It just goes to show that Atreus takes his dad's nuggets of wisdom to heart.
The number of creators who seemed to be unphased or completely unaware of what that line meant is shocking. And XQC especially didn't just miss the point but ran away from it.

When Atreus told his father to be better, that was the most Spartan/Laconic thing he could have done in that moment, and Kratos's pride was practically glowing for all to see.

for those who didn't play the first game , " don't be sorry, be better " was what kratos said atreus when he apologized for missing the dear at the very beginning of the game.
It wasn't for missing the deer, it was because he hadn't waited for kratos's command before shooting.

The beautiful thing about this is, everything Kratos says he means te be true. He truly is sorry, it's a great moment because you know he speaks true when he apologized.
That smile Kratos showed made me and my father laugh and warmed our hearts, which shows that Atreus has finally learned and grew up to become a man, funny cuz after that scene my father gave me life lessons just like Kratos and Atreus relationship.
The timestamps have been a little off recently. Might want to take an extra second to fix them next time.
This is why I watch Mauler and Metal's stream of this, they actually fucking break down a bit of the build up, and how important it was thematically and character wise for Atreus to be the one to say it and etc. While they're playing the game no less.

i don't know why this did'nt won game of the year, thjs is game of the sanctuary , i have completed this game fully and achieved platinum trophy , there are many moments which makes me jumps out of my seat, like when kratos asked brok to bless his spear , when brok dies and sindri's emotions 😪😪 , and when kratos telling the story to Atreus before ragnarok , when atreus hugged his father after ragnarok , there are many memorable diaglogues too, i don't know how many am gonna finish this masterpiece

If you ask me a god of war without kratos shouldn't be called god of war. its called like that because of him so if they want to keep going putting Atreas as the main character they should come up with a new name to truly make it into a new era.
The director has hinted at it going to other pantheons so I think if they do anything with Atreus it will just be a smaller spin off game like miles morales and then go back to kratos for the main GoW series.
