What also can get your frustration level to 100. Is when you play battleship, but you end up taking the cruiser role because every damn, cruiser teammate is clueless to their role on your team and is hunting low hanging fruit if even doing anything useful for the team.

@@thecaptainraven range of torps, turns and moves slightly slower than kagero , lower HP but higher armor, fantastic guns but people dont shoot them, range of torps. yes I said that twice because radar and sonar absolutely wreck this boat. oh and range of torps. can get chased down because it is pretty slow at the tier.
@@NextEraGamer It's speed is exactly similar to that of Kagero's. Basically, even after you remove or not install the torpedo mod, it is still better than Kagero. Reason: You still have torpedo reload mod without sacrificing your smoke screen con & Yudachi also have better torp reload times.

Destroyers need some spotting points just like tanks does, then they might be used abit more as scouts and not just kamikazes.
They do get spotting points go in to record and you will see damage done from your spotting
The only battleships that really scare me while in a destroyer are the KGV and the Nelson

Thanks spartan I really needed some help with tips with destroyers 😀😀😀😀,also I was for some reason charging a bus ark knowing that the secondaries would eat me up but I just dived all the shots but then I charged a g.kurfurst and just completely dodge his secondaries I torped him then the Baltimore finished me off, I think I have a talent 😀😀
Thank you for posting this video, I have used most of the tactics you recommended and they’ve worked the only one I’m against is capturing bases on domination because every time I go into the base theres always an enemy destroyer that surprise attacks me and then that enemy destroyers team: battleships and/or cruisers just end up blowing me out of the water.

Movement helps. Try being hard to hit/predict inside the cap circle. That way when you go down you have been the distraction and carried the ball too.

I'm more aggressive than suicidal in my Yudachi. It's a fine line to ride. But I've played it enough, that I've figured out when to change direction with it's ruder shift speed, durring and after engine boost is active. To avoid getting spotted. A hockey stop torps launch as engine boost ends is oddly satisfying. Got my Kraken on a poor Amagi with one. Then did a zig zag turn to bump stop a cruiser in my smoke screen. Rudder shift knowledge is highly under rated.

Yes! As a Yuudachi-main, I agree with all your points! Even tho I’m hunting for dmg, victory will totally boost your score! I’ve had games where I top the leaderboard even with 50k dmg and only one kill on a destroyer, all because I played in a way that supported the team. DDs are mobile and can easily influence a flank WITHOUT directly doing dmg!

Map rotation is not the worst thing in this game, it's the huge magnet in the center of the map. All my teammates are being sucked in to a black hole every game. By the way, i'm a DD player and if people would start shooting at the ships is spot, i would be a happy captain.

To prove Spartan’s point for everyone - I ve done and won in DD games with 9k damage!!! 1st place, 2000 base xp, and many silver earned. And this is not a rare thing. You can go for 150k damage and still do same rewards:)) but damage not always helps winning.

Great video, I'm getting better with destroyers but still have trouble when capturing an area and end up going head to head with an enemy destroyer. My gun hits never seem to do much damage. Any tips appreciated

I have gotten every line to tier 5 and learned how to play all 110 ships and i can be confident playing any one of them except aoba
My buddy got me into this game (my gf hates him now), and I remember my first destroyer experience.... Ooh torpedos let's go sink shit... Nah, lasted like one minute if that after throwing myself into the hornet's nest. I thought to myself damn this boat sucks!!! After playing a few games and getting my stern handed to me, I did some research on naval ships and their functions as warships. Then I found you guys on YT. I still get my stern handed to me but I go back to port with some silver and happy knowing I took three opponents with me to Davy Jone's Locker. Been playing for 3 months now and I'm getting better and yes I play all ships but I like DDs and cruisers with tubes. Thanks for waking me up to what to actually do in a DD
Good video, I agree alot with what you said. Case in point I just had a match and our destroyer went a capture A and spotted the enemy la fantastic. The enemy dd disengaged, our brilliant teammate dd then went after the enemy legendary ships leaving me and 2 other bb to fend for ourselves against the enemy DD, who was smart and just was launching torps. needless to say we still won because we captured bases, but still it frustrating when teammate DD just leave you hanging against other DDs especially when they know they are in the area.

Every tank, every ship, has a specific job.
Every tank, every ship, has strengths and weaknesses.
Know your role, preform that role, and work together as a team. A warrior in a solo fight against a soldier will win 99/100 fights. But an army of soldiers will obliterate an army of warriors 99/100 battles. Because they cover each others weaknesses and work as a team.
Legends needs to do a better communicating the Destroyers job to the player base. Spotting ribbons and medals like they have on PC would be a good start.

Please make a vid on BBs hiding behind mountains, players abandoning flanks, and the "black hole" phenomenon. Sometimes I look at the map 3 min in and almost stroke out.

@@SpartanElite43 I’m sure once cross platform comes out then you could do that. I’m pretty sure the other ccs have those three ships. Plus idk if you’d be able to use some kind of chat so use discord with the craig bot to record live audio with friends.

