    Yaya Toure was one of the greatest box to box midfielders of his era. He could do it all. Imagine an attacking CM forced to play center back, he did a good job at FC Barcelona. Nowadays, I doubt most attacking CMs can play as center back. Pep Guardiola forced Yaya out of Barcelona. Yaya, an all-action marauding CM, does not fit into Pep's heavy possession-based Tika-taka philosophy, which requires extreme positional discipline. At Manchester City, Yaya peaked super-high, and he was in decline by Pep's arrival in 2016. Yaya had bad luck when he had to deal with Pep again at City.
    At City, Pep cleaned out the players that he did not like or did not fit into his philosophy, which included Joe Hart, Yaya Toure, Eliaquim Mangala, and others. Don't forget how Pep tried to force out City's best striker, Sergio Aguero, who was aging, for Gabriel Jesus. It's possible that Pep is allegedly racist, but he is a good liar, who always uses his "philosophy" for cover. Pep has a history with players, who are not malleable for his philosophy like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Samuel Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Deco, Dante, Mario Mandzukic, Mario Gotze, and Cesc Fabregas. Also, Pep had a hand in destroying the careers of Joe Hart, Alexander Hleb, and Bojan Krkic. Luckily, Cole Palmer got out of Manchester City before his career would stagnate by being a bench player for Manchester City. Pep is a legendary manager, but let's not whitewash his history.

    • @brianduru3753
      @brianduru3753 Před měsícem +1

      @@worldtownfc Mate don't be absurd. Pep had nothing to do with Joe Hart or Bojan....
      Joe Hart was declining before Pep got there. He was absolutely awful at Euro 2016 and it's not like he's been particularly successful since he left Man City.
      And Bojan just couldn't handle the mental pressure of being a footballer. That is not Pep's fault.
      Also, calling Pep allegedly racist and accusing him of using his philosophy as cover is a slanderous remark that has no basis in reality.

    • @worldtownfc
      @worldtownfc Před měsícem +2

      @@brianduru3753 Yeah, Joe Hart was in decline, but he was still a decent Premier League goalkeeper. Pep did not give him an opportunity to compete against Claudio Bravo. Hart had no choice but to go out on loan to Torino and West Ham. Everything went downhill from there. Pep destroyed Hart's career. At least, Hart finished his career at Celtic this year. Hart seems professional, and he wants to leave what happened with Pep and City in the past. I can respect that.
      Bojan had his problems with mental health. Pep is the manager, and he probably should have done more to help him instead of throwing him away to AS Roma. The footballing world is a ruthless place especially at top clubs like FC Barcelona.
      Pep has a troubled history with players like Yaya Toure, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Samuel Eto'o. Yaya claims racism. Zlatan could not get along with Pep for multiple reasons like personality, ego, or philosophy. Eto'o helped Pep win his first La Liga, and got backstabbed and sent off to Inter Milan. At least for Zlatan and Eto'o, they managed to move on and improve, but some like Yaya had their careers crushed. Describing allegations and correlations with unlucky players, who had their careers ruined by Pep, is not slander. If I recall correctly, the media claimed a lot of these unlucky players had to go because they did not fit Pep's philosophy like Joe Hart, Zlatan, Eto'o, and Yaya Toure.

    • @brianduru3753
      @brianduru3753 Před měsícem +1

      @@worldtownfc Mate, Pep is a football manager, not a baby sitter. He is there to win games, not to change diapers. The football world is ruthless and it applies to everyone so not sure why it seems you are singling out Pep.
      Did Pep somehow also go to Torino and West Ham and sabotage Joe Hart? Hart had plenty of chances to prove himself after Man City and never got back to his former level. That is on Joe Hart, not Pep.
      Bojan is a sad case and football is progressing in terms of mental health thankfully. But again, that is not something you can pin solely on Pep. Because Bojan has been at other clubs too and not been able to make it. So don't other managers bear that responsibility too?
      And you have still not proven anything that can be conceivably linked to racism with any credible proof. All you have is the testimony of Yaya Toure, a man that threw a fit because of a birthday cake. And if you just thought about it for one second, you would realise that the simple answer is that Yaya didn't fit Pep's philosophy and plans and it has nothing to do with racism. So you accusing Pep of using his philosophy to cover up racism is slander and has zero basis in reality.
      In 2013, as Bayern coach Pep wanted Neymar instead of Gotze, but Bayern went for the latter. Why did Pep want Neymar then? Seeing as Neymar is black?
      The only place I will agree Pep made a mistake is Eto'o. And that has nothing to do with racism. Pep just wanted to remove personalities that he thought might be disruptive or be bad influences (Eto'o, Ronaldinho and Deco). He was right about Ronaldinho and Deco, but to hasty with Eto'o because Eto'o had only had injury issues, unlike Deco and Ronaldinho who were not professional.
      But I still wouldn't put that down to racism. It's just a manager clashing with another player, just like he has clashed with white players too.

