See what I did there?!❤
I just checked and John Waite is from Lancashire England and Bill Nighy is from Surrey - - 207 miles apart.