@NAker torp friendly ships when the match starts & hey presto torp mission done,i know this works coz i did it in my gaede & didnt hit a single enemy with a torp.i was trying but busy trying to cap & kill 4 enemy dds.but shhhh dont tell everyone,lol

Battleships are not glass. There's no reason to sit in the back of maps camping and causing losses.
This is more frustrating than any destroyer issue to me. They forget they have armor and they can push forward well with a good team. I know one can't push forward alone, but that should go for any class.
Next most annoying thing is people leaving the area they start from to hit another or just go ball-lessly backwards. Many times I've had this happen and turn into 2 vs 5-6 real quick. Enemy team sees opportunity and takes it. They need to stay with the ones they started by, do damage, then help other areas as the battle permits one to.
I get yolo'd so fast when I play destroyer lol. But when I go against them I have a hard time hitting them
It is just something you gotta learn when and where people are likely to be.
Check the enemy ships at the beginning and try to avoid the ships that hard counter you.
I highly recommend running a sneaky destroyer commander build with the perceptive perk.
This shows you the rough direction of the closest enemy ship. Helps avoid those unwanted engagements
I wish they would put all premium ships in the store for purchase.
Tips for winning in a destroyer. You are a destroyer. You are the most lethal item in the game. You are overpowered and every ship fears you! You are also virtually invisible, and even if you do get spotted! You can go invisible again!
Aka, just don’t be dumb and charge ships. Also keep your distance. DD’s are overpowered.
Let’s be honest, people have a damage fetish in DD’s because there’s no real incentive for them to spot for their team. You don’t get spotting points, you get points for damage and capping/defending bases. I hope that in a future update Wargaming will add a spotter ribbon that will give a small amount of xp per ribbon.
Fully agree. I spot, cap and lay down smoke for my team but most other DDs just act as gunboats. I like the tactical side of DD play because. No more screaming into caps from the off!

so what you're saying is 20-30 seconds between shots in a BB isn't enough time to look around and see what's going on, and if you lose a game it's because your DD was too greedy?
have you considered that when a DD looks sees his BB's have not moved from their spawn, or have clustered together like sheep or are heading backwards for the border, or keep shooting at the nose in vladi because the radar cruiser is too hard to hit, the DD decides he's getting no help from his team, so screw them, and goes to farm some damage?
Why should bbs push up, just to get set on fire 50 times and torped back to port in 30 secs, no thanks

Anybody have any advice to do if i cant repair my Iowa, currently i dont have any tier 3-6 ships atm, all used to get the Iowa. How do i farm credits? A reply would be appreciated
Never sell ships it is a killer.....
That being said if you are out of silver and do not have any other ships you'll have to buy one of the free tier 1 ships and then tier 2 and so on
Um I would recommend any premium ships cause they give a money boost

Spend a few days not playing at all. Just open the free boxes, hope for credits, and log out. After you've built up a small amount buy a t3-t5 ship and run it in pve matches. Premium ships earn more credits. Then after you have a nice nest egg, switch to running those t3-t5 in pvp matches. Don't even look at a t6 or t7 pvp match unless you're running premium account. Unless you have a phenomenal game, you'll lose credits.
What does the “located arrow” mean???
It means you are the closest ship to an enemy running twist and track. So they have a general idea of your location to them

@Spartan Elite43 u need to make videos on how to play gun boat DDz or toro boat DDz. You play those roles different.. I can help you with that if you would like DD players on top
agreed. Yudachi is an abnormality. DD tips are nice but each line has pros and cons. This technique would not have worked in a Russian or US DD. Need to know how to use island cover, smoke, and setting fires to get perma floods.

What I've learned observing DD players in a BB
1. Never shoot your guns unless you're out of torpedoes and surrounded by cruisers who haven't spotted you
2. Spray torpedoes at everything that floats
3. Camp in smoke at every opportunity
4. Yolo at every opportunity
5. Hide behind every island
6. Complain about DD's needing a buff despite already being the strongest/most important ship type in the game overall
Ok, let me tell you about this Video: I am new to this game and have an average of 10k-20k damage output per round. And I die very fast - noob, right. I was happy when I have 4+ Torpedo hits per round.
After watching this video, I managed to deliver 75k-80k per round and I hit with 8-10 Torpedo's per round. Be patient in the beginning of the round and shine when you "clean up" at the end of the round.
As that GK has shown. Do NOT tunnel vision! Easier said than done but the minimap is your bestfriend. It's sad how many people actually don't use the minimap.

@@thegoosegaming4337 there are so many hard counters to the Yudachi at this point. A good wichita player can crush them. Especially if they are running those 8km torps. Hell the Indianapolis has even further range on its radar. the lightning and the z23 can obliterate them. reality is, it is not a God tier boat. it just has some of the best clips on youtube.

I hate destroyers... that being said my best games have all been in destroyers and most kills I've got in a game have been just grabing caps and spotting.

that's the mindset that is giving us DD mains so much grief. spotting, capping, deterring enemy DD and enemy advance is bread and butter. just hate these 5 v 5 DD matches. i'd rather play what's on TV.

I am capturing a base in my DD at A, after 2-3 minutes has gone by and I decide to move to the next cap. Look up and the other flank just disappeared. Watching half your team gone in under 5 minutes is real and it happens too often.

Destroyer commanders stop ramming other destroyers, you're wasting your ship and all you have to do is spot them and someone will kill them, you're better served by staying alive. Drives me nuts to watch enemy destroyers being shot by 3 or 4 other ships and then our one destroyer rams him and we lose our main spotter.
destroyers is the worst shit in the game, it shows up 3 kilometers and you already know you lost, the crap hiding with this shit only plays!
