    Good to see a fellow Minnesotan. I have quattroporte sport gts with same engine and the amazing exhaust. There are frustrating moments with sticky buttons, window regulator failures, random CELs etc. But nothing beats the smiles and attention this car gives when driving. This is one car I will never sell and people who complain about them really need to drive one to understand how special they are.

    I see why these are greatly depreciated. Basic use on these things is expensive for a car that’s mid overall. It’s clutch if you’re in your early 20s. You’d have similar maintenance on a 911.

    On mine a coolant hose between the engine and the dashboard came loose on the highway and I had coolant all over the car. My GT was about 7 years old back then. It's a common issue on these including your facelift 1 model. I've seen it happening to another GT after only 2 years from new. The intake manifold had to be taken out. I also had squeaky rear suspension arms. They became less squeaky by driving it more. I also had a slippery aircon belt after 6 years. Some interior rattles coming from the dashboard and back and engine slow start issues disappeared by driving it a lot. This car definitely wants to be driven often. Never drive through deep puddles. There is a pressure release hole in your transmission and you don't want water in there. If you get errors on your dash, first try reconnecting the battery. The software is sometimes wrong. I often had this from parking on a hillclimb. I sold the car a few years ago. Biggest mistake of my life. Keep it!

    My Indy mechanic aligned it to an Audi A1 spec (He used to be a Masi mechanic). Tires were $1000 for 4. Tires looked almost new after 12k miles when I sold it. Oil change was $120 and I provided the $60 oil filter.

    Hey, I just bought a 2015 Maserati GT and got lied to about leaks. There is an oil leak from valve covers. Does that mean I'll likely need to do that valve cover gasket fix? If so, how did you learn how to do it yourself?

    • @Car.Nation
      @Car.Nation  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I am a mechanic so my prior knowledge helped me. If you’re mechanically inclined, you can definitely tackle it. Did mine slowly over a weekend. Left fuel lines in place so made it harder but doable. Mines now leaking from the oil level sensor which requires me to remove the oil pan which won’t be terrible but not fun lol

      @@ProfessorDrives yea i absolutely love mine, id say its just more little things that'll pop up but that's with any car, just a little more spendy to repair lol. 1500 isn't to bad, assuming its not from the dealer. If you have a buddy who can do some mechanical work, I'm sure if you buy him lunch and both knock it out, you should be able to get it. Maserati is definitely something I am aiming for in the next 2-3 years given that crypto and equities in general recover again. Living where I am and with the gas prices we have I would estimate pessimistically 20k for that car across the same time span you had yours. That would equate to about what I pay in taxes on a monthly basis so in terms of talking me into paying as much for my own joy in life as I do for the government...not that difficult xD but yeah, let's see. Thx for the review.
