About the Video:
One of the world’s leading diversified natural resources companies and a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources Ltd., Vedanta Limited is delisting from BSE and NSE with a floor price of ₹87.25. the company is a leading producer of Zinc, Lead, Oil and Gas, Copper, Silver, Power, Aluminium, Iron Ore and Steel. The Vedanta delisting bidding period is from October 5th to October 9th 2020. This means that the reverse book building process is already ongoing and the shareholders can tender their shares. Among the various institutional investors, the largest shareholder with 6.4% is LIC followed by ICICI Prudential at 4.8%, HDCF Equity Fund with 3% and Citi Bank with 4.37%.
The Vedanta delisting news was confirmed with an official announcement on 12th May 2020 wherein they announced the decision to delist the Indian company from all the stock exchanges. The question now arises that how will this impact the shareholders and how is the delisting of shares going to take place. It is also in question whether the company itself will benefit from it or not. Question is why Vedanta wants to delist. Obviously for profit. So there is some hidden value in the Company which promoters want to siphon off. Their track record is also dubious. I have experienced it at the time of buyback of Sterlite Industries.
What was buy back price of Sterlite? Which year?
@@goutammukherjee6573 It was somewhere in 1998 at Rs. 140/- or so. Company sent cheque directly for every shareholder without their prior consent. If you deposit cheque that means you are agreeable for buyback. Most people innocently deposited cheque without realising implications. Real story is ahead. Within few months Sterlite Industries share price was jacked up from 100/- to 1000/- and everyone like me felt cheated.
