  • This Video is Part 3 of my big 1/16 Tiger Tank Restoration. In this video I prepair the anti rust precoat and the Zimmerit coating for the camouflage scheme. This camouflage scheme was used by the heavy XX- Panzerabteilung 102 during the Normandy battle. Tank Commander was Ustuf Martin Schroif who achieved 161 tank kills during his career. This is place two behind Kurt Knispel who achieved 168. Everyone talks about Wittman. Who is Wittman? :)
Maybe the camo scheme paint is not 100% historical correct but it looks nice.
Please watch Part 1 and Part 2 of this project if you haven´t already.

The implementation on the Tiger 1 looks really good, especially the wave camouflage pattern. I don't think much of it with decals, the Nassschiebe numbers either, but with stencil technology it's a completely different thing because it looks much better, or with a lot of practice with a brush painting technique. there is or was the camouflage pattern on the 134 of Willy Fey and on the 132 of the heavy tank battalion 101 and 102 my RC Taigen Tiger from Normandy gets the number 212 of the 102. 👍👍👍👍👍

Hi ! What stencils do you use? I can't seem find any that work well. Great job on this one.

Thanks Rodney. On this Tiger I don´t use any stencil to spray the camo because the tank model was big enough to spray it hands-free. On smaler kits sometimes I use a special cover up putty to create a camo scheme. Look for "Panzer Putty" from "MXpression" for example. I think you will find a list of manufacturers in the net.

Thanks for the reply !! I watched and saw the camo technique which I'm going to try. What I was actually asking about was the number stencils. I can't seem to find any good number stencils or number masks for 1/16 scale. The ones you used for the numbering on this one looked like they worked well and I was wondering which ones they were. Thanks again. @@DIORAMUS-

Hello Rodney, allright you search for the turretnumbers. I think the stencils came from "DN Models" but I am not sure. If you dont find them search for 1:16 Tiger I or Panther turret marking stencils. Maybe you can find a dealer in your country.
      Good luck.

Fantastic work! How much paint did you need to color the whole tank?

Thank you very much. I dont know the exact amount but with primer, washings and acrylics maybe 200 ml. 😁
