Love this, because as a little girl I grew up in that neighborhood just 3 blocks away, and walked past your home from the age of 5 till we moved to South Pasadena aged 16. :) I was always mesmerized by the aura and architecture! xo

Hi, I grew up in that neighborhood too and later moved to Texas. I was wondering if you were anyone I grew up with. I would love to connect with any of those crazy kids from my childhood! Early 80’s.

My dad and mom would tell me great stories of his time hanging out here with the Browne's. This is an awesome video that brings back some cool memories of me being a kid running around here with my pops.

I also enjoy Severin Browne when he performs as a member of the Tall Men Group, six singer-songwriters who come together for inspiration (and evidently, good food!) and perform generally in southern California. Last week, they were in Oxnard, CA at a house concert.

Alexander Dumble lived here for quite a long time as well. He created many amazing tube guitar amps within these walls. Rest in peace Alexander.

This house is in Highland Park, not Eagle Rock

Technically, the home is in Highland Park (LA) and not Eagle Rock. This home has an incredibly rich history as well as being an architectural/cultural gem. The builder of the home was a contemporary (and pal) of some VERY famous late 19th/early 20th-century L.A. "movers and shakers" as well as being a notable person in his own *write.* (pun intended!).

Very nice.! The song at the piano is really nice, good vocal and keyboard style. What kind of piano is it? A wonderful example of early Calif. architecture, place looks like there must be a certain amount of inherent maintenance, but worth it.

So, say I was 7 yrs old in 1972 or 73, and I attended a children's b-day party at Abbey SanEncino that included an extensive treasure hunt on the property, followed by cake & ice cream in the chapel/pipe organ room(I lived across the street at 6210 arroyo glen st. at a house demolished long ago) Curious as to whom that party was for, any memories?

A bit strange that he doesn’t mention his brother Jackson. The courtyard of the house is featured on Jackson’s second album “For Everyman.” I would be proud of my brother.

Perhaps sibling envy. Imagine being James Taylor’s brothers too. Yes I would be happy and proud of JB! 💕

Seems weird that he didn't mention that courtyard as the setting for the cover of his brother Jackson's For Everyman album. I understand not making it about JB but no mention at all seems like an omission with some heavy backstory.

Just curious (because of the last name) does anyone know if he's related to the singer-songwriter "Jackson Browne?"