    • @worldtownfc
      @worldtownfc Před měsícem +2

      @@brianduru3753 Yes, Pep Guardiola is paid to win. True, there is no credible, verifiable evidence on Yaya's racism claims. Ultimately, Pep has not racially acted against former players, and my claims of his philosophy as coverage have no verifiable evidence from the parties involved. Yaya appeared to have amended his some of his issues with Pep with Yaya's exit from City. The video is about Pep, so I listed the players, who had poor relations with Pep. Most top level managers including Jose Mourinho, Jurgen Klopp, and others have destroyed careers of various players.
      Joe Hart's decline accelerated after his exit from Manchester City. I heard some people claimed that Hart was a confidence player, who depended a lot on confidence, but his forced exit from City destroyed his confidence. It's possible that the game moved on, and Hart was no longer a top-level goalkeeper.
      Bojan's career went downhill at FC Barcelona. His mental health might have been extremely fragile, where once broken, it's impossible to fix.
      Pep wanted Neymar because he thought Neymar was the best Brazilian wonderkid of his era like most managers. I doubt Pep would have been able to handle Neymar's personality after falling out with Ronaldinho and Zlatan. For Neymar's career, he made the right move to go to FC Barcelona and to play with Lionel Messi.

      AFcon cannot take place in the summer as it will be too hot to play just like the Wolrd cup is held in winter when it is staged in the middle east. However key African players should not go and remain loyal to their club. Homegrown African players can take part and shine too if that happens.

      in football, there has always been this negative connotation about African players; u cant rely on them, no discipline on or field, too aggressive, too nonchalant etc... it wouldnt surprise me if Pep thinks this way too, plus Spaniards are known to be racist(look at Vini now at Real)
      Not saying he is, but there is indeed a peculiar case, plus the football world is still white, its difficult to prove/defend yourself when racism is already ingrained so deeply in society, they take it with em to sports too.

    All this victimhood mindset need to stop. The fact is Pep do not have issue with african but players with big ego or attitude problem. Same reason he gotten rid or let go of Ronaldinho, Deco and Zlatan etc.
    -Deco
    "“When he arrived at Barcelona, it’s talked about as a great revolution, which is a big lie. Ronaldinho and I left, but he had Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets was promoted, Yaya Toure, the best player in Africa, Messi, of course, Samuel Eto’o. Guardiola was intelligent, and when he arrived, he put discipline in place and his quality as a manager into it, and went on to build the best team I have ever seen in my life. And he was smart, he knew not to waste time on other things.”
    We all know Pep is all about control. As a manager, he has his own vision of how he wants to run things, to him it's easier to teach and implement things to a young player than it is to a seasoned player who might oppose your idea. To call this racism is purely speculative and nonsensical.

    Please stop this. I'm Nigerian and making claims like this makes a mockery of true cases of racism and discrimination that people face in the sport.
    Pep does NOT have a problem with black players or African players. He has signed many black players and as for African players in particular, Seydou Keita, Mehdi Benatia and Riyad Mahrez would argue against your point.
    Yaya Toure was simply on the decline when Pep came. He was always a somewhat difficult character (remember the birthday cake fiasco under Pellegrini) and the season before Pep came, Toure and City grossly underperformed. I don't know if anyone remembers their CL semi-final against Real Madrid and the shocking effort many of their players (Toure especially) displayed.
    The reality of the situation is that Pep came into Man City and met an aging player who was past his prime in Yaya Toure (he was 33 at that point). He didn't have the work rate or professionalism of a player like Fernandinho, who continued to perform at the highest level well into his 30s.
    Pep also binned Joe Hart when he came to City. Was Joe Hart African too?

      Pep saw that Fernandinho was a better defensive midfield player than Yaya Toure and wanted to move forward with the better and younger Silva and De Bruyne as his number 8s.
      So it has nothing to do with Yaya Toure's skin colour or race.

    • @ald1050
      @ald1050 Před měsícem

      @@brianduru3753 You make a valid point but if Yaya was a white or european player he would still be playing in the team. No white player with his ability would be left out of the Man City squad so obviously his skin colour has played a role in him being omitted from the team. In addition Pep only buys black players when he has no other alternative like Doku for example in this current Man City side. Everywhere he goes Pep tends to "whiten" the team and there is no valid explanation.

    • @brianduru3753

      I'm not even going to address the rest of your point about 'whitening' teams because it is garbage.

      The "whitening " of teams is not garbage. Just check Pep's transfer history at his clubs. Barcelona being a prime example. Another thing Pep used to do was to play Bojan ahead of Thierry Henry which was nonsense and blatant discrimination. Funny how you have not mentioned that in Pep's defence. You are a moron.
      I don't care what colour you are. I am black too. Being black proves nothing as you have shown. It does not mean you know or understand racism becuase you are black. Black people are not "all knowing" on racism. Stop being a keyboard warrior and defending Pep's racism.
