    I have a 2008 Yamaha SX230HO and love my boat. That easy walk through transom has to be a problem when you come to a slow or stop. The water have to rush into the boat with this design. Beautiful unit tho.

      There's actually a removable transom gate that comes with it. It just drops in and is sealed to prevent water intrusion into the cockpit.

    Nice boat! Why not have a cover for the canopy plexi-glass so you do not bake in the sun underneath it. Perhaps there is one available offered as an option or after market. Also, that head is really tight in there. If you are need to get in there quick, good luck. Always loved anything Yamaha! Great company indeed!

      I’m sure there must be some type of cover available. Yes that head compartment is very tight. You’d have to really be determined to want to use it I stead of say jumping in the water 😎. Thanks for watching

    Good morning. Currently I have a 27’ CC with outboards. I’ve been looking at the Yamaha 275. Just hate to spend that much money if the ride is wet and lots of splash inside the boat, also how’s the ride and if water is choppy and most of all how loud is it on the boat where you can barely hear each other on the boat knowing how jet ski motors can be loud. Pros and cons please would be a great help.
    Thank you.

      I cannot attest to personal experience but I've never heard Yamaha has a problem with lots of water in the boat. Some reviews from owners have pointed out that Yamaha does do a good job of draining the deck through the aft section and the bilge stays relatively dry if not completely dry even after a full day of hard use. Yamaha's are more designed for Lakes and not really an ocean boat although I've seen reviews from owners in the Northeast that said they are on the ocean frequently, albeit they avoid the rougher days, and they have no issues. I have heard that the low swim platform allows water to wash up on the back after abrupt stops but I think any boat designed with a low swim platform like this would have that issue.

    Can this boat pull a tube, water skier or wake board? i do not see a spot to attach a rope on this anywhere. I suspect it has plenty of power.

      Never used it, but the demos I've seen have shown people using the system to great effect. It's really just a way to add very small amounts of thrust, which is what you have to learn to do with the old throttle levers, too. I think this will be much more intuitive and easy to use. As it is with the old tech, you just have to spend hours and hours perfecting it, and yes, I have hit many docks in the process of learning. I've only owned one other boat that was not a jet drive, and I can't say it was that much better, but it was not a good comparison being a 70s tri-hull with a 110hp outboard. The fact that Yamahas are now fully drive by wire has also helped them make things easier to adjust to. It's been very hard to learn to apply and remove thrust smoothly for me. I end up bumping the levers instead of trying to just pull them slowly. I think this will be much better and easier to learn and would love a chance to confirm that!

    Too bad it requires premium fuel. That's what stopped me from buying one. Availability of 93 octane on the water is sketchy and the problem with buying it on land is it has 10% ethanol which is a no-no for boats that might sit.

    • @TwoGuysandaRide
      @TwoGuysandaRide  Před 4 lety +3

      Hey that’s great information to have. Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching

    • @shawncox6719
      @shawncox6719 Před 4 lety

      There are several places that sell non-ethanol at the pumps now. Might just take a little searching. I'm more worried about the long term upkeep of the superchargers. I know other manufacturers require a complete rebuilt of the supercharger after 200 hours. If you use your boat a lot that could be quite an expense. One of the selling points for Yamaha is reliability and the fact that they generally require very little maintenance. That's a huge turn off for me as far as buying this over it's smaller brother in the 24 ft line.

      It wasn't the 100,000 plus price , if you can afford the boat the fuel not an issue.

      To each their own, but I love the jet propulsion aspect of my Yamaha. Almost no maintenance, thrust angle helps it get on plane super fast. The drawbacks are just smoothness, noise, and maneuvering, which I think they have solved over the years. This boat has Drive technology and lots of sound deadening. Not a lot of tradeoffs left, really. It is getting pricey for a brand known for being economical as one if its primary benefits.
