    Domask would be 1st team all big10 preseason but player of the year? I think Braden Smith would probably be the early favorite, especially if coming off a matchup against UConn win or lose. Every bigten team is looking at a roster rebuild next year so Illini should definitely take this opportunity for Domask to stay and build around over some flashier names.

      Braden Smith isn't going to have Edey giving him wide open 3 pointers next season.

    If Domask returns, he’ll have the season that Dalton Knecht had at Tennessee. His game also reminds me of Knecht’s

    The key word from the rules would be "scheduled" vs completed, in regards to Domask

      Domask played in 10 games. 31 were scheduled. He’s still over the 30% threshold.

    Is there really any chance this happens and he comes back for another year? Like realistically. Is there any chance for this to happen?

    • @TheCollegeHuddlePodcast
      @TheCollegeHuddlePodcast  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes! I would still say it is more likely he does not, but taking the NCAA to court makes me more confident in the possibility.

  • @itchy5603
    @itchy5603 Před 2 měsíci

    He is incorrect that Domask would be under if 5 more games were played. You have to be under 30% of games played to redshirt and he would be 10 of 31 (32%). Additionally, the NCAA did not count 20-21 as a year for any player, so he’s trying to get a redshirt granted for a year that didn’t count to begin with. Illinois knows this and they will be working under the assumption they won’t have him.

    Love Domask, but not a big fan of players getting more than 5 years of total eligibility. A year for redshirt or injury is ok, but some of these guys are taking advantage of a flawed system. With that said, if they do give him another year, I will get over it, because love his old school game.

      I feel very similarly. I really like Domask too and unfortunately, if he doesn’t come back, I’m not sure I’ll see him play much again.

    Not sure how Wisconsin let him out of state , wonder if the bridge is burned to bringing him in as a transfer ? Or with his special situation, is it stay at Illinois or go pro overseas as his choices ?

    • @colejames423
      @colejames423 Před 2 měsíci +2

      Why would he ever transfer to Wisconsin, even if he could? He just leveled up big time at Illinois, won a big 10 tourney, played in an elite 8 and was a 1st team all Big 10.
      Leave that to go join a trash program with a less than inspiring head coach? Seems very unlikely.

      @@KevoUptownChicago I actually have no idea what Cal has said. Haven’t listened to a single Cal interview. Don’t think this is some unique point of view though and most people are beyond tired of it. The Xavier Johnson’s and Jordan Bohannon’s of the world sticking around college for 6 and 7 seasons is extremely annoying.
